Very Good

“Great views and very comfortable.”

Reviewed 18 Aug 2011

The unit has fantastic views and a great location. The layout was very roomy and comfortable. The rugs in bathrooms and bedrooms were very dirty and had to be washed upon our arrival. Overall cleanliness was o.k. but all the doors and baseboards could use a wipe down (smudges and smears).

We have rented at the Hampton Place 4 times prior to this year. My first day in the ocean I was stung by a stingray 5 times. Never realized how venomous it was. Needless to say I was unable to walk for 4 days nor utilize the bikes we rented. I never went back into the ocean and remained at the pool area.

My family and I stayed the week of May 23. The condo was incredibly nice with some of the best ocean views. There was a ability to see the beach from every room. Also the beach was wonderful and the pool very pleasant. But and I mean a big but. The elevator wasn't working properly from day 1 and only got worse. It seemed to quit working at times totally and then just do crazy things like stopping at all floors. One of the final mishaps was my parents getting stuck in the elevator and calling 911 ( taking 30 minutes for the fire department to get them out.) Elevators are a big deal in a high rise especially when your parents are in there seventies and you go back and forth to the beach. The final insult came when we went to drop the keys at Island Getaway and my parents explained about getting stuck in the elevator and calling 911. The ladies response " o you have to take that up with the elevator company that has nothing to do with us."

“Rough start...”

Reviewed 7 May 2009

The condo was filthy upon our arrival. Either Island Getaway or the owners has misread a schedule, but the owners had left the day of our arrival and the kitchen was a mess, the refrigerator needed to be cleaned out, trash taken out, beds changed and made, etc. It took THREE HOURS for the staff to come and clean everything. Because we had arrived at 5pm, we had already grocery shopped and had to clean someone else's mess before we could stowe our own groceries. Also, the ice maker did not work and maintenance had to be called to fix that as well. In addition, the plug for the internet connection was missing and we had to go and purchase one in order to fulfill a critical business need. After a rough start, we found the property well apportioned and the location and views lovely.

“Rough start...”

Reviewed 5 May 2009

1) The property was filthy upon our arrival at 5pm on check-in day. Either the owners didn't check with Island Getaway or Island Getaway did not have its schedule correct, but the owners had visited and left the place a mess. The cleaning crew had not yet performed its tasks (changing sheets, vacuuming, cleaning out refrigerator, etc.). As per usual, we had stopped at the grocery store on our way in and we had to clean out the mess in the refrigerator before we could place our own groceries in the space. It took THREE HOURS before the place got cleaned and we could start our vacation without interruption. 2) The WiFi was inoperable upon our arrival. Internet access is critical to our jobs. We chose this property, in part, for the access. Due to time constraints, we had to go to the local Best Buy and purchase the appropriate plug to make it work. We informed the management company. 3) The ice maker was not working. We informed Island Getaway and the owners were called who said it was working when they left. We found this amusing since we discovered that the water to the back of the refrigerator had been CUT OFF. Maintenance was called and a temporary fix was applied. After the initial rough start, we found the property, its location, and the new updates very desirable. In addition, Island Getaway "made right" on our inconvenience.

“Great views”

We have stayed at 6309 Hampton Place several times. It is a beautiful condo with breathtaking views of the ocean. This is a great family friendly complex. The beach is great to walk on and play with the kids.

“Great ocean views”

Reviewed 15 Dec 2008

We spent a week at 6309 Hampton Place with our two teenagers and two of their friends, and had a great time! This condo has incredible ocean views, even better than the photos online. You can also see the pool area and beautiful landcaping around it. There was plenty of room for everyone to have space to themselves, which was really important with 4 teenagers! The kitchen is on the small side, though. We were slightly terrified by some big bugs on the balcony at night, but we never saw any inside. But it did discourage us from spending much time out there after dark!

“Great Location, but...”

Reviewed 15 Dec 2008

We stayed at this condo for a week during August 2008. This is a fabulous location -- ocean front unit with a wonderful balcony and great views. The furnishings in the unit were dated and boardered on being run down. The dishwash didn't work our whole stay. I understand that things happen, but when you're paying top dollar it is disappointing. For the price we paid, I would have to think long and hard about renting this unit again.

“Hampton Place Condo”

Reviewed 15 Dec 2008

The Rental Unit has a great view of the Ocean. The Unit was well maintained and equiped with all we needed for our stay. Rooms were all comfortable and each had their own bathroom. Hampton Place has its own pool area and easy access to the beach. The location of the Condo in Palmetto Dunes is central to everything on Hilton Head. Island Getaway does a great job. We have rented different units from them for the last five years and I would highly recommend them to a prospective renter.

“Best place in Hilton Head”

Reviewed 15 Dec 2008

6309 Hampton is a corner unit that has 3 bedrooms, 3 baths and a huge patio that has a fantistic view of the ocean and pool. The property was exceptionally clean, had a full kitchen and a washer and dryer. Although a little pricey, it was well worth it to be able to view the family members at the pool from the balcony and enjoy the view of the ocean.
