Thank you to the owners for supplying us with everything we could possibly require for a beach vacation. Your attention to detail is exceptional. The use of the beach towels to the usage of snorkel and surf gear made the difference. Just meant one less thing for us to worry about. Your home is the cleanest ... Hats off to your wonderful cleaners. This is certainly Kona Paradise.. In comparison to the other islands we found the local people the kindest right here, the culture and authenticity to be real, and the natural habitat fascinating. We will be back. Thank you again for the the phenomenal hospitality...
“Adventure, Comfort, Paradise and Relaxation”
We loved staying in your comfortable home, grilling on the Lanai, watching the spectacular sunsets while sipping a glass of wine. We love Black Pebble Beach only 2 minutes by car. Our favorite beach was Hookena about 10 minutes. Thank you for the snorkeling gear and sand chairs. A pod of 17 Spinner dolphins swam along side me and it was thrilling! Our friends joined us and we had adventures to Volcano National Park and we hiked the 4.6 mile trail and then we went to the Green Sand Beach and we hopped in a truck with a local for a terrific and fun tour. Defintely worth the 15 dollars/person! We all enjoyed the Island Breeze Luau. We also visited the Painted Church, Kealakekua Bay and had Dark Chocolate Donkey Balls! We even saw a Zebra! Mahalo Michele and Ronald!!! We certainly plan on returning!!!
“Outstanding Home, Would Stay Here again”
This rental is better than described. The pictures don't do it justice. Our stay was comfortable and fantastic!!! The view was gorgeous! The house is clean, well equipped with all the comforts home. Michele and Ron have thought of everything! The house is walking distance to the beach and an easy drive to other local beaches, dining, local shopping and more.
“"I must be dreaming!"”
We were so lucky to come across this Gem! It was our first time on Kona and not sure where we should stay. I was searching online and came across Kona-Leilani. The interior & exterior is beautiful. I was impressed how efficient and helpful they were answering all my questions. The landscape is gorgeous the views are amazing and the location is perfect! It's within walking distance to a beautiful black pebble beach and lots of hiking trails. Let me add that as you scroll through the photos of this property online I'm sure you're thinking what a lovely home but wait until you drive up to the horseshoe driveway, it's stunning! I believe they put all their heart & soul into making sure your stay is one you will cherish forever! We enjoyed every minute of our stay at Kona-Leilani. Thank you! =) Mahalo!
“Eco friendly and Eco conscience..”
I was looking for a very Hawaiian flavor of a house. My husband found this for us and it was just what I was hoping for. It was not only consumer friendly but environmentally friendly. The upper area is all windows that fans from below pull in the cool air. Our grandson loved watching the geckos around the lanai and in the nearby trees. The house was well equipped and user friendly to all family members in our party. The view was amazing. Thanks to the owners and caretakers for the cleanliness and amenities. It is a beautiful and roomy house.
“Beautiful Hawaiian Vacation and Gorgeous Home in Central Locatio”
We had the time of our lives at your home, Kona Leilani. To start with we were thrilled with the drive to the home; there were lush green landscapes with breataking ocean views. The property itself was easy to find and as we entered we saw an array of gorgeous plants from palms to bromeliads. Once upstair, sitting on the lanai, we are awestruck by the oceanic vistas. We could see 40 miles to sea and 20 miles north with a 180 degree view. The private beach, 2 min. from the house, with crystal clear water and schools of tropical fish. We explored "King's Trail, that ran along the beach which was in the neighborhood. The hike was wonderful; we saw beautiful lava formations and black sand beaches. The home was everything we could ask for. The kitchen is completely stocked with newer appliances. Tv, furnishings and murals really gave us a feel of the Hawaiian. As far as beautiful beaches there are several within 20 minutes of the house, as well as the City of Refuges, coffee and macadamia nut plantations. And only an hour south we went to South Point and the sweet quaint town of Naheluu. (We gorged ourselves on their famous malasadas.) The South Kona area is diverse and filled with countrysides. As guests of Kona Leilani, we got a 20% discounts to the manta ray dive and Hula Kai tour boat (with Fair Winds charters.)It was incredible to see those large manta rays so close in the nighttime water. On our fifth day, we drove north to visit several white sand beaches beneath the Mona Kea Volcano. We were given a list of suggested local restuarants which were 10- 20 min. distances. Captain Cook town was a pleasant stop as well. Thank you, Kona Leilani, for making our Hawaiian vacation one we will never forget. We will look forward to returning as soon as possible!
“The Perfect Hawaiian Retreat”
We loved our stay . . . the views were magnificent! and the home decor and grounds were wonderful. Everything we needed was available for our use. We visited 2-step and South Point from this location and of course, a coffee plantation. If you drive down the hill there is also a small quiet beach with some hiking. The weather was beautiful - sunny, light breezes to keep things comfortable. Would recommend this home for families or extended families as there is a separate living area downstairs. Mahalo for making our stay in Kona special! Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Response from the owner Thank you so much for your kind and generous comments. We are so happy that you had a wonderful time in Kona and enjoyed your stay in our Kona Leilani home. We hope you return and we will be happy to accommodate your family and friends. In the meantime, keep those memories of the view from the lanais in your hearts.....it is so precious. We wish you the best, Michele and Ron
“Spacious tropical comfort zone!”
Home was spacious for 3 couples and 2 grandsons. From the lanai were sweeping ocean views. Comfortable beds and plenty of towels. Fully equipped kitchen had all of our needs--even a rice cooker! The tropical breeze kept the house nice and cool! All of the trees and plants made it like a private getaway! Would highly recommend!
“Relaxing tropical country experience.”
We just spent 10 fun filled days at Kona Leilani with our 4 grandchildren and their parents. The house and setting was perfect for an extended family. Michele was wonderful to work with when I made arrangements and provided valuable information to make our visit more comfortable. She was also readily available during our stay and follow-up. Kona Leilani is a beautiful home, well maintained and decorated with original art work. Everything we needed for a comfortable stay was available. We loved the view, gardens, porches and comfort and the kids loved the geckos, internet and TV. We loved the two levels of porches for outdoor living... and the view is great! The tropical garden was refreshing and provided lots of entertainment with geckos and birds. Kona Leilani is in a country setting so travel is required for most activities. Pebble Beach at the bottom of the hill was beautiful but too rough for swimming or snorkeling when we were there. The only negative was a rooster that was the proverbial "early bird".
“Welcome in paradise - it feels like home!”
We spent one week in this beautiful vacation home and felt perfectly at home. Michele and Ron provided us with helpful lists, tips and photos beforehand, so that we were well informed when we arrived. Check-in was easy and done by ourselves. The house is located at a steep road, surrounded by a wonderful tropical garden and had a breathtaking view to the ocean. We loved to sit on the great lanai for breakfast or dinner, enjoying the view and the colorful funny geckos and birds around. The house is well equipped and beautiful decorated, very cozy and we felt comfortable and utterly welcome. Good shopping facilities for daily supplies within 20-30 minutes drive. Attractions such as Volcano NP, Black Sand Beach or the nice sandy beaches in the northwest require one to two hours drive, but are absolutely worth the effort. The lava tour with Chris arruda (2,5 hours drive in the night, started at 3.15 am at the end of highway 130) was our highlight - strenuous but a once in a liftime experience. Mahalo Larry (the housekeeper's husband) for helping us with our car on Easter Sunday morning, when the motor decided not to start on our way to the airport. We were on time due to your help! It was hard to leave and only the prospect to a week on Maui eased the farewell to that home in paradise. Mahalo Michelle and Ron for sharing it with us!
