“Best Vacation Ever!”

Reviewed 26 Mar 2014

We traveled with five couples (from Montana & Colorado) to this wonderful home and could not have been happier!. We celebrated a 50th birthday for one of our travelers and would not have wanted to celebrate anywhere else in the world. While we were relaxing in paradise - back home in the states was the worst cold spell and snow storm of the season. Made leaving the beach and pool that much harder. We tried getting Nolvia to come with us but we let it slip that we had over two feet of new snow on the ground. Thank you for allowing us to enjoy your wonderful home and thanks even more to all of the staff that made our stay spectacular.

Response from the owner Mrs. H, Thank you for your wonderful review - and we love the picture! So pleased you enjoyed your stay, and we would love to have you back anytime! Sincerely, Casa Vista Verde Staff

“Great time a Vista Verde! Too much to tell in one review!”

Reviewed 13 Aug 2013

We stayed at Casa Vista Verde this spring with 3 other couples to celebrate my husband's birthday and I've to say this place exceeded our expectations by far. The house's layout is open for a large group to hang out yet allows privacy when some rest was due here and there. The TV room downstairs was cool, well setup with a bar, game table and couch. We had VV prepare our breakfast and lunch daily, and that is totally recommended! Cass and her staff were amazing with whatever we asked for...especially when we needed suggestions on things to do! Cass was very attentive to ensure we were having fun, had tons of great stories and booked most all reservations for us. We had paddle boards sent to the house, chartered a boat to Cayos and fishing, got certified with Tyll's Dive Center...think my friend summed up Roatan well when she said 'I've never done so many firsts in one vacation before'! Crazy to look at all the pictures now and think it was all just from one trip. The property is gorgeous with an infinity pool overlooking the beach, coconuts fresh off the tree they'd prepare for us on the spot...the cute dock house has an outdoor shower that came in handy after kayaking the mangroves, snorkeling, and jumping off the next door neighbors dock. Oh, and sitting by the pool at night to watch the stars...absolutely stunning. I did see the other person mention the electricity and did want to mention, we did use it intermittently (mostly at night to cool the bedrooms - ran around too much to need it in the daytime) and the bill was fine. If you're thinking about privacy, comfort and feeling like you're on your very own compound, it's worth every penny!!! The house is a drive to West End, but we were looking for a unique, quiet and private experience. We did end up hitting West End a bit (who could miss Sundowners' 10 year anniversary?) but were also able to catch most of the unique adventures the other side of the island offers. Highly recommended!

Response from the owner Hi Fe, Thank you for your wonderful review! It was a pleasure hosting your group's stay, and we look forward to many happy returns in the future! Sincerely, Casa Vista Verde Staff

“Awesome vacation”

Reviewed 9 Aug 2013

Casa Vista Verde exceeded our expectations!! House was perfect, Nolvia was even better:) Her meals were excellent and the service of the entire staff was first-class. Ana made the details easy and we thoroughly enjoyed the week in Roatan. Only downside was the sandflies - irritating things but not too bad.

Response from the owner Dear Mr. V, Thank you for your kind words! It was a pleasure hosting your family's stay, and we're so pleased you enjoyed your visit. If you're ever of a mind to return to Roatan, we hope you keep Casa Vista Verde in mind! Sincerely, Casa Vista Verde Staff

“Totally spoiled!”

Reviewed 6 Jun 2013

We spent last week at Casa Vista Verde...and we were totally spoiled. Man...it was a week in Paradise! The house is beautiful, with enough space for a big group. The staff took care of our every need. Cass was there for everything we needed. We loved the food! Nolvia is a wonderful, amazing cook. The grounds are perfect...including the beach, the pool, the yard, etc. The home is extremely clean and very well cared for. We felt safe. We don't have a single complaint. It is just sad that it had to come to an end! Thank you asa and staff! We really were totally spoiled in Roatan! The J. Morgan Family

Response from the owner Mr. Morgan, Thank you for your kind words! It sounds like your experience was exactly what we aim for. It was a pleasure hosting your stay, and we look forward to your return! Sincerely, Casa Vista Verde Staff

“Spectacular vacation, location, hospitality”

