“Photos do not do justice to the beauty and wonderful craftsmans”

Reviewed 17 Apr 2014

Our family of 9 people had a great time at Majahua. The property is laid out well with plenty of communal and private spaces in which one could either engage other members of our group or retreat to a well placed lounge chair, hammock, or settee in which one could pretend to read a book while actually taking a siesta. The staff were friendly, easy to work with, and ready to fulfill requests. Gille's breakfast were simple and tasty. We all like Mexican food and made sure to tell her that we wanted Mexican breakfasts. On any given day there would be chilaquiles, fresh whole fruit and juices, delicious yoghurt, and granola. If you like good coffee, be sure to bring your own. The coffee available in Mexico is drinkable, but not anything to write home about. The kitchen is well equipped and the pantry with a/C is a nice touch. We cooked all our lunches on the wood fired grill and all but one of our dinners at the house. Keep in mind, one must do major grocery shopping in Zihua. We loved the pool. Great for adults and children alike and a welcome respite from the heat. For an ocean swim free of rocks walk 5 minutes to the north and you will find a gorgeous beach. If you wade out from the northern most soccer goal into the water, there are no rocks. This beach is also wonderful for a morning walk. We literally walked for over an hour without seeing another soul. The casitas are gorgeous, comfortable and quiet. That said, if sleeping in the guest quarters or tower, know that you will hear the sounds of dogs and roosters coming from Majahua village. This was a problem for some of our group until they turned on the white noise makers they brought with them. Be sure to book alejandra for massages. We all had her work on us a few times. All in all, a great property that is our new go to in Guererro. The owners and staff that are pleasure to deal with and the property is a dream.

“Amazing "Mini" Resort”

Reviewed 12 Mar 2014

Book this place with your friends and family if you want to feel experience your own piece of affordable luxury! I visited Casa Majahua this March and was blown away by this place. I would call this a mini resort as it has the following: Ocean Front a swim-up pool bar an infinity pool a hot tub that is actually hot Numerous lounges Room for 12 - 14 friends to stay The place is incredible. My group of 12 friends and I had a great 4 days at the resort. Rooms: The place allows for 12 - 14 people to comfortably stay at the resort. All of the rooms are great and very spacious. The beds are very comfortable. Pool: The pool is an infinity pool with a swim-up bar. The pool is actually quite deep compared to large all-inclusive resort pools I have been to. The owners provide pool activity equipment like waveboards, noodles, and other items for the pool. Food and Cooking: Casa Majahua has a great open air kitchen with a big gas stove, microwave, pantry, and fridge. Food and drink can be purchased in Troncones nearby. The owners of the resort set it up so that we had two dinners and two breakfasts cooked by their staff. The meals were excellent! We also ate in the nearby village of Majahua were we dined on fresh fish. Activities: The owners of the resort set up an "eco-tour" for use where we kayaked on a nearby lagoon and we took a dip in the Pacific Ocean afterwards. There are four bicycles to allow guests to bike into town or just take a bike ride around the area. We also hit the numerous hotel restaurants in Troncones for evening dinners and drinks. I was very impressed with this resort and definitely plan to stay here again. The staff are excellent and the owners made sure that my group had a great stay.

“Incredible oasis in beautiful Mexico”

Reviewed 12 Mar 2014

I recently celebrated my birthday at the most unexpected and incredible place- Casa Majahua outside of Troncones Mexico. 13 of us went on the trip, and we all had an amazing time. The house staff was fantastic and cooked us delicious breakfasts and dinners. The rooms were super clean, and the pool and hot tub we're used non-stop. Best of all was the direct view into the ocean. I would absolutely recommend this property to anyone looking for a heavenly get away. I will definitely be returning to this jewel of a spot.

“awesome time in Majahua”

This is an amazing house, with an unparalleled view, and very accomodating staff. We were pleasantly surprised by the hot cooked breakfast every morning. The staff was very attentive to our requests to serve at different times of the am. The location, last house on the street, gave the feeling of remoteness and adventure. I would definitely recommend it to others. Dmitry

“Best vacation of a lifetime.”

Amazing!  We cannot say enough about our relaxing adventure at Casa Majahua!  First off the home is perfect!  We traveled with 3 families all of us have teenage boys.  Everyone enjoyed the home. Location - again couldn't be any better, steps to a private beach, remote yet not too remote.  Boys went to many surf spots in the area and had a blast Food - This was the best part of the vacation for me - Guille and staff cooked each meal for us and every meal was so good.  Honestly - as the mom - this was the best part not having to go to out and having healthy great tasting food prepared and cleaned up. Activities- We did it all - We snorkeled in Zihuatanejo and enjoyed lunch there, fished with the neighbor samba and then he took the surfers out to catch the better waves, kayaked with Eco Tours, rode atv's, horseback riding at Sunset, and took in Happy Hour at Present Moments.  In our free time we enjoyed Casa Majahua, being in the pool and hammocks! Staff - Oh my goodness - I want them to come home with me!  They are all fabulous and were so kind to our younger boys that were a little demanding with their food :-).  Alejandro was great to work with and always checked in on us (especially after enjoying our Tropical Storm - that was even fun!) We rented a Suburban since we needed to venture out for some varied surf!  Gustavo was great and responsive. Hands down the best vacation ever!  Perfect balance of together space and alone space.  We are all talking about our next trip.

