“An amazing week at Villa Santorini in Imerovigli”
Where do we begin! My wife and I along with another couple just spent an amazing week in Santorini at the Villa Santorini, celebrating our wives 50th birthdays. The Villa was absolutely more than we expected and worth it. The location of this Imerovigli gem was spectacular, views were out of this world facing the caldera, the beautiful blue sea and the nearby villages of Firostefani and Fira. Accommodations were superb, offering well appointed bedrooms, living rooms, dining room, kitchen and bathrooms with daily housekeeping. Imagine getting up every morning and sitting outside on one of 3 decks with cup of Greek coffee or local wine, a quick dip in the mini pool and off touring with shopping and dining close by, we couldn't ask for more. I want to thank the owner and his staff for making this a special week for us (especially our wives) as well as the process in renting the villa easy and detailed. Perry & Laura
Response from the owner Dear Perry and Laura, We are thrilled to hear about how much you all enjoyed the villa, and we hope these magical memories stay with you all for a long time! Thank you so much for sharing your experience and we certainly hope to be able to welcome you back in the future! All the Best, Susan and John
“Awesome, Beautiful - Villa Santorini”
Our family stayed at Villa Santorini for a week in august 2013. Before our arrival the owners communicated with detail what to expect, things to see and even helped us with travel information for our stop-over in athens. The villa was everything as promised. You have to stop on your arrival and just take a few deep breaths at the beauty of the natural surroundings. The view is one of the best we found on the caldera. The villa is spacious and updated. Pool is what you would expect, small but clean and cool but the view is not what you would expect - the most spectacular I can recall in my many travels around the world. The furniture was updated and villa was well decorated. Even have a good sound system and better internet than we have in our home in USa. Good CD collection too and iPhone hookup to play your own tunes. The bathrooms were small but what do you expect, you are on a cliff living in a cave. They were functional and it was very nice have 3 of them with a family of 6. The housekeeping was excellent and we had no worries about a clean place to return to after our day trips around the island. Vanda kept us busy and spent a lot of time with us on our arrival planning and scheduling private boat tour (a must do), day trip to Ios, sunset in Oia etc. . . We would highly recommend Villa Santorini for family, couples and anyone wanting to have a peaceful and beautiful place to stay in Santorini.
“Beautiful Caldera View Villa”
My husband and I just returned from our third trip to Santorini and we had a wonderful experience. In the past we stayed at hotels both in Imerovigli and Fira, however this time we decided to rent a private villa. This was my first experience renting a private home through an online booking site so I was a bit cautious, however both John and Susan made the transaction very smooth and maintained open communication with me regarding any questions or concerns I had. We prefer to stay in Imerovigli, so the location was perfect! The villa is situated along the cliffside overlooking the caldera with a breathtaking view of the sunset. The villa is tastefully decorated with upscale furnishings and thoughtful touches throughout. The rooms/living areas/bathrooms are spacious. The showers are typical European size, but that was expected. To have a shower at all is great since some hotels only come with tubs. The best view is from the pool! It "hangs" over the cliff overlooking the village and the caldera while keeping you cool and relaxed. Housekeeping came daily to make the beds and provide fresh towels. Vanda was very gracious and available to call anytime! The villa is within walking distance to restaurants, markets, car rental and the walking path to Fira. The walk to Firostefani and Fira from the villa is about 20/25 minutes. We loved the evening walk to Fira for dinner and shopping, beautiful views along the path. There is also a church located near the villa that offers magnificent sunset views with great photo opportunities. Thank you for the hospitality and for sharing your home with my family.
We spent a week at Villa Santorini in July and loved every minute of it. There are 7 of us (2 adults and 5 children aged 16 to 8) and there was plenty of room. The villa's white stone interior is elegant and cool. It was hot every day we were there and we barely needed to use the air-con. The view is breathtaking. Over the course of the week we looked at the island from many angles and I'm not sure there is any better view than that from the breakfast courtyard/pool at this villa. And Imerovigli is definitely the pick of the locations to stay. We almost chose Fira, but it is a little hectic at times. Imerovigli has the view and tavernas and atmosphere, without the bustle. The pool is not large (and it is due for a re-tiling) but it is plenty big enough to cool off. It also has the rare Santorini distinction of not being overlooked by those above and around. John and Susan were great with all communications. Plenty of helpful info and very efficient with email responses. Vanda who welcomes you and lets you in) is a goldmine of local information and can't do enough to help.
