“A family celebration and reunion”
An idyllic location, quiet and yet conveniently situated not far from a supermarket. The villa fitted our purpose perfectly since we were celebrating a family occasion with our elderly parents. The ambience is very comfortable, cosy with hot flooring and very cosy bedrooms. It also has very good space for a games room and a fantastic jacuzzi. All necessities are provided both in bedrooms and the kitchen is well equipped with useful utensils, including a dishwasher! The view from the rooms is spectacular. The villa is also endowed with a private parking area.
Comfortable overall. well equipped. Sauna was not working on Sunday 12. This weekend was rather windy. Insect screens on upper floor bedrooms rattled all night. As to cleanliness this was excellent. One short note on indoor pool on going down the first step is higher than normal and hand rails to help elderly or handicapped people would be an asset. A wonderful place to relax in and enjoy wonderful country and sea views
The farmhouse honestly lives up to its name. I’m glad I choose Baron Group. Impressed with the service you offer and all.
“A great bolt hole in a very special place”
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Hamlet. The villa was spacious, clean and beautifully designed and well equipped particularly with both bath and pool towels. I do question the need for a large Baron Group advert in the sitting room - rather unnecessary seeing as we has already booked it and knew it was Baron owned and a bit tacky in such a beautiful room. The kitchen could have been perhaps better equipped for a large group as having small children we cooked many of our meals at the house. The other thing lacking was plastic cups for by the pool. Having small children we were very conscious of having glass outside and had to enforce drinks inside which was a shame. The BBQ wasn't very good which again was a surprise considering the outdoor life that one leads in Malta and Gozo. Grace, Donald and team were incredibly responsive and couldn't do enough for us which was noted and greatly appreciated. The massages organised by Grace for almost all of adults in our group were fantastic - some of the best we'd ever had and just great by the pool - thoroughly recommended and reasonably priced. The location of the villa does mean that you have to have a car but that wasn't a problem for us. The location was otherwise lovely with a remote view of the sea and despite the other villas being mainly full it was very peaceful. The only downside of being surrounded by farmland was that when the manure was being spread the smell was somewhat unbearable and brought a lot of flies with it - although that only lasted a day or two. Having the house cleaned three times in a fortnight was amazing and made a real difference and the ladies were lovely and friendly. All in all somewhere I would recommend and of a far higher quality than many other holiday homes that I have both seen and stayed in. Gozo and Malta - no need for me to comment - my second home as I've been visiting the islands for 36 years since I was 6 weeks old. A special place.
The villa was wonderfully spacious with views of open countryside and sea.The service was good but we arrived in the afternoon to find a note stuck on the side of the fridge/freezer saying that we needed to switch it on and allow 24 hours for it to come to temperature; we had just bought fresh fish and had to buy ice and a cooler. Given that I had confirmed we were in Malta a few days before and would be arriving early afternoon, I would have thought that someone could have switched on the appliance in advance and saved us the inconvenience. Some of the kitchen equipement notably the frying pans could do with replacement and there are no mirrors adjacent to a mains point for the ladies to dry their hair.
Response from the manager Dear Mrs. Pullicino, Thank you for taking the time to leave your comments and we are glad you enjoyed your stay with us at property Hamlet 4. For the benefit of future travelers we just wish to clarify some of the points you mentioned in your review. The fridge units in our residences are never switched off, and from a check of our service records the fridge in your property was in fact on. For the record, the note affixed to the fridge does not say that the unit needs to be switched on, and its wording is reproduced below for ease of reference: “Very important Refrigerator information Please note that the ideal temperature for the refrigerator is on the 2/3 setting. Increasing this setting to the maximum will only cause the refrigerator to form ice and this will affect more negatively the performance of the same refrigerator. May we remind you that an empty fridge will take at least 24 hours to maintain all the items at the desired temperature.” The sign is put up as helpful information, as clients may expect drinks to cool immediately they are put in, when in fact an empty refrigerator takes more time. Notwithstanding, we regret any inconvenience encountered and trust that your stay was otherwise to the best of your satisfaction. On our part it was a pleasure having you with us, and hope to see again soon.
