“We Did Not Want To Leave”

Reviewed 5 Jul 2015

Our family of eight, stayed at Villa Seashell for one week. We were looking for a location that the family could spend a week together in the Caribbean in a location that provided plenty of room for living inside and out, and was in an area that we could do some touring and exploring. We found it! Villa Seashell is beautiful. The house and grounds are in a beautiful setting on a cliff overlooking the ocean. The terrace and pool look out onto the ocean, and there are magnificent views from every one of its many windows. The house is spacious with a great layout allowing for privacy when you want it. It is clean, airy (we had no need of AC), well appointed, elegant yet comfortable. The living room opens up completely to the terrace with breathtaking view of the ocean. The kitchen was large enough several people to coordinate meal preparation, and very well equipped. We were very happy that we chose not to stay in the city and felt that it made our trip that much more special. There are so many great beaches in the area, including a beach down the street in Coral Estates itself and we had so much fun snorkeling at as many of them as we had time for. The restaurant in Coral Estates, Karakter, was a beautiful place to eat in the evening. The tables are right beside the ocean on the beach and they had live music. As a suggestion, have your list ready and do your grocery and liquor shopping at Centrum market before you get to the Villa.

“A wonderful house, in a secure and beautiful environment.”

The house is spacious and clean with a refreshing swimming pool.It is located on a luxurious and private resort. The town Willemstad is only a 20 minutes drive. Everything was like promised on the website. I don't know more to say, only that I recommend this home and island to everybody who wants to visit the Caribbean!

“A real find.”

We had a spectacular week. A New Year's Eve to remember. Beautiful perfectly appointed house in a brilliant location for the island. Close enough to anything by car and a short walk to a beautiful beach and great restaurant. We lacked for nothing.

“A Great Place to stay”

Reviewed 17 Jan 2014

This was our families first time to Curacao so we where unfamiliar as to where to stay. But staying here was an excellent choice. The view is spectacular! We ate the majority of our meals on the back patio where we could watch the sunset and the ocean. We enjoyed watching the lights of the ships after dark. Linda Lou was very helpful and stayed in touch with us during our stay. We needed a few extra blankets and she had them there the next day. The house is very comfortable and spacious and everything that the pictures show. A dive shop is within walking distance, which made it nice for our boys who scuba drive. We always felt safe in the neighborhood and never had any type of trouble with noise or theft. We very much enjoyed the privacy of this home and would stay here again.

“Perfect Oceanfront Rental...views and tranquility”

Reviewed 3 Dec 2013

As a group of 9 (four couples and a 16 month old baby), we were looking for a comfortable, spacious vacation rental and did not want to compromise on views. Coral Estates, where the villa is located, is a private enclave, tucked away just outside of Willibrordus (jokingly referred to as Williwood by the locals...with a sign to go with it). With a 24-hour gated entrance and formidable terrain between the community and the rest of the island, the only sense we got in our 10 day stay was that of peace, quiet and safety. With all four bedrooms air conditioned there was no issue with sleeping in comfort, but the true key to the property is its West-facing position, and the absolutely amazing and huge back porch, and charming lower viewing cabana / patio. The back porch has a huge table, plenty big enough for all the guests and even additional friends---at least 12 comfortably. The lower structure was the only place we ever considered for sundowners, morning coffee and midday reading. From anywhere on the back side of the house you can take in the amazing Caribbean sea, supertankers off in the distance, and the occasional wildlife (the resident lizards of course, as well as flying fish and sea turtles), but the premier spot is the cabana. It had plenty of cushioned seating for all of us, and a separated area with hammocks and an additional table (we played games around it late at night). We also took advantage of the Weber charcoal grill for a perfect oceanfront bbq. The pool was an additional amazing factor in our enjoyment...perfect for a dip when heading to the beach or out for a snorkel didn't match our energy level. A very few suggestions. The tiles around the pool area are slippery when wet...so be especially vigilant with kids, and when it isn't windy the bugs can be a nuisance-bring spray. When walking down to the gazebo, a path of smooth pavers would make it easier, as the back is totally xeroscaped in coral and rock. Overall, can't wait to get back!

Response from the owner Thanks for the review and for staying with us! Welcome back soon.

“Beautiful villa - perfect location!”

