“Place has that homey feeling as soon as you step through the doors.”

Reviewed 20 Nov 2016

The place was great. Not my first time at the Yacht Club but the unit had a fantastic king bed which was decorated absolutely adorable with fish bedspread. The 2nd bedroom went unused but had the cutest bedspreads ever! The police are right on top of everything with the boaters. One blasting their music in the cove were dealt with fast. Dealing with the owner and the unit itself I give 5 stars. Beyond the owners control though I give it a 3. The local kids from the public park next door trashed our pool Thursday night. My husband and I fished out all the paper and debri from the pool itself, but with netting on the infiniti overflow section, broken beer bottle and lots of trash we figured the pool maintenance should deal with the rest. Another renter made calls, so I followed, in hopes of swimming that day. The other women was told he would arrive in 2 hours. I guessed he would not show up until the next day. I was correct. We lost our last full day of pool use. I told the young man he was a day late and a dollar short! So our last evening was Friday and the park next door had over 8 bus loads to watch fireworks. Another couple from Oklahoma and ourselves stayed out very late to make sure those kids did not try to sneak into the pool since the park was loaded with locals. Would not mind if they treated it with respect, but they did not. I was washing dried ketchup off the pavers and they had french fries literally stuck to the other pavers on top of the jaccuzi. I would not let this stop me from renting here though. I was told you should "ask them where their mother is?" So I will rent at Kaibo again, but I'll watch for trespassers, because the owners themselves are usually not even on the island and are helpless. But Unit A3 is awesome!

Response from the owner First of all I want to say thank you for taking the time to write a review. Secondly I did contact the condo association with your concerns. I appreciate your feed back and I am thankful that your overall stay was good.

“PERFECT!!!!!!!”

Reviewed 3 Nov 2016

We loved the condo,, and love Grand Cayman Tammey and John have such a nice place to stay. Everything that you need is in this spacious 2 bedroom condo. Wake up in the morning to the view of the beach, the short walk to snorkel at Starfish Point, and the restaurant right next door. The wonderful information that Tammey sent was so helpful to plan our days. We dove a couple of times and did a lot of snorkeling. The only downside, which there is nothing about the condo that has a downside, is that it does take awhile to get anywhere. So a car is a must if you want to see the island. If you are travelling with young children, and want a perfect place to be on the beach, this is the place. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. Clean, spacious, very well equipped. I honestly do not have a bad thing to say.

Response from the owner Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review we really appreciate it and we are so glad your trip was good.

“Great family vacation!”

Reviewed 6 May 2014

My wife and I took our boys (5 and 6) to stay at the Kiabo condo for Spring break/Easter. We could not have asked for a better vacation. The condo was perfect - 2 bedrooms, on the first floor, and steps away from the pool. The condo has everything you need - inclduing a washer and dryer, which allowed us to travel lightly. Kiabo is the "other side" of the island and about an hour from Seven Mile beach. However, between Star Fish Point, Rum Point, and the beach at the condo - there are plenty of options. We did not miss the Seven Mile scene at all! There are great places to eat and plenty to do in Kiabo. One recommendation - make sure you rent a car to be able to get around. You might be able to get by without it, but being able to go out to eat, go to the store, and explore the island is well worth the cost. The owner is accessible and provides a ton of good informtion. Just ask. Mrs. Barbara is the on-site manager, and was always available with a call or text and was very kind. A final note - the value of renting the condo is very reasonable, but Cayman is generally expensive. My wife and I were prepared, but I can see how some people would be shocked at the prices. For a family our size - you really need to budget at least $150 us or more a day for food, not including alcohol. That is assuming you only eat out 1 meal a day and plan your other meals at the condo accordingly.

“Great location”

Reviewed 12 Dec 2013

We stayed at the condo in November and had a fantastic time. The unit was perfect for our family of 4 as the kids could play on the beach every day. John provided all the details of everything we could possible need. We highly recommend this rental.

