“Wow - what a wonderful place ...”

Reviewed 24 Oct 2013

Clean, sumptuous, welcoming, homely - and walk to 2 beaches we did. Perfectly located for access to the Carmel River beach. One day we walked to Point Lobos direct from the house, and on the way back watched the Pelicans gather at the estuary head just before sunset. Very romantic. Peaceful - quite different to the bustle of the touristy part of Carmel centre. I would recommend this home for anyone who likes to cook, as the kitchen is very well appointed - with a huge fridge, loads of utilities and an excellent fan assisted oven. An easy run to the shops - and we found a fresh produce market that runs in Monterey on Fridays. All linens & towels were spotless, and the use of the washer & dryer was excellent as we had been on the road for a couple of weeks. Evenings we sat 'al fresco' for drinks under the gas heater, then retired to the dinning room for dinner. A huge selection of Dvds - including many staring Clint Eastwood (ex-mayor of Carmel) - and great sound system. Heartily recommended. The worst part was having to leave ...

“Great place to stay”

Main house is open, roomy and clean and well-stocked with supplies. Very comfortable. Enjoyed sitting on the front patio (with gas heater) feeding the birds. Owner was very friendly and helpful. Complimentary passes for the Monterey aquarium and Pebble Beach Clubhouse were the best. Don't pass those up! Pretty short walk to the beach and short drive to Ocean ave in downtown Carmel. Close to a lot of interesting things to do - Big Sur, wine tasting, Point Lobos, 17 mile Drive, Monterey, Highway 1, beaches. We'r glad we found this place.

“BeachWalk-Our Carmel by the sea home away from home.”

My husband and I stayed at BeachWalk for the last week of our California honeymoon. We had spent the first weeks enjoying the beautiful but overcrowded Lake Tahoe and Yosemite. As we drove to BeachWalk, the beauty and serenity was fabulous. The home was clean, comfortable and very tastefully decorated in "beach" art decor. We especially enjoyed the beautifully landscaped patio, with its heat lamp(great for the cool nights), comfortable outdoor furniture, and the amazing soaking tub in the master bath! It was also great to be able to cook a few meals after so many days of restaurant eating. The beautiful ceramics and amenities in the kitchen was great for these two foodies! The home was really beautifully situated close to the beaches as stated, and the beaches really are so quiet they feel like they are your private sanctuary. We loved being so close to Big Sur, Monterey, Pebble Beach, and the Mission Ranch. The locals in town were warm to us(New Yorkers stick out like a sore thumb here) and gave us great info to enrich our stay. Philip was very easy to reach when we had some questions, and it is so obvious the love he and Dottie share, as the house was full of love and care. A really great place to stay! We will return the next time we are planning a trip to the area! Note: Carmel has more dogs(and cats) than children. If you are not a pet lover this is not the community for you. And remember it does not get very warm here, so pack warm clothing!

“Quiet get away retreat!”

Our stay at Beachwalk was very pleasant and uncluttered. Truly enjoyed the soaking tub and the privacy of the location. There is plenty to do and see that is very close or you can curl up in a chair and knit or read. The house and all the amenities make you feel like you are at home.

“Perfect house in perfect location”

Reviewed 3 Sep 2011

We stay at Beachwalk in Carmel every year. You can easily walk to both beaches as well as to town, each route along lovely neighborhood streets. The house itself has a wonderfully efficient layout with convenient access to the front, back and side patios from practically every room - and its location on warmer and sunnier Carmel Point means you are more likely to enjoy the patios than in other areas of Carmel. The house is well-appointed but not overly fancy so as to make it uncomfortable for a family with young children. It's light and bright and the recent renovations to the kitchen have only made it more comfortable and functional. The owners are very helpful and responsive to questions or concerns, and they thoughtfully provide local suggestions, an extensive library of movies, beach items, and have even supplied a big basket of toys for the kids. We enthusiastically recommend Beachwalk to another family, and indeed to anyone looking to feel at home in Carmel.

“Very comfortable house”

Reviewed 26 Jul 2011

This was an excellent house to stay in. Very well located and a comfortable place to hang out. The only negative we had was that the fridge had nothing in it at all, not even a tub of margarine or bottle of ketchup, so if we had wanted to do any cooking in the house, we would have had to buy everything That said, I'd rent it again if I were to go back out there.

“What a great location!!!”

We had such a wonderful time staying at this home. The decor was beautiful, the beds were comfortable and we walked to the beach every day! The owners were so helpful in their recommendations and sent us to a restaurant where our kids were able to make their own pizzas! What a joy. We will be back next year!
