“The condo was clean, comfortable, functional and fairly convenie”
The condo was older but was well kept, nicely decorated and very clean. There was a wine and snacks basket and a nice note to welcome us. It was walk across the street downhill a short distance to access the lifts/ gondola to ski out and you ski right in upon return. It was small but roomy for two people and had a murphy bed for two more. The property manager, Kim Filler was friendly, helpful and readily accessable. It was close to the hot tub and had a nice storage area for skis. It would have been nicer to have more of a view but for the price it was an excellent value. It was accessable to the ski shuttle a short distance away (to go to downtown Steamboat or a grocery store) and all the mountain town's restaurants and shops were within walking distance. We are active retired seniors who live at sea level and the walk back to the condo slightly uphill (in altitude) after dinner from the base or with bags of groceries was a little taxing at times after a day's skiing but good exercise. We've enjoyed skiing Steamboat many times and have stayed at the same condo complex previously. We were planning on skiing Montana last year and the 30% off VIP incentive enticed us to ski Steamboat again. We like the friendliness and ambiance of Steamboat, the mountain layout and ski terrain and other activities (such as sleigh ride dinners and Strawberry Hot Springs) and the ease of getting to Steamboat.
As always, we had a wonderful time in Steamboat. Love the location of the condo we stayed in. Our kids love the fact that they could open the sliding door & play in the snow and have fun before & after a day of skiing/boarding. The condo could use a "cosmetic" clean up. Looking very dated. but had everything we needed. Condos-in-Steamboat & Kim Filler are very thorough and are a delight to deal with. The only disappointment was that our daughter's brand new snowboard was stolen from the base of the the mountain while getting a hot chocolate and was only left for 15 minutes. We searched & searched thinking someone may have mixed theirs up, but no luck. A little security around the equipment would be nice.
The accommodations were very comfortable and the welcome basket, samples and robes were a BIG surprise for a privately owned condo. Kim was friendly, a great source of information, and responsive to any requests. Thanks for the hospitality.
“Had a great time for an affordable price”
This was our first time staying at a condo rental versus a hotel and we would definitely do this again. While this particular condo was not "high end" it fit the needs of our family. We stayed 5 nights and enjoyed every bit of it. While truly not a "ski out" condo, the "ski in" feature at the end of the day was very nice. For the affordability, you could not beat it. It also was in nice proximity of the ski village where we enjoyed ourselves in the stores and restaurants. We did need to stay on top of the laundry in order to keep a fresh supply of towels, however, the detergent and laundry facilities in the condo made that a breeze. Everything was spelled out to us what to expect and was met to a tee. Our tickets were waiting on the kitchen table so we did not have to stand in any lines for ski tickets.
The condo was just right for our family of four -- our five and six year olds slept on the pull-out sofa. The best thing about it though was the care Kim took of us in planning the trip, accommodating us when our flight was delayed by more than a day, helping us with finding a rental car, and putting a Christmas tree up for us so it would be there when we arrived! The skiing was great! We didn't spend a lot of time at home, though, because the conditions were wonderful for the whole trip. It was convenient to and from the slopes and to ski school for the kids. The hike to the trail was a little tough for the kids, but they managed! We also enjoyed the hot tub, the lockers, convenient parking, convenient location relative to the market, restaurants, Sports Authority, etc. Not much of a view, but, then we were too tired to care!
“5 days skiing in 4 feet of snow!!”
Granted, the 40"+ of snow we received during our 5 night stay wasn't under Condos in Steamboat's management control. But what they provided was an excellent, well equiped/stocked & clean condo that was an absolute join to stay in. The ski in - walk out access from Christie Base was wonderful. If/when I return to Steamboat Springs, I will definitely rent from Kim and Condos in Steamboat. My son and I thank you for wonderful accommodations and services. Steve and Mark