Reviewed 14 Feb 2013

We were a group of friends in our 20s and 30s who came to Roatan to scuba dive. Initially, we were excited about the villa because of its proximity to diving and its capacity for large groups, but soon realized a stay here is much more than that. Everything about Casa Vista Verde is designed to maximize your vacation time. From the advance planning, to prepared meals, to the plethora of things to do at the house, you'll spend all your time having fun and no time worrying about how to make that happen. This was, hands down, the easiest, most frictionless vacation I've ever had. A few favorite things from our stay: - Proximity to Dive Shop: The villa is a 2-minute boat ride away from Subway Watersports. Subway often picked us up in the morning, dropped us off for lunch, and then picked us up again for afternoon dives. Easy! - Things to Do: Although we came to dive, we also ended up sea kayaking, jet skiing, wake boarding, and chartering the boat to fish and explore other small islands in the area. At the house itself, we had a lot of fun with board games, the pool and hot tub, the sound system, and the grill. - Private Beach: Between the private beach & dock, beach cabana, and hammocks, you could spend all day here. - House Staff: The staff is capable, gracious, and a lot of fun to be around. We particularly appreciated Nolvia, the cook and housekeeper. She can cook your socks off! Things to keep in mind: - Sand flies: Roatan has a lot of these. Luckily, they are sensitive to big spray, but you so have to be diligent about spraying yourself regularly. The villa has spray for guests. - Planning: Do take the time to do a little planning with the property manager before your stay. She'll use the information to customize your visit. Also, the nearest grocery store is about 15 minutes away, so it's worth it to have groceries provisioned in advance. Overall, Casa Vista Verde is wonderful, and I can't say enough good things about it. Highly recommended.

Response from the owner Erin, thank you for your wonderful review! It was a pleasure hosting your stay, and we would be happy to have you back any time. Since your stay, we have invested in a fogging system with a botanical based bug deterrent. We've been using it for about 5 weeks now, and it seems to be very effective at keeping sand flies from making an appearance on the property. Sincerely, Casa Vista Verde Staff

“Fantastic Vista Verde”

Reviewed 14 Feb 2013

Our group of 7 (3 couples) was very comfortable in this 5 bedroom house and we would have had no problem accomodating the additional couple that had to cancel last minute. Plenty of common living space with covered porches on two levels provide ample seating for everyone to relax inside or under shade. Plenty of lounge chairs around the refreshing pool provide for more opportunities to relax, all while enjoying the view of Turquoise Bay from the hilltop location. Attentive staff are available to prepare meals, do shopping, arrange fishing trips, and coordinate diving with nearby Subway Diving. Don't miss the homemade Baleadas from Nolvia. A car is a good idea for those who like to experience local restaurants, (Cal's on the road to French Harbor, Charlie's in Jonesville, Hole in the Wall in Jonesville Point, Gio's in French Harbor, etc.). A car is also a necessity for touring or arrange tours with the Staff. A staircase to the beach leads to a spacious cabana, with more room to relax. Kayaks are available near the dock on the beach to explore the bay and provide access to the outlying reef for snorkeling. Some of our group was affected by no-seeums which live in a nearby mangrove stand. Asa, the owner, is investing in a fogging system to help alleviate this potential problem.

Response from the owner Dear Mr. P, Thank you for your review! As a quick update, the fogging system was delivered this past week. We plan to use it when wind conditions cause the insects to blow towards our beach, and expect to report positive results shortly. I hope they did not detract seriously from your stay, and I am very interested in further suggestions for improvement if you have them! Sincerely, Asa Davis Owner

“Magic!”

Reviewed 5 Feb 2013

We rent a Caribbean villa every year in this price range to share with 7-9 friends and this is the best of the best. You could ask for nothing more: Safety, security, fully equipped gorgeous house, quality beds, linens and pillows. The staff is incredible: Nolvia, Raul, Nik, Gary, Cass and owner asa, are a dream to work with and take care of your every need. The location and view is beyond beautiful and sooths the soul. You can't ask for better. The home is of the highest quality with perfection of detail. Proximity to deep sea fishing, scuba and snorkling is steps away and no crowds. And, some really good restaurants are a short trip from the house. Try Cal's and Charlies Grill first. Just hangin' around the house was pure magic for me.