Reviewed 30 Nov 2013

Curacao is the perfect island to have a memorable vacation. We stayed at Villa Seashell - Coral Estate. Everything in the villa was neat & clean, we had everything we needed (especially loved the big fridge & freezer, the comfortable and clean beds with nice sheets - unlike at some other places, clean bathrooms and comfortable furniture). We felt really like home. We did not use the television at all. The villa has a good internet connection, we could even Skype home and show our families a little of Curacao. We had bbq several nights, and watched the sun set each day. It was perfect. The manager was kind and helpful. I felt safe at Coral Estate, the night was very quiet, we could rest, and that is important when on vacation. We got up in the morning before the sunrise and went to the beaches very early. Therefore we always arrived 1st or 2nd. This was perfect for us as we would have the beach a few hours to ourselves. We took a look at the underwater world in the morning. That is when the sun illuminates the sea and we could take the most beautiful pictures of the blue blue water. All in all, everything was perfect at Villa Seashell and when (because I am sure we will return some day) we will come back, we would definitely stay here. Also, this side of the island is the most beautiful, with the national park, iguanas, lizards, lovely birds, and of course the most beautiful beaches on the whole island, and not to forget the crabs in the sand. It is not that touristy, but maybe that is why it remained so gorgeous. Thanks Linda Lou!!

“Stunning, want to go back right away”

My Family and I stayed at Villa Seashell in September. The directions to the property were very easy to follow and once we drove up to the house the property manager, Petra, was there to greet us. She took us through the villa, explained the appliances, general rules of the property and a few of the local attractions. The Villa is perfectly located with an amazing view of the ocean. We loved the trade winds coming through the house that gave natural air conditioning. The kitchen is perfectly located facing the ocean and gives great inspiration to prepare a wonderful meal. We did a combination of eating out at Karakter (the onsite restaurant - which was delicious) and cooking ourselves. We had requested that a few groceries be purchased prior to our arrival and topped up a few items from the local grocery store. The kitchen had all the items we needed and we made use of the barbecue as well. The villa is not near the city or tourist destinations. It is super quiet and very relaxing, the only thing you hear is the ocean and the wind. It is maybe a 15 minute drive to the tourist areas; you will need a rental car. My friend, brother and I are avid scuba divers and the reef off the Karakter beach is a thousand times better than near the tourist destinations. The corals are much more vibrant and alive because it's not as popular of a spot. The gentleman who owns the dive shop is awesome too, very relaxed and friendly. The Karakter beach is only a five minutes walk, it is a very nice beach. Other days we drove not long to Porto Marie a spectacular beach, very safe beach for children, with bathrooms and a restaurant. We hope to return in the near future to Curacao and stay again in this wonderful Villa. We recommend this Villa to anyone. Thanks for everything.

Response from the owner Thanks so much. I'm glad you enjoyed the villa. You're welcome back anytime!

“Very nice villa, great snorkeling and diving”

Reviewed 25 Nov 2013

This was our first visit to Curacao and it surpassed our expectations. Villa Seashell is the perfect place to stay on the island. There is peace and beauty abound. The villa offers everything you need to have an enjoyable vacation. The comfortable beds were nice for sleeping and the kitchen is well stocked with everything you would need to make a nice meal. One night we grilled fresh fish on the grill they provide and made margaritas using the blender. We caught the fish ourselves at the deck at the ocean behind the villa. Many nights we watched the beautiful sunset while relaxing at the gazebo. There are many gorgeous beaches to explore minutes away from Villa Seashell. Our two favorites were Porto Mari and Cas abou. The water is crystal clear. Some us went diving and others went snorkeling. It was a fabulous vacation!!

Response from the owner Thanks for the review Liz. We also like to catch our own fish and grill it on the BBQ. The fish tastes fabulous, when it comes fresh from the ocean.

“Luxury Home, amazing views wonderful island”

Reviewed 11 Aug 2013

Villa Sea Shell is every bit as wonderful as it looks. Pure luxury. It is out, and away from the hustle of the city of Wilmastead but you can easily get there in about 20-25 min. There are also upscale restaurants and grocery close by. The house is beautiful, the view is incredible and we wish we had more time to stay. We will definitely visit again. The neighborhood is gated and upscale, very quiet. The main part of the house is extremely spacious but is not air conditioned. It is open to cross breezes blowing off the ocean. All the bedrooms are air conditioned, each room has its own bathroom. There are many beautiful beaches right around the corner Daaibooibaai, is great for watching the sunset, Porto Marie, Casa abou, Grote Knip which was the farthest away and only about 25 min. Everything you need is available right at the house. Linda and her property manager Petra where wonderful, any questions I had were answered right away and every need was attended to. Thank you both so much for making our vacation so enjoyable.

Response from the owner Dear KGClan, Thank you for the nice review! You were our first guests in Villa Seashell. We were very excited and curious to hear how you liked your stay in the villa, and were very happy to hear that you had such a wonderful vacation. The suggestions you sent us by e-mail to further improve Villa Seashell were very helpful. We have taken those into account to make sure future guests will enjoy their vacation even more. Warm regards, Linda Lou
