“Fantastic experience, extremely quiet out of peak season.”

Reviewed 7 Jan 2014

The property is excellent, in extremely good condition. The staff are friendly, the pool is huge, the beach is fantastic, with horse riding available, the food at the beach bar and at the very informal restaurant down the beach was great. Only small reservation is electricity is not included in the price and felt expensive - we avoided air con etc and it still cost $30 per day.

Response from the owner Thank you for your kind words, Dan, I'm glad that you enjoyed your holiday in my apartment at Cotton Bay and appreciated its gorgeous location on the beach and all it has to offer. I am however concerned about your power bill - it certainly looks to me as though you have been overcharged by the resort. I am trying to get to the bottom of it and if you get in touch with me, I will arrange a refund for you. Best wishes, Valerie.

“great times !”

“great place - recommended”

Reviewed 26 Apr 2013

Valerie is excellent - really helpful and trusting. Staff at resort very friendly, location on atlantic side so good breeze coming in - fun to watch the kite surfers. Food at all locations was good - happy hour at the bar for cocktails always went down well ! We didnt use it as our kids are a bit older, but included kids club seemed to be a favourite for the smaller ones.

“Wonderful quiet location for families”

Reviewed 25 Apr 2013

Hi, we were in St. Lucia with our family (3 kids , 5 and 3 year-olds and a baby). The location is great, the beach and the pool are extraordinary. There are not a lot of people on the resort, so it is really quiet. You don't have to rush early in the morning for a chair around the pool or at the beach, they are always available. Staff are nice and helpful. The appartement is and really close to the pool, which is a big plus for families with young children. There were some things which needed to be fixed in the appartment: the air conditioning was not working in one of the two bedrooms, and the fridge needed to be reset every few days... Just ask the owner about the repair if this is an issue for you. To get food from the grocery store, you either have to rent a car or get a taxi, it is about 15 us$ one way...but there are 2 free shuttles every week as well... The kids club is great and the staff really good with kids. The weather was always perfect...29-30 degrees with a little wind.

Response from the owner Hi Karine, Thank you for taking the time to give me feedback - you will be glad to know that we put in a new air-conditioning unit back in February, we've had no problems since then. The grocery store in the resort has also extended its opening hours since February, so guests don't need to go into Rodney Bay for shopping. I'm delighted that your children enjoyed the free kids club, it makes for a much more relaxing time for parents if the little ones are happy! I will pass on your praise to the hard-working staff. All the best, Valerie.

“Best of both worlds”

Reviewed 25 Apr 2013

We had a fantastic time here! Access to the huge pool from the condo's back terrace, and very close to the lovely beach. The complex has everything to offer, and the beach and surrounding beaches are untouched and quite. The horse rides are a must, and we had a lovely time watching kite surfers from the beach. The condo is lovely, and the staff were more than helpfull in organizing outings on the island.

Response from the owner Thank you Wilhelm. Come again any time! Best wishes to you and your family, Valerie.

“Phenomenal Condo in a phenomenal location!”

Reviewed 24 Apr 2013

Where do I start... My fiance and I spent 7 lovely days in Valerie's 2 bedroom 2 full bathroom condo in Cotton Bay. The staff welcomed us with a tour of the grounds and walked us to Valerie's condo. Valerie's condo comes with every essential item you'll need to enjoy yourself during your stay. If you enjoy a home cooked meal, you'll find pots and pans to cook that great meal. If you need to wash clothes, you can do that too in Valerie's condo. Valerie's condo overlooks the pool, with great shade. Any picture I could post would not do the view justice. If you're interested in spending your days on the beach, there's a quiet beach within a 45 second walk from Valerie's condo, amazing! The staff organized all of our excursions and provided their local advice. My fiance and I are convinced if you're a beach-bum, pool person or adventure seeker, Valerie's condo is the best home base on the island. My fiance and I feel lucky that we were able to experience such a welcoming island, with such great accommodations. P.S. Be sure to ask about the catamaran tour and the boat to Martinique!

Response from the owner Dear Lamar, thank you for taking the trouble to write such a nice review, I'm very glad that you and Allison had a great holiday. Best wishes for your future together! Valerie.

“Amazing condo in St-Lucia (Cotton Bay Village)”

Reviewed 9 Oct 2012

We were looking for a relaxing, trouble-free, family-friendly holiday that would be fun for us and for or two children (2 years and 5 months). The condo sleeps 4 in very comfortable beds, in 2 spacious bedrooms. At night, we would fall asleep to the sounds of the waves and of crickets in the lagoon. The kitchen allowed us to make our own food, which saved us money and gave us some control over our children's nutrition during the holiday. It includes dishwasher, laundry machine, espresso machine and a toaster. It also has some basic cooking gear (a pot, a frying pan, dishes and utensils, a few knives that could have been a little sharper). There is a living-dining area which provided space for the children to play. There is a beautiful view of the pool from the living room. The unit itself is luxurious, clean and well-maintained. The staff is very responsive and accommodating for requests such as for extra towels, housekeeping and laundry services and for other enquiries we had during our stay. Housekeeping costs $65 which includes washing dishes. Wifi is available at the beach bar and wired/wireless router was installed in the condo upon request. It is a basic DSL line, which is fast enough for casual browsing and skype, but slow for watching Youtube videos. Utilities are extra. We were careful in how we used the aC in the 2 bedrooms. We ran the air conditioning at night and during the children's naps, and in the end, we paid $160 for the two weeks. We shut the breakers for the aC units when not in use and adjusted the temperature to a reasonable 77°F (they had it to 55°F when we arrived). We had the ceiling fan in the living room on the whole time. The resort provides cribs and bedding for the children as well as high chairs and baby baths. The pool area has a kiddie pool with about 12" of water for little ones who don't swim yet. The resort has a Kid's Club staffed with friendly, competent child minders. Beach toys are available to borrow as well.

“Delightful and relaxing”

Really enjoyed my time here and would recommend it to others wanting the comfort of home in an exotic environment. Conveniently located, the apartment is lovely and shared facilities very pleasant.

“A truly delightful holiday in a beautiful place, with friendly,”

Reviewed 25 Jul 2012

My husband and I stayed here for a week and enjoyed ourselves enormously. The apartment was in a gorgeous location, right by the beach and i n a small friendly holiday village. We had a great view over the very large pool and it was only a few metres to the stunning beach. Although there was a bit of seaweed at the water's edge, the swimming was very good, in a sheltered bay, and as Cotton Bay Village is the only resort on the bay, it was as good as a private beach, with a complete absence of hawkers pestering you. The apartment was spacious and the second bathroom felt like a real luxury - it offers stunningly good value for money. We went into Rodney Bay a couple of times, to different restaurants but we preferred the beach at Cotton Bay. thanks to the delightful Ginette and Michael for all their helpful suggestions for trips around the island - the sunset cruise to the Pitons was spectacular. We'll be back soon!
