“Loved the snow”
We had a blast loved the unexpected snow Everything was great The only thing was we couldn't get the hot tub to get hot Why would it be called a hot tub if it didn't get hot Every time it tired it just tripped the breaker Then next door what's up with all the video camares we felt like some one was watching are every move not good But everything else was wonderful Looking forward on returning soon Thank you
We recently had the pleasure of staying at this wonderful cabin in Big Bear and can't say enough about how much we enjoyed ourselves at this beautifully decorated, very comfortable cabin. Had everything we needed and best part aside from most comfy beds ever, was the large backyard deck with hammock and bbq. Only issue was that the hot tub wasn't functional and was a major disappointment. Other issue was if we did have an issue, maintenance was unavailable. We were fortunate not to have any major issues. Do need directions for living room tv. We had to change channels manually. No bueno! Other than that, was perfect and a great time was had by all! Thank you so much for having us. Will be from now on staying at this wonderful cabin when we go to Big Bear. :) Made 3 ladies very happy!!! Most great fullyyours, Jill Jeglum, Lisa Saville and Teri
“Had a great time...”
The cabin was clean, and had alot of ammenities that I didn't expect. I will definitely be staying there again. The only down side to the weekend at the cabin is that we wanted to stay longer. I would definitely recommend this to any of my friends.
Location was quaint. Access to the place was a bummer...A large uphill of stairs to enter the home was not easy for loading or unloading! Definitely not handicap friendly, for the elderly, or injured.
Response from the manager Thank you for leaving us your feedback, we apologize if you didn't realize this location had quite so many stairs. In the future, we do have several ADA accessible homes available!
“Great aside from some minor hiccups”
The cabin was itself was great and it was a great experience. If you're looking for a quaint little place to get away, this cabin will do it for you. the full kitchenware made it easy for my girlfriend and I to cook ourselves dinner, and with the fireplace on the cabin felt very homey. Getting into the cabin was a little tricky because we didn't receive any instructions other than, "put the code into the lock and the key will be inside". We got in front and after putting in the code there's a black switch that we kept pulling down, but nothing opened up. Finally we called and they sent someone who showed us how to do it saying that they had hired new people and he wanted to figure out if they were giving proper instructions because he'd been coming out and helping people all day - so make sure you are thorough about asking how to open the lock! The night we stayed there, the shower wouldn't turn on because the knob but weren't bothered too much with that since we would only be staying for one night. We were a little disappointed when the hot tub wouldn't get hot, but again we didn't care too much. The cabin was quiet, cozy, warm, fully-equipped, beautifully decorated, the beds and couches were very comfortable. I would stay here again, but if staying and really looking forward to the hot tub, enquire whether or not it works.
“The fire place and cabin made us feel nice and cozy.”
The cabin was very cute and had a nice deck. The spa had no water in it. Cool cabins was very good and offered us another cabin with a working spa. The other cabin they put us in was very nice and cozy. Cool cabins was very accommodating us. Thank you!
My family and I had the best time. The cabin was super clean and organized, the bathroom was clean and has a beautiful tile shower. The bedrooms clean and in great condition and the deck with spa was wonderful. Great cabin to stay at. The only thing we didn't like was the neighbors had a camera pointed from their window to the cabin front door.we think they just wanted to make sure nobody messed with their big dogs, but it was a little uncomfortable when you leave the cabin. But we didn't let that bother us. Our overall experience in the cabin was great.
“Overall not a bad cabin...”
the water heater wasn't working, once we called them and explained the problem they said they were gonna send someone to check it out but he didn't show up till the next day (imagine not having hot water for couple of days when ? people need to use it and take showers). plus the microwave wasn't working...
“Big Skye Review”
I had a great experience staying at Big Skye. The place is cozy and clean, and the kitchen is very well equipped with all the kitchen ware necessary for cooking a delicious meal. The location is excellent since it's walking distance to one of the hiking trails. It's also very close to one of the best boating marina in Big Bear Lake.
“Very poor prep”
I stayed in Big Skye over the Labor Day weekend, 9/1 - 9/4. The cabin was as described but the services were not. It took three vsits from maintenance and one visit to the office to get things right. That's too much for a two night stay! Here is a list of the problems we had: The heater was not working. The maintence man found that the pilot light was "off". Jacuzzi was not heating. There were no instructions regarding the operation. Maintenance concluded that the jets needed to be on before the heater would operate and this proved to be the case. The Jacuzzi light did not work. The BBQ gas tank was very low. After 5 or more minutes with the gas fully on, maintenance man was still able to lay his hand flat on the grill and hold it there saying "I think it's getting warmer". There were no blankets at all in the cabin, just a thin cover on the beds. The temperature went down to the 50's on Saturday night and we spent an uncomfortable night. The bellows for the fire were broken. Bearing in mind there were no firelighters this was a problem. There were no filters for the coffee machine. Had the cabin been checked properly before being rented to us none of these problems would have existed. When we came in to the office on Sunday morning, we were given 2 blankets and some coffee filters and another man was sent to look at the BBQ. He fixed it, possibly by changing the gas tanks, either way it was not possible to put one's hand near the grill within a couple of minutes. We are very disappointed at the lack of preparation prior to "giving us the keys". It is reasonable to expect a rental to be serviceable and completely prepped ao that we may fully enjoy what we paid for. This was not the case and that is totally unacceptable. I emailed Cool Cabins on Tuesday September 4th but as of the 13th have had no response. Their customer service seems to about as good as their prep of the cabins. Paul
