“We absolutely love Alpine Haven. We are so happy we discovered this place!”

Reviewed 20 Sep 2014

We have visited Alpine Haven several times. It seems each time we make our reservation, we want to stay a little longer. This last visit was for a week. The cabin is located in a beautiful setting. It is close enough to town for convenience, but no so close you don't feel like you are in the mountains. Alpine Haven is so cozy; we make ourselves at home each time. I love having a kitchen with dishes and pots and pans. It's also so convenient to have a washer and dryer. I can't say enough good things about this cabin. I'm sure we will visit again and again. It is my favorite home away from home!

Response from the owner Thanks so much for staying with us and check out our remodel, new furniture, new windows and the upstairs is no longer a loft! Now it has all new knotty pine doors, walls and windows!

“Our stay”

Reviewed 5 Dec 2013

Its hard for me to give a person or a place five stars as I believe to be excellent you have to be out of this world good. Was this place out of this world good, no. Was this place great, Yes. We had a wonderful time at alpine Haven. We loved its rustic charm, the hot tub the decorations the story behind it regarding Liz Taylor. The place was convenient to Pagosa Springs just a short five minute drive where we were able to enjoy good food and the hot springs. We chose to go to the Overlook hot springs where they have hot tubs on the roof and you can overlook the city. Much more affordable than the large hot springs and they took great care of us. Back to the cabin. Upon arrival we were greeted by a phone call on the house line to make sure we arrived safely and give us the lay of the land. I would recommend this place to a couple or a large group of 8 -10 as it can handle that many. Great place, if you go you wont be sorry.

“This was a cozy, homey cabin that was very comfortable to come”

Reviewed 24 Oct 2013

The service for this cabin was excellent. I had a couple questions that I put in an email and was answered very quickly. We like the kitchen blending into the dining room and family room. We could carry on a conversation with anyone without having to go far. The location was perfect for us as we did the zip lining from the train in Durango, did some hiking and the hot springs while there. Having the linens , washer, dryer, crock-pot, and hot tub were great. The DVD player came in handy as we continued to watch Paladin episodes in the evening! We loved the view and the wrap around porch each morning and evening. Spectacular! The couches were ok, but could have been a little more comfortable. The beds were very comfortable. I especially liked the big overstuffed chair! We would definitely recommend you to our friends and stay again if in the area.

“Cozy Little Cabin”

Reviewed 7 Jul 2012

This is a great little place if you are a family. It is nice and rustic and you really get that cabin in the mt. feel. However, it is not a 3bd it is a 1bd with a loft. There are two separate sleeping areas in the loft but it is in no way to be considered bedrooms. We share a house every year with some close friends and their daughter so it was ok but not really ideal. Other than the bedroom situation the house was nice and the people who look after the property were great.

Response from the owner The upstairs at Alpine Haven has an enclosed bathroom, enclosed closet and hallway that separates the sleeping areas...... it is not completely wide open, there are some half walls, full walls, bathroom and closet separating the areas...we show pictures of the upstairs so that guests are aware of the layout upstairs. This is a very common upstairs layout in our area for mountain homes.
