“Honeymoon in heaven!”

Reviewed 26 May 2010

We could not have stayed in a more beautiful place than Hale O'Wailele. The property is located in a peaceful and quiet area, hidden from the busy parts of Kapaa town. There was a huge bowl of fresh fruit picked from the farm awaiting our arrival. The pool and patio are beautiful, and you can relax in the whirlpool at the end of a busy day. The view of the mountains is so magnificent, it looks like they are at the end of the backyard. The house is very cozy, and Dejon's parents are the perfect hosts. We cannot wait to go back with friends and family!

Hale O'Wailele lived up to our expectations and even more! It was absolutely so beautiful - it was hard to leave each day to explore the island. It was so gorgeous and peaceful! After a day of exploring paradise it was unbelievable to come home to your very own piece of paradise. We loved the chickens and the kitties - they were very entertaining and made it feel very homey. We were very well taken care of by Dejon and her mom. The place was immaculate upon our arrival and we were loaded with fresh fruit in the kitchen! The views from the backyard looked like paradise and the pool and waterfall was just beautiful! When searching for a vacation rental for our 20th anniversary we were wanting a secluded romantic getaway and we got just that with Hale O'Wailele! But it serves great as a family getaway as well. Next time we want to bring the kids to share this little piece of paradise with them. Thank you Dejon for sharing your home.

“Beautiful location, great alternative to resort vacations!”

Reviewed 9 May 2010

We had fantastic personalized service from the first inquiry about staying here! The home was absolutely gorgeous, even decorated for our stay over the holidays. Pool area is beautiful and peaceful. We wanted to be away from the traffic and crowds by the usual resorts, and this was perfect. Isolated location, beautiful views and peaceful. House was fully stocked for all of our needs, including beach and kitchen supplies. You do have to be prepared for the wildlife that comes with this location, though -- geckos both in and out of the house. They're harmless but appear quite often in the house. If you aren't expecting them, it could be a big surprise! This location was a great central point to explore both the north and south sides of the island. It's a short 10 minute drive to the main highway -- didn't seem far at all. Our family of five (three teenage children) loved the privacy, and still found it easy to see and do everything we had planned. We truly felt at home -- like we weren't just visitors. The owners were very available and willing to help with anything we needed. If you're looking for a unique island experience, you should definitely consider this rental home!

“A place of many dreams, a place where they come to life.”

From the onset,Deejon, our host, went way beyond the call of duty by not only answering all of our questions in regards to the rental, but also helping to plan our trip with us. It was great to have someone on site who knew all the do's and don'ts of the Island. What a great place to stay, so strategically located, midway to everything!! And talk about a home away from home...Wow!! We were so happy and comfortable with the facilities that some mornings would just drift away in to early afternoon before we even realized it!! Nothing quite like starting your day with a good cup of coffee out in the back yard around the beautiful pool area watching and feeding the fish. Everything we wanted or could have needed was available to us, including a garage full of toys and such for any activity you could dream up. We loved our trip to Kauai, and we believe that Dejon has a lot to do with making this a reality. Our only regret... we did not meet her in person... yet!! Next year!!!

“Busy, Fun, Extraordinary!”

Loved your place. Everyone had a great time. Loved the pool and the hot tub and the pool and the hot tub and the pool...goats, toads...great. Must come back and stay longer, was just too short. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

“Paradise with waterfalls”

Our stay at Hale O' Wailele was wonderful. The property and house were very comfortable and accomodating. We found everything we needed to make our stay enjoyable. The house is well stocked with everything you would need for a beach outing, hiking and even mountain biking. The owners make you feel quite at home and supply you with various fruits and vegetables grown right on the property. The house is located in a secluded area away from the hotel crowds giving you a sense of the real Kauai. We enjoyed staying in the Kapaa area because it is centrally located making it easy to get to all areas of the island. I would highly recommend this property.

“A Piece of Paradise”

Reviewed 1 May 2010

We have enjoyed Hale O'Wailele twice, the first time in April 2008, returning in Sept. 2009 for a longer stay. What we loved most: The location is so peaceful, waterfalls in the mountains after the rain; the landscaping above the pool with it's own waterfall; the pool itself with the cobalt tiles is like swimming in your own grotto. The fish and toads in the koi pond are entertaining as are the three outdoor cats who come around. The most important perk of this property is you can rent the whole property except for the two extra bedrooms and bath and save a pile of money; you're not paying for what you're not using. Everything you need is provided: Two hot tubs, bikes, all beach gear, gym room, more kitchen gadgets than you'll ever use, etc. The place is so clean and comfortable. The only thing that they could improve on would be minor updates to the master bath and kitchen. We will keep going back to this piece of paradise.

Everything promised to us was there and more. If I were to say everything I loved about this beautiful home it would take me all night. So, All I can say to you is, work hard to go on the most fabulous and memorable vacation you will ever have.

My husband I spent 3 weeks on Kauai in April of last year. It was our honeymoon and my 50th. Although April was a little cooler then we had hoped for, it's Kauai so really who can complain. Our first 13 days we stayed in Princeville, we rented a beautiful townhouse right on the cliffs over looking the beautiful pacific. We had wanted to stay our whole time there, but it wasn't available for the entire three weeks, so I looked for another place to stay and found House of Leaping Waterfalls. We were a little sad to be leaving the cliff location with our beautiful view, really didn't know what was in store for us at H.O.L.W. Pictures were lovely, but you never know. I cannot begin to describe how elated we were when we arrived and saw the location. It was like we had landed in paradise. Everything you need and more! Beautiful kitchen with everything you need to make gourmet meals. Bikes, and beach accessories galore. Seriously amazing! Although we were not on the beach we had to pull ourselves away from this place! Amazing jacuzzi, pool, gym, and total privacy. Dejon was lovely and very helpful with all of our booking needs. And well, we just fell in love with her parents, Noreen and Paul, who live up the hill and look after everything and make sure you're comfy and cozy. We have told everyone about this place, and when they see our pictures, no one can believe how blessed we were to have found such an amazing and beautiful piece of paradise. If you're looking for fancy smansy, Hilton, Hyatt, 5 star accommodations, this may not be the place for you, but if your looking for your own piece of heaven, that's very clean, lovely, and comfortable, with total privacy, and all the amenities you could ever need, and views and vistas that you'll dream about for the rest of your life, you won't be disappointed. My husband and I truly wished that we had stayed there the whole 3 weeks. Leaving was extremely difficult and sad for us, not just the island, but mostly the H.O.L.W.

“Fantastic, everything we'd hoped it would be”

Wow, private pool, water fall, hot tubs, monster sized master bedroom. Away from all of the tourists. Nestled into an amazing, beutiful valley. Steller hosts. We've been discussing this house for our next group trip. We booked it for our honeymoon and couldn't have picked a better rental. Centrally located. We covered nearly every inch of the island. Drove 600 miles in our rental jeep. Dined at Ono Family Restaurant daily for breakfast. Grilled in every other night at the rental. Already looking forward to our next visit out there!
