ALOHA LANI is Located On the Puna Coast. A comfortable Large home with OCEAN VIEWS.- Wireless Internet - Cell Phone reception - streaming Netflix on 46 in'' flat screen TV , GAS BBQ. Fully equipped kitchen. Koa and Bamboo wood furniture. Large bathroom with separate toilet room. Set on 3 acres of landscaped property with fruit and ornamental trees. Walk down our private driveway to ocean with coastle nature trails to explore, where turtles and dolphins are often seen. Walk or drive to KEHENA BLACK SAND BEACH about 1.2 miles from us. McKenzie Park is 4 miles away .

6 miles to The New Pohoiki Black Sand Beach created by recent lava flow ,a must

See. There are life gards stations there for swimmers safety on the beach. There

is also a great sheltered pool to swim in.

To see the island we recommend having a rental car. A 4 wheel is not needed but some people choose one for various reasons.

We live on the property in a separate dwelling. Depending on time of your arrival, we will greet you, if you come in late, we will meet you in the morning We are here to familiarize our guests with the home and area, give sight seeing tips if asked. The home is set apart from us so there is a feeling of privacy that we also enjoy. Were always available to answer questions or do what is needed to make your stay a great one.

“Lovely 'Green' home”

We loved our stay in the beautiful eco-friendly green home. It is on one of the most scenic drives right next to various beaches and close to lava viewing area. The home was clean, well kept and had plenty space for the four of us ( teenage kids) Would definitely come back on our next visit to Big Island.

Wonderful people, wonderful area, wonderful property. Rough (rocky) long driveway with two gates, but worth it. ONLY negative was no TV except slow-loading Netflix and DVDs (provided by most accommodating owners). Note that property is an hour from Hilo shopping and sights, nearly 3 hours from Kona Coast water activities. However, very pretty, private, quiet area with loads of flowers, birds, critters and even fresh fruit. Area Sunday Farmers' Market and a local Wednesday evening event are great fun! Very nice ocean view but windward coast is all rock with very "active" water. Down the road are tide pools for snorkeling (high tide best), and a nifty "warming pool"--geothermal heated water. Demanding hike leads to view of molten lava entering ocean. The Volcano Park is an hour away--multiple experiences NOT to be missed!!! Verizon cell coverage is nil, but other (AT&T) service is better. House is well set up, clean, convenient and comfortable. Big windows for trade winds by day and room fans for moving air at night. We spent wonderful 12 nights and highly recommend Chad and Sue's Aloha Lani ocean view home!

What a great location, in a wild and peaceful environment and lovely owners. Ideal to go swimming in quiet and warm tide pools as well as to travel around in the whole south east part of the island including the volcano national park. I would love to come again to discover more... Malaho Chad and Sue and whenever you would like to visit France, don't hesitate to call us!

“Private Quiet Home with great Location”

We were returning to the big island to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary after being here 20 years ago. This property is a great location for exploring the southern part of the island. You can easily get to Hilo and Volcano as day trips and then return to the seclusion and quiet of Chad and Sue's cottage. There are many sights to explore just a half hour's drive along the coast. Tidepools, beach walks, surfing and walking on the lava at Robert's beach area just to name a few. The home has lots of space and very clean and well set up for a family or two couples. We returned from our sight seeing early a couple of days we were there to enjoy the setting with the view of the ocean between the palms in the distance. Great views at sunrise and sunset. Suppers on the lanai were great even if it was showering. We were very happy to visit with Sue on a couple of occasions. Such a delightful person. All the correspondence was handled in a very prompt manner and instructions on the access was great as was the binder with local restaurant and other tips. We arrived after dark in the pouring rain and had no trouble following the instructions provided. Sue had left us a note to contact when we arrived to show us around which was a nice touch. Also when we left they brought us a sampling of the produce from their garden. I have never seen such a large avacado. Thanks Chad and Sue

“Quiet seclusion”

My wife, daughter and I felt extremely lucky to have chosen this place for a brief stay. House is spacious and well maintained, and gives the impression of being far from anywhere (although it's not, really). A wonderfully peaceful spot on the south coast of the Big Island, surrounded by lush vegetation, well back from the main road, and close to the now solidified black lava that flowed into the sea in quite recent times. 'Amazing' is greatly overused these days, but that particular view certainly comes into that category. We have no hesitation in recommending this property. Sue and Chad ensured that we had everything we needed, and left us largely to ourselves.

Our stay here was the epitome of relaxation. It was great to disconnect from everything for a few days and simply relax. The owners (Chad & Sue) are fantastic, and offered us fresh fruit on arrival. They also gave us great information on where to eat and cool places to visit in the surrounding area. If we ever make it back to Hawaii, we would stay here again.

“Wonderful big island vacation home off the beaten path”

This was a wonderful place to stay on the east side of the island. The home is spacious and comfortable, the property beautifully landscaped. Chad and Sue live nearby on the property and were wonderful hosts. We stayed a week, and spent most of our time out and about seeing the sites all over the island, which was a shame we didn't have more time to just relax and enjoy the home and property. There are many beautiful views close by as well. The property is definitely off the beaten path so to speak, down a wonderfully twisty ocean side road, Kapoho Kalapana road which most probably miss, but no one should in my opinion. This is a remote location with lots of nature, lots of mongoose, birds, geckos, etc! Wonderful views from the black volcanic cliffs, black sand beaches nearby, volcanic heated tidal pools, etc. The washer/dryer and clothes lines came in handy, as did the cooler for our trips out. Full kitchen and a BBQ grill also, though we didn't have time to cook for ourselves this trip. :) Also, Boogie Woogie Pizza in Pahoa is not to be missed, as well as the Thai restaurant in Volcano, outstanding!

This rental was absolutely perfect for our stay in the Puna district. It is secluded yet close to all the "good stuff" and is family friendly. The house is well maintained and the yard is amazing.Chad and Sue live close by and are very easy going and helpful, I wish we could have spent more time getting to know them. This area is not very touristy but that makes it all the better in our opinion. The coast line, a short walk from the house is very rugged and beautiful. Don't miss the nearby swing where you can sit and be mesmerized by the relentless wave action exploding against the cliffs. I hope we can someday return to this rental.

This is a great condo/sfh! Very well kept and on beautiful grounds. Prepare to feel what it's like to live in the Hawaii of long ago! While it's a secluded location, it's not that far from Hilo, a great place to shop and take in the local culture. Chad and Sue are very freindly people and will make sure your stay is relaxing. We're coming back as soon as we can.

My brother and I spent 10 nights here in October and loved it. We had never been to Hawaii or the us before and chose the house based upon the pictures and reviews. We couldn't have been happier with the choice, the house is wonderful. Quiet, well appointed, spotlessly clean and situated in an amazing tropical garden. There are all sorts of little details in the house that made our stay easier and Chad and Sue have clearly put a lot of thought into making guests feel comfortable and happy. It served as a good base to see the sights along the red road and Puna coast and is near enough to make day trips to the Volcano National Park or Hilo easy. Chad and Sue are great hosts and we would definitely stay there again. I would recommend that you print out and bring Chad and Sue's directions with you as we would have found it very difficult to find if we did not have them.
