“Second time just as good as the first”
We rented this cabin last year and since we had such a positive experience we rented it again. Besides the great price, it is located close to town and very close to the Big Bear Convention Center where we attend their Oktoberfest. Besides the downstairs mattress, the cabin is very comfortable with everything you need.
Response from the manager Hi Tyson! Thank you so much for returning to Cool Cabins and Wishing Bear Lodge! When you return, we're happy to report that we are working towards replacing the mattress! Thank you for taking the time to leave us some feedback and we hope to have you back for many vacations to come!
The cabin had everything we needed. The beds are the only thing we where unsatisfied with, but over all we had an good time in the cabin. This cabin had everything we needed.
“Nice cabin lots of spiders”
The cabin its beautiful, has an amazing view, nice living room, and dining room. The beds are not that bad, but I found lots of big black spiders, the real problem is that my daughter is arachnophobic, so i had to hide some spiders and I was forced to kill some others. So my recommendation is to call pest control and fumigate the cabin asap.
Response from the manager We are sorry to hear about the spider you found in the cabin. Being in a mountain community, those pesky spiders are more prone to show up. We are glad that you enjoyed your trip other than that and hope to see you back in Big Bear soon!
The home was in good condition and easy to find. It was close to the slopes and the village to shop. The home was cozy and comfortable. Things that can be better or improve wi-fi access, there were too many cowebs in the ceiling, condiments were low or none and the bunk beds wre not sturdy. The top bed fell to the botoom bed. We hade move the beds to the floor so we can safely sleep.
Response from the manager Dear Julio, We are so sorry to hear about these issues. They are in the process of being fixed. We hope you found the rest of your stay enjoyable. Sincerely, The Big Bear Cool Cabins Team
“nice cabin but..”
The cabin was beautiful and comfortable but it was not clean , we called for telling that the cabin was very dirty , the microwave was really disgusting , on the roof they were a lot of spider webs , there were no towels and we have to bought some also there was a lot of dust all over the cabin , on the administration they said that someone was going to clean the cabin witj out cost and nobody arrived. We 'll never comming back to cool cabins
Response from the manager Hello Yolanda, We are very sorry to hear that you had this issue with our company and that the cabin was not cleaned. This is not standard Cool Cabins practice and we are very embarrassed. Should you ever change your mind, we wish to extend to you a discount on a future stay. Please refer to this reservation in order to redeem. Thank you, The Big Bear Cool Cabins Team
“Spacious and adorable cabin, close to convention center.”
I rented this cabin with 2 friends and my husband for a weekend in October, with the intention of going to the Big Bear Oktoberfest at the convention center. What a great weekend! The cabin is less than half a mile from the convention center, so we were able to walk there in the day time (though be cautious of the lack of sidewalks in Big Bear...). This cabin was perfect for our stay of 2 nights. It features a spacious great room with couches and a large custom dining table, plus an open kitchen with plenty of counter space for food preparation. There's also a full sized washer and dryer in a separate laundry room/mud room. I stayed downstairs in a bedroom with a king bed. There's also a bathroom with full tub/shower combo downstairs. Upstairs features a central "loft" area with 2 sets of bunk beds, with a bathroom off the loft (shower only) and a large bedroom with king sized bed, baby crib and television. Our friends took over the loft space! We could not get the satellite to work, so we just watched Dvds. I believe the listing says there's a PS3, but I don't know that there was - there was just a DVD player. The only downside is the steep driveway and the wooden stairs leading up to the house - might be treacherous in the winter, especially if you arrive in the dark. The weather was beautiful when we were there, however - upper 60s with a low at night around 35. That made the fireplace a really lovely feature! We would definitely love to stay again during next year's trip!
Nicely furnished place in a quit neighborhood. Good location for a family.
“What a Great Cabin”
We have stayed in many cabins every year returning to Big Bear, this one is one of the best for sure. The kitchen has plenty of plates and silverware. Everything we need. The bathrooms were spotless as well as the rooms. The kids enjoyed the game system. The Tvs worked fine. There was an apple tree on the property the kids had lots of places to run and play in the yard. There was a barking dog near by that barked all night. It didnt bother us much but if someone is a light sleeper it might. Great cabin and this family will be back!
“We had a great stay!”
This is a wonderful cabin with lots of space and was very clean. Just wish we could have stayed longer.
“It was a nice unit, but far form what I expected.”
The unit is aged in that there is no wifi for todays demands on our businesses while we vacation, as there was no cable or tv access which we would prefer when we stay. I also felt there was some appliance upgrades needed with respect to permanent as well as utensil supplies.
Response from the manager Upon receipt of your review we sent maintenance to the property to take a look at the TV and to make sure the kitchen is fully stocked for 8 people. The owners of the property have been informed of the suggestion for wifi. Thank you for your business; we look forward to doing business with you in the future. The Big Bear Cool Cabins Team
