Every February we go skiing with a group of around 15 people. This year we are planning on going to Whistler. We really wanted this house as it is right next to the piste. Some of us like to ski all day, others like to go into the Jacuzzi after lunch. So for us, it is important to be right next to the piste. Unfortunately, this house was booked and we had to find another place. Not easy with so many people. Sabina, the owner, really went out of her way to help us out to find the best place for us. Sabina has a lot of information on Whistler, the surroundings, etc. Thanks again for the support! We have booked with Sabina & Michael for 2015. We have booked both houses.
“Fantastic family reunion/ great views and location”
Our family rented Whistler Slopeside Homes for a reunion which began on august 27th . We were 17 people so we rented both Cedar Ridge homes, 18 and 19 for the week. They exceeded our expectations in every way. While they were both well appointed each had its own charm. number 18 was newly renovated and ultra modern while number 19 was a bit larger with a cozy atmosphere that i personally enjoyed but it was the stunning corner view that took our breath away.. There were jacuzzis in both units which was a great zen spa for all of us after our active days. We especially enjoyed being able to gather around the breakfast and dinner table together, which a hotel could never offer us.The units are in a perfect location with a peaceful setting and breathtaking scenery, ample parking spaces, and less than a 5 minute walk to the village and gondola lifts. My three children , ages 15, 19 and 20 were pleasantly surprised with the accommodations and especially enjoyed how close we were to the endless outdoor activities Whistler has to offer. The units were clean, comfortable and well furnished with everything you need for a week's stay. There is enough space that we could all have our privacy when we needed it and still be together for meals and activities. The owner, Sabina was very helpful and quick to respond to all questions and other communications. I can highly recommend this vacation home with a 5 star rating and would love to come back again for another stay.
“Family reunion at Whistler's Cedar Ridge 18 & 19”
We came for a 1-week family reunion at Whistler's Cedar Ridge 18 & 19 and we truly found our home away from home. We actually needed all 20 beds, as we have a big family. We loved the location. Walking into town took only a few minutes and we definitely want to come back during snow season because it turned out that we were right next to the ski slope. Everything is within easy walking distance, so no car is needed. However, we all drove in and parking our 5 cars right out front was no problem. Apparently area hotels charge around $30 per car per day, so we appreciated the free spots. Number 18 is beautifully renovated, including a great fireplace, modern kitchen, 4 full luxurious bathrooms, heated floors, heated towel racks, outdoor hot tub, barbeque and a full-size washer & dryer. Number 19 is not renovated, but it has some of the same amenities, is slightly larger, and as a corner unit has more windows and somewhat better views. Either way, both have spectacular views. We were in the hot tubs almost every day, which really added to getting everyone together. We tried several of Whistler's fantastic restaurants, but we also used both kitchens to cook family meals. We always had breakfast at home and packed sandwiches, drinks, etc. for our daily outdoor activities. Whistler has 3 supermarkets, The Grocery Store, IGa and Nesters. They're all great.
“Great place for a family reunion”
Just returned from a week-long family reunion holiday, staying at Whistler Slopeside (Cedar Ridge, numbers 18 and 19). At the peak there were 25 of us (we also rented an adjacent third house to accommodate all). The houses were impeccably clean and very well appointed - lots of cutlery and plates for everyone, and everything you could need in the kitchens. All linens/towels were provided as well as hotel-like soaps/shampoos in the bathrooms. Made packing and arriving very easy. The pictures on the website reflect the suites very well - they are as they appear, which is to say pretty luxe. We had group dinners, alternating between the suites and room was never an issue (although we were able to make use of the patios as well, as the weather was awesome). These are absolutely genuine ski in and out accommodations...you are probably a 15 second glide to the Whistler gondola and, and can ski right back to the door. For the summer, they are equally well situated for downhill biking. For casual bikers not using the downhill lifts, you will have a little hike back up to the units, but nothing too onerous (our 4 yr old did it routinely, and the 70+ yr olds as well, although they would occasionally just leave a car at the bottom of the hill if they wanted to stroll in the village or hit the Valley Trail). Sabina was a pleasure to work with through the whole process - no hidden surprises and lots of help when we were trying to figure out if an additional house was warranted. During our stay she checked in to make sure all was in order, was easy to contact and ready to help (although in the end nothing was needed, it was good to know she had us covered).
“A pleasant experience all around”
The accommodations were perfect for our large group. Sabina was very friendly and professional, accommodating our needs and allowing for smooth check in/out. The lodges themselves were clean, well stocked, comfortable, and spacious. The location was excellent. We would definitely return again.
We just stayed here for Tough Mudder Whistler...it as the perfect location...no driving just parked and walked down the hill to the village. We were in the village within 3 minutes. We rented both places accomodating 18 woman amazingly. The owner is great to work with gets back to you right away on email. Both places have a hot tub on the deck...tons of space in both houses...beautiful places, we will definetly rent it again for Tough Mudder Whistler 2014!
“Good location, great service”
Cedar Ridge 18 is conveniently located up a hill with modern decor and jacuzzi. Just a short walk to reach (and ski) down the slopes to town centre, or alternatively, a manageable 10-15min walk down via the main road. Very quick response time (and always patient!) with our myriad of questions prior to our trip. There was a lovely welcome hamper of goodies waiting for us when we arrived, and housekeeping was fast with following up and rectifying any questions / problems that we had. Overall very impressed with the service. Due to the layout of the house and bedding arrangments, Cedar Ridge 18 is more suitable for 1-2 families with kids.
Response from the owner Yikes!!! You would NEVER wish to walk to town on the main road, not pretty and somewhat unsafe. Guest check in instructions show the shortcut to town is 300 meters and even walking slowly takes no more than 4 minutes. Besides, it is a magical walk!
“Great location, excellent service”
-Proximity to village: the cabin is conveniently located, no more than a 10 minute stroll downhill to Whistler village, or a 4 minute journey if you head down on skis. Close enough to the action so that getting around is pretty much effortless! Close to a bus route to Whistler village as well. -Well-maintained, comfortable property: both cabins were clean, well-furnished and the beds were comfortable, even the single and bunk-beds. -Responsive service: the best part about staying here has to be, without a doubt, the warmth of the service. From the customised gift basket to accommodating last minute requests for additional hair dryers and arranging for a parcel delivery, we were truly impressed by the service we received and the Canadian hospitality demonstrated. -One tiny drawback: wifi was at times patchy (although it could have been due to the fact that we had 18 devices attempting to connect at the same time) and the fact that Cedar Ridge 19 has a limited number of bathrooms; although we have been told that it will be renovated this year.
Every aspect for this excellant rental is worth the price. It all starts with Sabina herself, she is a great asset that is willing to help with our group movement. We were a group of 20 that rented both #18 and #19 and Sabina went above and beyond helping us with our rentals and lift tickets. The units are truly ski in/out and the hot tub is well maintained. Book this unit- you won't forget it...
“We loved it!”
We loved this property. It was beautiful and the owners were extremely helpful. They went out of their way to help us arrange a great trip to Whistler. Definitely a place I would recommend to others!
