“Good potential but under construction”

Reviewed 16 Jan 2014

This cabin has lots of potential although it wasn't quite there yet. Unfortunately we had a house under construction the bathroom gutted and loose insulation laying in the back yard. The house was dirty. This was our first time renting and I didn't realize that I should have contacted the cBin company. Fortunately they reimbursed us a portion but I now know better. I would however rent through cool cabins again they were very understanding considering our issues.

Response from the manager Bear Loop Chalet is going through some changes and we appreciate your understanding in this matter. We look forward to welcoming you back to Big Bear and seeing you again at Big Bear Cool Cabins.

Great cabin, great location, I had no idea most cabins in Big Bear have no air conditioning and ants everywhere.. Raid will not help ///

“Excellent !!”

“Excellent but learned a few things.”

Reviewed 21 Mar 2013

The cabin itself was perfect for families. Stayed with another family. Very open. Basically one bod open living area with three really good size bed rooms. We could let the kids play and see them while cooking or hanging out as parents. Everyone had their own space as well with the great bedroom. Each bedroom had it's own bathroom which is great when there is more than one family. The garage was also great as it was snowing when we were there so we could load and unload the cars out of the cold and snow. The things we learned is that the dishes and glasses were somewhat lacking. Think there was two drinking glasses in the house. Not a big deal, just had to go to town to get some disposable ones. The other was if you plan to use the hot tub, check the temp when you first get there. We went to use it and it was to cold to enjoy. It took a full day to heat up.

“Awesome cabin!”

This cabin easily fit our group of 8. The kitchen was nicely appointed and it has a very open feel. The bedrooms are large and give plenty of room to move around the beds.

“Roomy comfort”

Reviewed 9 Aug 2012

The house was very close to the lake and town. Clean and roomy with a great jacuzzi. The staff responded to questions and service requests quickly.

“Spacious, quiet and close to stores and lake”

Reviewed 26 Jul 2012

Bear Loop Chalet was a wonderful place to stay for our family. It was very spacious, quiet and close to stores and the lake. We all enjoyed our own rooms and bathrooms. The beds were comfortable but the comforters & blanket were not changed in a while, the sheets were clean. The master bedroom description mentioned to have cable however there was no TV and the blinds were a little messed up. The bathrooms were clean. If you plan on taking a bath in the master bathroom jacuzzi be prepared it will use up all the hot water. The kitchen was big enough for more than 1 person to cook. It had everything a kitchen needs to cook. If there are more than 2 coffee drinkers be prepared to make a few pots of coffee. The big coffee pot's top was broken. They have a radio/intercom that works throughout the house which was neat as long as you all can agree on music. There were a couple ants in the kitchen and on the floor but that is expected. The floor was really dirty. My son walked from the kitchen to the living room and his feet were grossly dirty. The back yard is spacious. I wish I would have brought my daughter some toys to ride on. The boys enjoyed the horseshoes. The jacuzzi was a little dirty and the light was broken. It seemed to heat up quick. The driveway is very steep be careful driving up and down. I scraped the bottom of our Tundra (truck). All and all it was great besides the little mishaps. We will definitely return.

Response from the manager Hello Shay, Thank you for taking your time to write a review for Bear Loop Chalet. It is very important to our company to review the feedback we receive and use it to improve the condition of our Cool Cabins. We are happy to hear that you and your family enjoyed your stay. On behalf of Big Bear Cool Cabins I just wanted to take some time to update you on a few of the issues you mentioned. I have informed housekeeping to wash the comforters and floors. Maintenance is looking into the broken blinds, getting a new coffee pot, and making sure that the hot tub is very clean. We sure hope you will come back to Big Bear and visit us very soon! Thank you, Velvet

“Great gathering spot”

Reviewed 11 Jul 2012

A large family room and kitchen combined to make a great space for casual get togethers, fun, drinks, dining and entertainment. # bedrooms all with a private bath are nice for multiple families. Hot tub is dated and needs some work, only holds 3-4 comfortably but worked for our needs. Easy access to town and activities.

“Better inside then outside”

Reviewed 28 Jun 2012

Awesome house, we stayed two nights although every wanted to stay longer. Our group had 8 adults and my 17 month son. The rooms and beds were great except for the roll away and couch bed. Master room is huge with jacuzzi in bathroom. Backyard could use some better furniture, but the jacuzzi was good and playing horseshoes was fun. Location is was awesome, north shore away from lots of people and traffic, but close enough to grocery stores and shops. Only complaint was pictures of this cabin made it look like the backyard overlooked the lake which isn't true if you look at the map. Also did everything online didn't have to talk to a single person. And and the price was more better than other cabins I looked at and I looked and looked. Finally hiking trails were close by as well.
