“Postcard views every time you look out the expansive windows!”

Reviewed 13 Mar 2014

This is a Beautiful cottage/cabin - all equipped with the comforts of home and then some. It is located in Old Fort, NC - so you are about a 1/2 hours drive from the neighborhood into asheville. It's on the top of the mountain - so, the views are amazing!! Beautiful but comfy interiors with so many homey touches. There are comfy blankets for the couches - birdfeeders - books and spices and coffee... literature on the local restaurants and sites of interest. Lots of artwork and windows everywhere. We loved it!

Response from the owner Thank you so much for taking the time to post a review. We are so glad you enjoyed your visit and we hope you can come again.

“Our asheville / Biltmore trip”

Reviewed 20 Dec 2013

We came up to asheville from Charlotte to see the Biltmore in all it's Christmas glory. While the Biltmore was great, the highlight of the trip was waking up to the views off the deck. Beautiful views all around from a very well kept home. Everything we needed for our meals were there. All was clean and comfortable. The owners were extrememly easy to work with, even with short notice. With asheville not far away and Black Mountain even closer, we would most certainly rent again. Thank you very much for a wonderful retreat.

“Friendly people, great cabin, great location”

Nothing but praise for his cabin and Lynne and Tim. They were very friendly, provided everything I needed, and have a wonderful property. My wife and I want to vacation here again next year!

Response from the owner Thank you so much for taking the time to post a review and Tim and I are glad you enjoyed Mountain Laurel. We look forward to hosting you again!

“very relaxing with a gorgeous view.”

Very Comfortable House. First Trip Up Mountain Seemed a Little Scary Because Of Steepness But after the First Trip Up No Problem!

“What a View!”

Reviewed 27 Jun 2012

We enjoyed our stay in the mountains. The highlight of every day was sitting on the deck having coffee in the morning and cocktails in the evening. We never tired of the view. The house had everything we could possibly need.

Response from the owner Thanks so much for taking time to post a review. Tim and I are happy to hear from our guests. Please visit again - the fall is beautiful!

“Cozy place!”

Reviewed 28 Feb 2012

Very nice to have a kitchen with basic items you need so you don't have to worry about bringing things like oil and seasonings. Has everything you need for cooking full meals. Although with the wide variety of really great restaurants in asheville we ended up wanting to eat out a lot. Comfortable split level with sitting area and bedroom on each level, Allowed for our grandaughter to have her own area to play and watch movies. Unfortunately we had to leave a day early due to a winter storm. As the owners describe, the road up the mountain to the house is quite steep. We realized that once it was snow covered we would not be leaving the next day so sadly we packed up and got down the mountain while we could still do so. The view from the house is really great and I'm sure it is spectacular when snow covered. If you want cozy and secluded - this is it.

“A breathtaking view”

Reviewed 30 Dec 2011

The home is nestled high in the mountains making it very quiet and peaceful. The trees had lost their leaves so we were able to get a wonderful view of the town below. At night you could see the lights of the homes below twinkle/during the day you could see the sun rise up over the mountains. Having a living room and a family room allowed some to read books while others watched movies or played video games. The kitchen and bathrooms had plenty of supplies you could use.

“Great cabin to chill out and read”

Reviewed 3 Nov 2011

Even though we agree with other reviewers that the climb to the cabin is steep-after a few climbs and descents we got used to the steepness-our stay at this cabin with a great view was calming, tranquil and conducive to quiet moments, reading and working on puzzles. We enjoyed our time off at the cabin and were sad to leave it for the crowds and noise of the big city. Be prepared to see a deer or two.

“Great views at a reasonable price.”

This mountain home was easy to get to and had great views of the ashville area mountains. All normal guest requirements were met with well appointed baths and fully equipped kitchen. The home was neat and clean. The home was about 35 minutes from the Biltmore and central ashville, but all areas were easy to access due to the highway system. Would stay again.

“Perfect location for wedding weekend”

Reviewed 25 Oct 2010

The house was lovely, the view was spectacular and the drive up and down...amazing. We were in town for our son's wedding. Our stay with you made the event more relaxing and enjoyable. Thank you!
