“Gem of the Northwest”

Reviewed 4 Aug 2014

When we decided to vacation in Seattle we looked on many web sites for a place to stay. The one that stood out to us over all the others was Olympic View Bed and Breakfast Cottage. So we booked our reservation with them. As with any place you book without actually seeing it, I became apprehensive the closer we got (we have ended up in some dives due to not so truthful pictures). However, when we arrived at Olympic View all my apprehension melted away. It exceeded our expectations by far. The minute we walked in the door we loved it….all of it. From the way it is set up, the decorations, the colors, where the cottage is situated, the gorgeous view, the deck, everything. They even provide a laundry area to catch up on your washing. The refrigerator and pantry are stocked with everything one could want and more. The supplies were very generous. Each morning we looked forward to see what new pastries would be waiting for us (as kids in a candy shop). The cottage was so comfortable and cozy and modern. We loved how you could swivel the TV and watch it from the living area or in the bedroom. We loved Dave and Eileen and even had them over for dinner one night. We also met Sarah, their daughter who was very welcoming and friendly. This little gem is so peaceful, quiet, and private and has such beautiful views of Puget Sound and sunsets. Watching the sun go down over the water in the Jacuzzi was amazing. It’s just a hop, skip and a jump into Seattle, the beach and local shopping, restaurants, etc. Olympic View is like no other B&B and the best and most enjoyable we have ever experienced. I highly recommend staying here if you are in the Seattle area and want a truly comfortable, peaceful and very enjoyable experience. We will certainly stay here again when we are in the Seattle area.

“Best Place to Stay”

Reviewed 2 Aug 2014

We celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary during the first week of July for our first visit to Seattle and we couldn't have picked a better place to stay. Olympic View B&B definitely exceeded our expectations regarding view, location and comfort. While not your typical communal B&B, Olympic View offers all of the comforts of home. This is a very peaceful location even though it is only fifteen minutes from the airport. The photos do not do justice to the expansive view of the Puget Sound with Olympic mountains in the background. In the evenings after grilling fresh fish from Pike Market Place, we would sit on the deck and watch the sun glisten off the Sound before disappearing behind the mountains. Since we stayed over the July 4th holiday, we were awed by the fireworks shows around the water. This is definitely "the" place to stay in Seattle.

“The Perfect Getaway”

Reviewed 26 May 2014

This B&B is the best I've ever visited. Everything was perfect. The bed was very comfortable, the breakfasts were delicious, the hot tub was relaxing, and the entire experience was very private. My wife and I were visiting Seattle for our 10th anniversary and found this amazing place on the internet. We decided to stay based on the reviews and we're glad we did. Dave and Eileen were great hosts and the overall experience couldn't have been better. For the same price or less than the hotels in the city, you can stay here with more personal service and your own hot tub. Why would you stay anywhere else?

Response from the owner Thank you so much for your kind review. We are so happy you enjoyed your stay and hope you can come back soon for some more rest and relaxation. We are in the summer months now the sunsets are amazing every night, especially from the hot tub. Check out the pictures we post on our site and Instagram and hopefully it will entice you to come back soon. We would love to have you! :) All our best! Eileen and Dave.

“Quite enjoyed our stay!”

Reviewed 29 Apr 2014

My husband and I stayed for two nights during our one year anniversary trip to Seattle and Portland. I only wish we could have stayed longer! My favorite part of the cottage was the hot tub on the deck, which we soaked in both nights. My husband's favorite part was probably the gas grill on the deck, or the fresh breakfast pastries every day. Great location! Easy to find/access, nice quiet neighborhood, minutes from restaurants and grocery stores in Burien, and a short drive to both the airport and downtown Seattle. The price was a little higher than I would have preferred, which limited the number of nights we were able to stay. I was thinking later that I would have liked to give up the complimentary breakfast and housekeeping in order to pay a lower nightly rate (had that been an option). However, I will say that the rates were comparable to any other nice hotel we were looking at in the area. So if it's a toss up between a private, secluded B&B; cottage and a hotel room downtown, the cottage is a no-brainer!

Response from the owner Thank you so much for your kind review. We wish you could have stayed longer too! Unfortunately we only have the one cottage and it does get booked up fast. We feel so blessed to live in this little hidden piece of paradise and are so happy to be able to share it with you and guests from around the world. Happy Anniversary to you both and we hope to see you back at Olympic View Cottage for many more anniversaries! Take care! Dave and Eileen

“Stunning Views & Every amenity”

Reviewed 18 Apr 2014

Let me preface this by saying I generally don't like traveling because I don't like hotels. This lovely cottage was such a find! The views of the sound and Olympic mountains over coffee and French toast were the perfect start to every day. I could feel my blood pressure drop with each sip. Dave and Eileen are so warm and welcoming. They're available and helpful but allow their guests complete privacy, too. The cottage was impeccably clean and comfortable, with every amenity we could have asked for. They provide a well-stocked fridge, lovely pastries, an assortment of books on the area, a great Netflix selection, covered parking, and a private hot tub. I truly can't think of anything they could improve upon. It's like having all the comforts of home with a much better view! And all just minutes from Seatac. This is the only place we will stay when we're in the Seattle area.