“Beachfront Bliss”

Reviewed 31 Mar 2013

There is nothing not to love about this gorgeous condo. My husband and I spent 10 days here in February, a welcome reprieve from the deep freeze of Wisconsin in winter. My parents joined us for five of those nights, and we took advantage of all the "extras" provided by the owner. We grilled outside the patio, swam in the infinity pool, walked the beachfront, and cooked in the well-equipped kitchen. Best of all, the kitchen, living room, master bedroom, and patio all feature expansive ocean views. We loved the screened-in patio, which has a great table and 4 chairs for reading, playing games, or catching up over breakfast. A few notable highlights: the Kaibo Beach Bar is next door, and on two nights, we walked over and ordered food to bring back and enjoy on our own patio. The condo comes with several bicycles and a huge stack of beach towels. Best of all, it's 1.1 mile (according to our GPS unit) from Rum Point, an easy 20-minute walk or 3-minute drive. Everything was flawlessly clean, from the interior of the unit, to the pool/hot tub area, to the beach. Also, we were really impressed by the property manager, Barbara. Our first full day at the condo, the unit above us was blasting music (full of F-bombs and drug references) at 9:30am. A quick phone call to Barbara had the music off in 30 minutes. The furniture and decor is beautiful yet functional. The condo felt like home from the moment we walked in the door. If you're looking to stay on the quiet side of Grand Cayman, this is absolutely the place to be.

“Just Great!”

Reviewed 27 Aug 2012

My wife, son and I spent a great 9 days in Grand Cayman. The condo was great; well-stocked with plenty of towels, beach toys, snorkel equipment, etc... literally it does have everything you need; location is superb! Overall we had a great experience with John, the condo is very well kept. We would definitely go again to this place. Thank you John!

“Perfect mix of fun and relaxation for the family”

Reviewed 30 Jun 2012

Spent an amazing week in John's condo the week before Easter with our two girls, ages 5 and 8. Prior to our trip, John was extremely helpful in providing directions, tips, and responding to my questions. Driving on the left side of the road was not as bad as we thought, so don't worry about having to rent a car to drive up to this beautiful location! We stopped for groceries on the way and if we didn't feel like cooking, could just get lunch or dinner at Kaibo next door. The condo was great: very clean, well-equipped with beach towels, snorkel gear, even laundry detergent! I spent every morning on the screened porch with a cup of coffee or two - no need to rush to reserve any beach chairs! We often had the pool to ourselves, and for swimming in the ocean, could walk to Starfish Beach (yes, you'll see lots of starfish), or 5 minute drive to Rum Point, which is beautiful. This is the first vacation with kids that I've actually returned relaxed! One of the better memories is driving into Georgetown for a submarine ride, then coming up to see 5 cruise ships full of people just swarming and looking hot and overwhelmed - so thankful to drive back to the peace and quiet of Kaibo! The only negative I would say is that near the end of the week, they put up a fence between the condo and the beach in preparation for many campers over Easter weekend. Fortunately, we left Friday and didn't have to deal with a blocked view for too long, but my suggestion is to avoid that week/end. Thanks to John for a great experience - we highly recommend!

“What a great place!”

Condo was excellent and in great location. Very low key and beautiful view. Owner was very helpful on things to bring, restaurants and activities. Would rent again.

“Very clean, very well appointed condo”

Nice condo in a small complex. Very nice to have the screened lanai. Steps from the small pool within the complex, and very handy to Kaibo Club. Great option for families with small children.

“Relaxing and beautiful vacation in the Caymans!”

Reviewed 28 Apr 2012

The service was very good as we accidentally locked ourselves out and had an immediate response. Johns condo was well equipped, clean, spacious and very comfortable. We especially appreciated the filtered water tank and cel phone. Our only complaint was the beachfront. We are very much beach people enjoying daily water sports and like to be in the water every day. I do not recommend swimming in the water in front of the condo as with all the boats there the water is not clear and the water bottom was not sandy. The positive was Rum Point beach was a very short drive down the road. We thoroughly enjoyed this beach (even on days cruise ships and locals days). We got there every day around 9:30-10:00 and had our pick of the best location/chairs on the beach. There are water sports and a restaurant so we were well taken care of. Lastly, we were there Easter weekend so wired fencing was set up in front of the condos to secure access to the condo since tent city is directly next door(2 days a year the caymans are allowed to camp next door and we were there for this). We would have appreciated a heads up on this as the beginning of the trip was tainted by this(looking at wired fencing) however this was removed as soon as the holiday was over and the view was then beautiful. John was very responsive/accommodating and we would recommend his place as long as you are nt looking a beachfront you can swim in.
