“Absolutely Outstanding”

Reviewed 7 May 2015

My man and I stayed there for three days in April. How we loved this place and truly the best part of our Costa Rica trip! We did not want to leave and hope to return again one day to stay longer. It is the most unique and wonderful place to stay. Every thing you could need: great, large always hot shower; kitchen where we made breakfast and the fish we caught for dinner one night, not to mention the most comfortable bed we experienced during our entire trip. We had breakfast every morning out on the balcony. Beautiful beach only a few minutes away, along with zip lining and fishing very close by. The owners are outstanding and the entire experience was wonderful. Highly recommend!

“Must Stay Here!”

Reviewed 20 Jan 2014

We stayed in the treehouse for 4 nights and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a getaway that is both adventurous and relaxing. The treehouse was equipped with everything we needed which allowed us to enjoy the excitement of staying in a treehouse without the concern of roughing it. The photos shown on this site are accurate and the scenery surrounding is more beautiful than you could imagine. Getting there: We rented a car and took the ferry to puntarenas and had a great time exploring by car. The roads are rough but manageable with an SUV and having it allowed us to see multiple areas while staying at the treehouse. If you are traveling at night, bring a flashlight as the sign for the treehouse isn't incredibly well lit from the street. What to expect: The owner of the property, Kurt, is very friendly and made us feel welcome right away. Kurt lives on the same property, but privacy was never a concern. The treehouse provides a true nature experience, with plenty of birds, lizards and the sights and sounds of monkeys. We were lucky enough to see monkeys one of the days, but you will definitely hear the howler monkeys at times during the night and morning (pretty frightening sound at first, but don't worry they're harmless). Where to go: There is a secret beach just across the street with some beautiful views. For a more popular beach, drive up the street to Santa Theresa. This is by far the best town in the area and has great restaurants, be sure to visit Playa de Carmen, which is on the beach. If you are looking to do some ziplining, go out to Montezuma for the waterfall canopy tour, here you can zipline with views of the ocean and spend time jumping off cliffs into the waterfalls. For meals, be sure to visit Mary's restaurant which is a short walk from the treehouse and go to the Papaya Lounge restaurant just before sunset, the food wasn't quite as good as Mary's but the view was unbelievable.Don't forget to spend time relaxing at the treehouse!

“Incredible”

Tiffany and Kurt are wonderful! And the treehouse is more than you can imagine. Clean, roomy, natural - truly a unique experience. There are wonderful little touches everywhere from incense, coffee, to water all around the treehouse. My husband and I had plenty of room and enjoyed the walk to the beach and town. The monkeys were spectacular, loved having coffee on the deck in the mornings! We would recommend having transportation (bike, four wheeler, car) because this is a nice, quiet distance away from town. We felt very safe the entire stay and sincerely enjoyed our nights here. We'd recommend it, no question!

“Having a cup of tea with a monkey, talk about unique !”

Glad to see this place being added to Flipkey. We stayed there in December of 2009. We had a blast in Mal Pais. The tree house was such a wonderful experience! The listing description was accurate. The photo's accurately reflected the rental's appearance. The property was clean and well maintained. The owner's were super helpful in answering questions or concerns. I would definately recommend this property to a friend or relative. I would recommend the beach for surfing and tide pool exploring. Mary's restaurant down the road for dinner and especially enjoying a nice cup of tea out on the cute sitting area of the tree house in the morning (wildlife viewing included). We recommend this place to anyone looking for a fun time sharing a property with cool people in an amazing tropical environment, staying in a tree house is a kick ! Can't wait to go back. Sincerely, Sam and anoly
