“Absolute perfect vacation week with friends!”

Reviewed 5 Oct 2014

We had the extreme privilege of being able to stay here as a vacation and staff retreat. The house exceeded my expectations and truly was a week that we will never forget. Great communal space; kitchen was huge and we enjoyed the family style layout with kitchen, dining room and lounge area all somewhat connected in the same room. The pool was amazing and we definitely utilized that at any time of night or day! Liz and Ephraim made us feel welcome and secure which really allowed us to just focus on having a great time. The house is a bit removed from any of the larger towns on the island but that was just what we were looking for. It would be an honor to return again in the future!

“Amazing Time at La Diosa”

Reviewed 6 Apr 2014

My wife, sisters and I came to Roatan for a relaxing visit for the second time in two years. This was our 3rd trip (overall) to Roatan and we have stayed in different villas each time. The home is gorgeous and in a very quiet, serene area. The grounds are immense and lovely with so many different beautiful flowers and plants. The views - oh, the views! We loved relaxing in the saltwater infinity pool while gazing at the ocean. The service provided by the staff was superb! Liz was very helpful in answering all of our questions before and during our visit and in getting us squared away throughout the journey. Effraim is excellent at taking care of things on the property and helped us out whenever we had questions or requests. We would definitely recommend having Rosa cook for you during your stay. She is a great cook and has a very sparkling personality. We greatly enjoyed our conversations with her and thank her for telling us the secret to making coconut chicken! The meals we shared out on the terrace cooked by Rosa were one of the many highlights of our trip. We also had an enjoyable and informative personalized tour given by George, Rosa's husband. We would definitely recommend this for others staying at the villa. Lucky and Hope, the Katrina rescue dogs were so fun and sweet. My sisters wanted to "dognap" them both and bring them back to New Orleans with them! We were happy with every aspect of LaDiosa. It was wonderful! When we plan our next trip we are already planning to stay at LaDiosa.

“Swimming, kayaking, snorkeling and sunbathing without the crowds”

Reviewed 23 Mar 2014

We absolutely loved our stay at La Diosa. The Villa has everything, so you never need to leave except to stock up on food and beverages. The fully-equipped kitchen made meal preparation easy, and the decor of the kitchen and living area is beautiful and great for entertaining. We loved the pool, reading in the pool lounge area, and watching the lovely sunsets every day. It was hard to tear ourselves away from the open air to go indoors and sleep at night; even the master shower on the second floor bathes you in air and sky. If you love swimming, kayaking and snorkeling, rent this Villa. You won't need to go anywhere else.

“Wonderful Villa”

Spacious, comfortable with beautiful bathrooms containing outdoor showers. Absolutely beautiful pool amd fully shaded deck with lots of comfy furniture. The kitchen is large and contains all the basics to cook comfortably. I highly recommend la Diosa. It is a beautiful villa with several amenities.

“A Vacation to Remember!!”

Reviewed 5 May 2013

From the initial contact the trip was handled beautifully. Wonderful communication-even sent a packing list-except for that sweatshirt?? Home is located at just the right spot so that you enjoy the ocean from all views. Love the mornings from the balcony! Jami picked us up, handled everything. Effrain, the caretaker, was always keeping things just perfect. Rosa cooked for us several times and it was wonderful. Oh! the outside shower-we came home trying to figure out how we could design one at home. All in all a perfect trip, perfect house, and the best host/hostesses ever. Ps-hope is the best dog ever. She is definitely the welcoming committee.

“Everything you would want in a vacation home!”

Reviewed 2 May 2013

The villa exceeded our expectations! It was beautifully decorated, clean and spacious. The grounds were well maintained and the saltwater infinity pool was wonderful. We used the provided kayaks and paddled out to a barrier reef that was full of fish and large corrals. Definitely would go back and stay in this fantastic place.