Response from the owner Mrs. S, Thank you so much for your review! It was a pleasure hosting your stay, and I hope we can do so again sometime in the future! Sincerely, Casa Vista Verde Staff

“Wonderful, unparalleled, magical, heaven on earth”

Reviewed 31 Aug 2012

We (family of 4, 2 kids age 10 and 13) had a wonderful, unparalleled stay at Vista Verde. Instead of listing all the appliances, amenities, possibilities and opportunities you will find at this place (all is listed in the internet description very accurate), let me explain what made this stay so different. 1) Since we were traveling with kids we were looking for a place combining the convenience of a 5* hotel and the privacy and space of a rental villa. Imagine a luxury, you wake up and the breakfast is on the table, your laundry is done, rooms will be cleaned, someone is shopping groceries for you, kids are on the private beach, you relax at the pool, make plans for the afternoon with another person knowledgeable about everything on the island, and for dinner you can opt to stay home (because you have a perfect chef) or going out using your private chauffeur service. So, how does this sound? Unbelievable? Here you can have it. 2) The staff is dedicated to make your stay comfortable, memorable and convenient. Everyone is working with true passion; there is a vibe of hospitality at this place. 3) For those who care about details: the house is amazing. It is build of concrete and stone, very solid, solid doors and windows, nicely done tile floors, quiet rooms. Roatan is less touristic than other islands and price level is quiet low. For activities outside we highly recommend scuba diving, zip lining, and swimming with the dolphins. Also, we enjoyed a dive tour to pigeon keys and boat rides through the mangroves. There is one problem. The sand flies accompanied our activities. Whereas our 13ys. old did not care, the 10ys. old was suffering from more than 20 itching bites after the first week. This is certainly not the fault of the owner, or the staff; it is simply the environment here. I know the owner and the staff do anything to make it better, and we truly hope they get it improved to fix the one and only problem during this wonderful and magical stay!

Response from the owner Thank you for your very kind review! You've captured what we believe are the high points of a stay with us. I am very sorry about your son's experience with the sand flies. They do come and go around the island, which is why we provide OFF spray and lotion (which guests are free to take with them during their activities). They seem to be very sensitive to OFF, more than mosquitos, and usually one spray in the morning will prevent problems all day. Since your visit, we have begun testing with an organic spray which has been reported to work well elsewhere, with an aim to install a permanent, unobtrusive misting system to insure they don't become a nuisance on the property itself. Sincerely, Casa Vista Verde Staff

We arrived at the Roatan airport. Two of the Vista Verde staff waiting for us. It was a brezze getting out of there. When we arrived at the house Novila and drinks and a wonderful lunch waiting for us. She is worth her weight in gold by the way. She took care of everyone the best.Meghan is wonderful hoast and guide. We had alot of fun with her and Charlie the boat captain. We went fishing caught a few fish. And a great tour of the North side of the island. We droped ancor for lunch at a beautiful key on the east end of the island. There were colors of blue there that I had never seen in the tropics before.Great time swimming and walking around the key. We will be back next year for sure. Thank you again to the Staff Meghan,Novila,Raual. For making it a great trip. Captain Charlie for the boat trip and the Nights on the town. We had a blast. Asa for building such a great place and sharing it with us. And to the people of Roatan who were warm and welcoming. See you next year. Will C. :)

“10 Days in Paradise”

Reviewed 27 Jan 2012

Casa Vista Verde was everything we wanted and more. The service was impeccable. The house manager, Cassondra, made sure we had the provisions we needed, encouraged our input in meal planning, and made great suggestions for activities to try. Nolvia, the cook and housekeeper, kept the house sparkling and prepared delicious meals including some typical Honduran dishes. Casa Vista Verde was designed for complete enjoyment of indoor and outdoor spaces. The interior is airy, spacious, and has great flow. The exterior has everything you could want in a luxury beach home. We enjoyed the views and the breezes from the covered porches at breakfast and lunch and before dinner we enjoyed the hot tub and pool that are set on a large patio overlooking the Caribbean. It is a short walk down to the beach cabana, private beach, and dock. We really enjoyed the location, we kayaked, used paddleboards, and were picked up right at the dock for our dive trips. What we liked best was the staff (always friendly, eager to please), the house (casual luxury, so much to offer), the location (beautiful views, calm warm water), the activities (something for everyone).

Response from the owner Dear Francisca, Thank you for your kind review! We're so pleased you enjoyed your stay-please keep us in mind should you return to Roatan! Sincerely, Casa Vista Verde Staff