“Outdoor Beauty!”

Reviewed 22 Mar 2011

There really isn't anything other than good things I can say about Casa Majahua. It's amazing! I've traveled plenty, staying at many places around the world and this place, the beauty of the architecture, the location, the beach, the people and all the little details just made this a perfect stay. We rented it for a week for our wedding. Many parties, many times, night after night until the big day and we couldn't of picked a better place. Casa Majahua was the place everyone wanted to come to and not leave. The peaceful beauty of the location is's a gift if you get to stay here. For a wedding, it was perfect. Great for group to hang out, spread out and enjoy it all. We had our ceremony on the beach and the reception in the garden, the decor was amazing thanks to the manager marianna who offers this as an additional service. She also offers to buy all your food and drinks in Zihua which was a huge plus and most other places in troncones don't offer this. The photos do not do it is a gem!

“Magical Majahua”

Reviewed 6 Aug 2010

Looking to get away from ... well ... everything? Casa Majahua is just the right kind of getaway for friends and family of all ages. Its beautifully appointed guest quarters, lush landscaping, and stunning views of the central Mexican Pacific coast will infuse your spirit with a sense of well-being, relaxation, and happiness. Whether finding a quiet nook or hammock to read that novel you've been waiting to get to or watching the sunset from the infinity pool with Marguerita in hand, you're covered. There are so many more ways to enjoy the Casa and the area: Long, gorgeous walks on the beach, board games in the dining area, lawn games in the yard, sunning on deck chairs with fruity drinks, local restaurants, yoga at the retreat nearby, trying your hand at crafting local culinary dishes in the kitchen. It's all there. You can even bring your own music and dance 'til dawn because with the sound-system and no neighbors, you can definitely let your hair down. I wholeheartedly recommend to any group of fun and recreation seekers the marvelous and magical Casa Majahua.

“Gorgeous house, stunning location, amazing experience!”

Reviewed 27 Jul 2010

I had the pleasure of staying at Casa Majahua for a full week in July 2010. I was there with my partner and a group of friends (there were between 10-12 of us staying there at any one time). Words can't describe how great this place is. The majority of the property is open air, so you really get to hear the waves, feel the ocean breezes, and enjoy the amazing location. I was afraid that it would be too hot and muggy in the non-AC rooms but that was not the case at all, and the breeze was great. Everything about the whole property is top-notch -- I am very finicky from a design point of view and I really loved this place. Very beautiful and natural, and fits into the surrounding environment perfectly. There is not much to do in Troncones itself, so visiting this place is all about enjoying the "compound." The amenities were awesome -- gorgeous pool, boogie boards, bicycles, etc. Everything we needed was there. We spent an amazing week just swimming, relaxing in the hammocks, walking on the beach, playing games, reading, making margaritas... This property is especially good for families or groups of friends who primarily want to spend time with each other, having fun around the property, and making the occasional excursion or day trip around the area. I can't rave enough about the staff, from the local property managers Mariana and alejandro to the extremely friendly folks who cooked and cleaned. For a very small fee we had 2 amazing meals prepared for us each day -- I definitely recommend this, it made our trip so worry-free, and her food was fantastic, especially the chile rellenos! The staff also arranged trips into Zihua/Ixtapa and a day-long snorkeling boat for us, both of which were great. We had such an amazing experience at Casa Majahua. I really have no "criticisms" at all and would not have changed a thing. We will definitely return again soon!

“Beautiful and amazing! Can't wait to Return.”

We were married at Casa Majahua in June 2010 and had an amazing week. From the beginning Denni and Moira were extremely helpful with our wedding planning and put us in touch with some local contacts to assist with the planning. They were always available for support and questions as we moved through our planning process. The staff at the property were amazing as well from offering general day to day assistance to putting in the extra time and effort to make sure the property was picture perfect for our day. We couldn't have asked for more. Our friends and family were stunned by the beauty of the space and the attentiveness of the staff - though the pictures posted are beautiful it is only once you are at Casa Majahua that you can truly appreciate the beauty of the home, its amazing location on the beach, and the awesome staff. The comfortable rooms, lounging space, tips for surrounding activities, games and pool toys to keep us entertained, and amazing kitchen where we could cook together with our family and guests all contributed to an outstanding week. After a few days of clouds and light rain showers our wedding day brought us clear skies and a beautiful day for a ceremony just adding to an already perfect week. We can't wait to return for future vacations and celebrations and would highly recommend Casa Majahua to all!
