“Great family house”

Reviewed 11 Aug 2012

Loved the house and all it's amenities. Beach walking at low tide was great fun for the children, and Bon fires in the evening were the best. The kids were able to ride their bikes quite a ways, as the beach road is flat with not much traffic. It was a little disappointing that the pool and playground were not available to renters.

“True Retreat & Memory Maker”

Reviewed 8 Aug 2012

We shared our 40th anniversary with our two grown children and our grandchildren, for a total of 9 folks in this beautiful Whidbey retreat. We came away as a much closer family with wonderful memories to last a lifetime. The layout of this beautiful homes allows at least this many people, with the opportunity for you to be alone when you need those few moments. The fantastic gourmet kitchen, dining area and great room allow all to be together and enjoy the fantastic views of the Puget Sound and the great ships. At night, we spent hours around the built-in firepit overlooking the water roasting marshmallows and sharing adventures. There's plenty to see and do - and if you're lucky enough to be there for the 4th of July - you needn't buy any fireworks! You can spend hours enjoying the beautiful light shows around you. A truly memorable home!

“This beachfront setting for our family gathering exceeded our ex”

Reviewed 21 Jun 2012

We were seeking a place where our family of 12 could gather for a week to celebrate our 50th Wedding anniversary, and we certainly found that in the Whidbey Beach Retreat. We all, including our 2 sons and their wives, plus our grandchildren - ages 20, 17, 16, 15, 9 and 7 - had great sleeping accommodations. The huge dining table made family dinners enjoyable. The media room and the game room were a great surprise. Many breakfasts and lunches were enjoyed at the huge table on the deck. The fire pit (s'more central) and the spa tub were welcome diversions. The quality of the furnishings was exceptional. We were all new visitors to Whidbey Island and each of us came away with great memories. Just watching the tides was a full time "job" and seeing the eagles, seals, hummingbirds etc was fantastic. We were able to procure eveything we needed in the way of groceries, etc at Payless in Freeland and smaller stores in Langley. We're all committed to recycling, and we were amazed how easy it was to take our bags full of soda & juice cans and wine bottles to Island Recycling on Rt. 525.