“A little slice of Heaven”
What a great find! While surfing the web on my quest to find a place where three couples could comfortably stay in Santorini, I somehow stumbled upon Villa Santorini. What luck!Aside from the absolutely breath-taking views, the convenience was beyond our expectations. We could walk almost anywhere from the villa, and the restaurants in the area were perfect. Vanda, our hostess and guide for the week, made sure we knew what was available in the area, booked reservations for us and made us feel comfortable in a place we were unfamiliar with. I can't think of any negatives ... At all! Perfect house, perfect location, perfect vacation!
“Perfect Perch on Santorini”
We just wanted to thank you, belatedly, for a wonderful stay. The house worked perfectly for our family of five ages 1.5 to 65 and I recommend it highly. The location, the views, the aesthetic were all just right. We delighted in walking to the local markets and bakery, sampling local specialties (Tsipou Raki!) and eating on any of the three decks gazing over the Caldera where both the sunrise and sunset were a marvel. The beds were firm (no small thing) and despite the openness of the views we felt a real sense of privacy.Walking to Fira was a breeze (even with a toddler and a three year old) but it was perfect to be in Imerovigli at a remove from the hubub and tourist onslaught. Eating places overlooking the water including the Imerovigli tavern nearby and the lovely (and generous) family run Flame of the Volcano on the outskirts of Fira were high points. The homes location (and the helpful alta car rental along with ubiquitous cheap cabs) made visiting other points very easy -- our trips to Oia/Amoudi (for sunset and dinner right on the water) as well as more remote black sand beaches and the still-warm-in-October aegean were standouts. The photos do not do the place justice, though it is a pleasure to have the surprise be in the right direction!!
“Best family vacation ever!”
Our group of 7 stayed at the villa the last week in August and loved every minute of our stay. Two 21 year olds and two preschoolers under the age of four included. The villa was beautiful and had everything we needed. The view was as promised and the local village had very friendly shop owners, great resturants and a bakery. You could rent a car easily to go to near by beaches or to explore the wineries. Would recommend the villa and hope to return again. They do have daily housekeeping service which was nice and also Vanda the caretaker to meet you and tell you about great things to do. Vanda also saved the day when we forgot a passport in the cab on the way to the airport, she called the cab company and they brought it to the airport so we didnt miss the flight. My nephew who is two still says, "you want to go to the villa" "ok lets go to the villa" we all have great memories of this vacation
“Wow, what a cool place. What a great vacation!”
The view is stunning, the villa is really well- appointed, Vanda the caretaker is sweet and a huge help. Having a kitchen and clothes washer is a big bonus. The outdoor areas of the villa are a great place to hang out -- there are so many outdoor levels that everybody has their own space if they want it. I loved the location because there were plenty of restaurants and places to buy what you need, etc. and yet you weren't taken over by crowds when the cruise ships came in (if you want that, the town of Fira is close by). Also, if you ever need to rent a car, the car place is close and really friendly. Anyway, you won't be disappointed. Wish we were still there!
“Paradise Found at Villa Santorini”
I knew the villa looked beautiful from the website but my daughter summed it up best on arrival when she said, "This is so much better than I thought it was going to be." From then on we had the best time. It was like living in paradise for a week. The villa was beautiful and comfortable. The view breathtaking. Vanda was incredibly helpful and the people of Santorini were warm and friendly. We all thought the villa was in the perfect location, near enough to easily get to anything, food, rentals, restaurants, yet far enough away so you didn't feel like you were in the middle of town. I highly recommend Villa Santorini. When we were leaving I thought I should have stayed another week! Ann Shuch
Magical. There are so many words to describe our experience but magical is the one that describes it the best. The magic began when the manager escorted us to the property. WOW! It is absolutely amazing. The pictures on the website do not do it justice. The property has been renovated and decorated extremely well. You can tell the owners put a lot of time, effort, and money into this house. I was very hesitant booking a house through the internet, through people I did not know. This was the best decision I have ever made. The owners were so helpful even before I committed to rent the house. When we arrived, the manager sat with us for about 30 minutes recommending where to go and what to see. The manager was always available, and the owners were accessible via e-mail. The location was fantastic. The town is about a 30-40 minute (beautiful) walk to Fira (away from the busy streets and tourist) and about a 20 drive to Oia. If you are staying in Santorini for more than a week I would highly recommend renting this house...you will have privacy, views, space, and will not be disappointed! Pete, San Francisco, CA
