“Some trouble in paradise.”

Reviewed 17 Mar 2015

This is a great condo. The view is fantastic, often seeing monkeys in the trees on the patio. There is plenty of space for six people. A home away from home. However, they say it's on the ground floor but it's not. If you have problems with steps this is not the place for you. The only way down to the pool is to walk down flights of steps. The entrance to the condo is through the back very scary. Once downstairs the beach is across the street behind the Diria hotel. I took a taxi to get back to the condo daily because of my disability. But if walking is not an issue for you, this is the place to get. We had an issue because there was no sofa bed for five days. Then they bought in a lumpy sofa that I told them they needed to throw out. It took three weeks to somewhat resolve this issue. My suggestion is if you rent this place and its worth the money, when you get there make sure that tan sofa in the picture isn't there. Also check to see if there is actually a sofa bed because they didn't tell us we found out at night when it was time to turn in. If they make some adjustments this could be the ideal place..it just wasn't for me but the other guest loved it.

Response from the manager Thanks Theresa for your review. With 4 out of 5 stars, it would seem you would have had a great time and overall it seems you did. We at Blue water Properties have a reputation of great customer service and try to make all our guests happy and 99% of the time we meet that goal. It's a shame you fell into the 1% we could never please. To clarify--the condo is a ground floor condo, but perched up on a hill. When you booked, you never mentioned stairs being an issue (those are the stairs that lead down to the pool). We offered to pay for your taxi service in town and even gave you a refund of $300 to make you happy. Refund back on credit cards can take up to a month to process. I'm sure you can realize that we are in a different country and things just don't go as fast as in the USA. In regards to the sofa bed--there is one there, but was out for repair at the time you were there. If you had called us to let us know that you needed a sofa bed or extra bed, we would have brought you one right away, but you didn't inform us until the day before you left. Also, in regards to lighting--we have never had a complaint regarding lighting to the condo. The area is the most secure in Tamarindo in our opinion and our guests have always been safe, so your comment about someone 'lurking' back by the condos is simply false. Glad you enjoyed your stay and your son's wedding overall. The team at Blue Water Properties.