“Fantastic villa in a spectacular location with all possible amen”

Reviewed 25 Apr 2013

La Diosa del Sol is so beautiful and we loved the location, near the little town of Politilly Bight on the north side of Roatan, about mid-way along the island. The owners were extremely helpful with answering all our questions before we booked and providing valuable info before our trip. The house had everything we could possibly need and more. There are 2 master bedrooms, each with its own full bathroom and both have a/C (helpful during the hot, humid nights). The upstairs master has a semi-outdoor shower - it was a great experience to watch the hummingbirds on the bushes outside and feel the warm breezes while having a shower. There are two more bedrooms, which we didn't even use. The kitchen/living room area is spacious with ample seating area for a large group. There's a TV with DirecTV hooked up, so we could catch up on shows back home, but we didn't need it. The infinity pool is amazing and we used it a lot. There's a lot of outdoor living space, which was a nice way to enjoy the spectacular views while eating meals or just lounging around. The beach area and dock are convenient. We went out sea-kayaking from the dock and we also had Subway Watersports pick us up at the dock for a boat trip one day. We snorkeled out from the dock to some spectacular waters not too far away. We liked being away from the prime tourist area in the western end of Roatan. We made day trips to different, amazing places every day, so we explored a lot of Roatan. Nearly every morning we went for a walk around a big loop up to the main road on one side and back down through Politilly Bight. The locals seemed quite friendly. The property manager, Jami was very helpful with meeting us at the airport, showing us the house and answering our questions about the house and about Roatan. The on-site caretaker, Ephrain, did a great job of taking care of day-to-day things around the property, keeping the pool spotless and securing the gate every night. We felt completely safe.

“Ahhh paradise”

Reviewed 25 Mar 2013

As an individual who has to write many things as part of his job I am truly at a loss for words. Every aspect of this wonderful vacation property not just lives up to the description but exceeds them. From the serenity to the views, the hospitality, the care, the personal touch it all comes through. Having traveled the world for work and play and stayed at some of the finest resorts, residences and hotels, La Diosa surpasses them all. From the personal touch of the owners ensuring you understand what your renting, to Jami and Ed and Efrain, it was truly paradise. My wife and I, along with another couple celebrate our anniversary annually with a trip, we've been on cruises, to resorts, you name it and have been doing it for 19 years. This has been one of the best ones yet, it will be hard to surpass it for the 20th. If you're looking for tranquility with access to the beach, great food within a reasonable travel time but not being part of the "hustle" of a resort, La Diosa is the way to go. I can't say enough about the sanctuary that it is. Absolutely a must stay!

“Beautiful home with fabulous views and great support staff”

Reviewed 4 Mar 2013

La Diosa del Sol is a superb vacation rental. The house is well-designed and includes every possible amenity needed for a relaxing vacation. Views of the sea and reef are terrific, especially from the infinity pool. Kayaks that come with the rental make the reef easily accessible for snorkeling. A nearby dive shop will pick you up at the property's dock for dive or snorkel trips. The property manager meets guests on arrival at the airport and is a good source of information. The caretaker keeps an eye on things in an unobtrusive way and is there to help whenever needed. Hard to do better than this on Roatan!

“What an amazing place!”

Reviewed 3 Jan 2013

I can't say enough good things about La Diosa del Sol. The house was perfect for our group of 6 adults and 3 children. I loved the layout of the place. The bedrooms are all well separated, which gives everyone privacy. The bottom level patio is huge and has tons of awesome lounge chairs and places to hang out. And the pool is amazing. The kids were in and out of it all day long (not to mention the adults). The big kitchen was fantastic for preparing big meals. And the sunken living room was great for hanging after dinner and watching movies. And the outdoor patio on the second floor was perfect for eating lunch or just hanging out during the day. All in all it just felt like every space was well designed and set up for its own use. Oh, and the views are amazing. We also loved the location. If you are wanting to avoid the crowds, being on the east side of Roatan is a major plus. And it's honestly not that far from grocery shopping or even the West End if you want to go there. The house also has a great, secluded beach that is just a 2 minute walk down the hill, with a nice dock too. Perfect for cocktails as the sun set. Politilly, the town right nearby, isn't much to speak of. But there's a corner store if you need water or something. And you can find local fishermen who will sell you lobster and stuff so that is good. Oh and the reef that is about 1/4 mile offshore from the house (very short kayak ride) is amazing for snorkeling. And a few miles down the road are the East Bay beaches which are totally deserted and quite beautiful. I highly recommend going to Camp Bay and eating at La Sirena (restaurant). There were two staff people connected with the house and both were awesome. Jami, the property manager, met us at the airport and was super helpful throughout. And Efrain, the caretaker, was great too. I have stayed in a lot of vacation rentals and this was possibly my favorite one ever. Of course Roatan has a lot to do with that :) What a great place.