Response from the owner Thank you so much for your kind review. We are so happy you enjoyed the cottage and it was a great location for all your travels around Seattle and the Pacific Northwest. We feel so fortunate to live at this little piece of heaven in the Pacific Northwest. We hope to see you and the family back many times in the future. All our best. Dave and Eileen P.S. We just got a new BBQ on the cottage deck – so next time you come back you can enjoy some fresh seafood form Pike Place Market and enjoy the magnificent sunsets over the Olympic Mountain range. Watch for the pictures on Instagram. Simply beautiful!!!

“My new favorite 'Happy Place'”

Reviewed 16 Apr 2014

We're so fortunate we found this hidden gem, what a great experience! The cottage is private, the view from the hot tub on the deck is picture postcard perfect and you feel like you're in a quiet relaxing part of the world, yet only minutes from downtown Seattle. Eileen & Dave were friendly, helpful and loved the fresh fruits and pastries provided daily. Thoroughly enjoyed every detail, and can't wait to return again and again

Response from the owner Thank you so much for you kind review! And we can't wait to have you back again and again. We just purchased a new BBQ for the cottage deck so you can bring back some fresh salmon from Pike Place Market and enjoy a glass of wine and the evening sunset on the deck. A great way to save money on your travels- and still take in a magnificent view! Can't wait to see you again soon! Dave and Eileen

“Great views, Private, Good Location”

Reviewed 18 Sep 2013

We stayed here for 3 nights in Sept 2013. The cottage is beautiful, looks new and the views are spectacular. It was perfect for our first visit to the Pacific Northwest. Easy access to all Seattle has to offer, yet private and secluded. There are about 6-8 steep steps which my older husband who uses a cane found difficult, but once there the hot tub alleviated all his worries. Fresh fruit, eggs, pancake mix, pastries...all were there and replenished daily. Very private and comfortable. Hope to return soon!

Response from the owner Thank you so much for the kind review. We love the hot tub too and are so happy you were able to relax in it after a busy day. You have been wonderful guests and we do hope you can return someday to the Pacific Northwest!

“Wow oh wow”

"wow and wow" 5 of 5 starsReviewed 10 June 2013 I have been here longer than I planned and yet less time than I would like. I cannot begin to describe how glorious this place is. From the tastefully furnished, well laid-out and super clean cottage, to the superb private deck with a massive hot tub, and finally this spectacular view. The bed is so comfortable that I had sweet dreams every night. My hosts, Eileen and Dave were so friendly, could not do enough for me, and yet they allowed me my privacy. Frankly, I wish I could afford to live here forever. I've stayed at many B&B;'s, but never one which supplies, not only breakfast items, but also a cupboard full of oils and seasonings, useful in the full kitchen, together with cheese, mini quiches, a variety of milk's (yet) and so many other things that there is no review space long enough to list everything. Eileen and Dave have done themselves proud. I have re-booked with them for next February and am sooo looking forward to it.

Response from the owner So happy you are coming back to visit us. Thank you so much for the kind review. We look forward to your visit with us in 2014. Enjoy your summer in Australia while we enjoy our winter.

“Mixing business with pleasure”

Reviewed 29 May 2013

We stayed here while my husband attended a conference at the Convention Center in Seattle. It was a great base for both my husband to get into the city and for me to occupy my time while he was at the conference as you are just 10-15 minutes from Downtown. The house itself is lovely and the views from our balcony were amazing. We were able to enjoy the sunsets over the Sound from the hot tub and enjoyed watching bald eagles fly around while we ate breakfast on the deck. Dave was absolutely fantastic and no wish was left unmet. We also loved the fact that the breakfast was self-catering because some mornings were up early and other we slept in, so we could eat when we felt like it and didn't have to worry about keeping to the innkeepers breakfast schedule. The variety on offer was great and to top things off, they did the dishes! We are already looking forward to a return trip!

Response from the owner Thank you so much for the kind review. We welcome you both back to the cottage anytime of the year. The Pacific Northwest has the 4 seasons and our views are ever-changing. From the snow capped Olympic Mountain range, to the kite boarders on the Sound, and the amazing sunsets, there is always something interesting happening right in front of your eyes. We feel very blessed to live in our beautiful paradise and enjoy sharing it with our guests from around the world. Thank you again for sharing your experience. Sincerely, Dave and Eileen.

“Wonderful Weekend Getaway”

My husband and I stayed at the Olympic View B&B; recently and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. We loved the privacy of the little cottage and the amazing view of the Puget Sound from our private deck and hot tub! The B&B; was lovely; clean and the comfortable and always stocked with goodies. Dave and Eileen are the most gracious hosts ;-) We definitely recommend this B&B; to anyone looking for a quiet, unhurried, romantic place to stay--conveniently located close to Seattle and the Wa wine country!

Response from the owner Thank you so much for the kind review. We are so happy you got to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet of the cottage and hot tub under the stars on these cold winter nights. We invite you back anytime of the year because there is so much more to see and do in Seattle. Washington Wine country is specatucalur, but bringing that special bottle of wine home and enjoying it in your own private cottage is what vacation is all about.
