“Beautiful home and wonderful memories”
We stayed for less than a week with two children around Christmas, and it was absolutely a delight!! The villa itself is beautifully decorated, modern and there's always things to do for everyone --the pool is lovely and well maintained, the veranda offers a fantastic view, we also used the massage tables and kids dvd. The villa is conveniently located just a few minutes walk from Jalan Kejang, which leads to ubud center, yet it's hidden from all the noise. The slope is a little steep but we loved it too, even with a baby push chair it was no problem. All staff members we met were friendly and pleasant. We loved the breakfast Wayan made every morning, couldn't find a better way to start a day. Overall a very nice experience, and we would definitely go back again next time we visit ubud!!
Response from the owner We are blushing in response to your wonderful review! It was a great pleasure having you and your family stay at the villa, and your review captured the spirit of the Satori experience. Wayan and Ketut are the very best at making you feel at home and well care for! Thank you again, and we can't wait to have you back again for a family getaway.
“Villa Satori is gorgeous and perfectly met my needs”
I'm very happy with my month at Villa Satori, which is just a few minutes' walk from the lovely Jalan Kajeng, off Ubud's main road. The villa is gorgeous and the staff, Wayan and Ketut, are superb. I felt very well looked after on a daily basis, but they really were a wonderful help when I had friends staying for two weeks. Wayan also prepared a delicious buffet lunch when I had an informal lunch party for ten or so friends and some children one day. Two of my visitors stayed a few nights at Villa Serena, a little further along the path that leads through the rice fields, which is very beautiful. An especial delight in staying in this area is the absence of traffic noise and the sounds of ducks and roosters each morning. Ideally situated for taking walks and enjoying a more peaceful side of Ubud, just ten minutes on foot from the centre of town.
“Missing You, Satori!”
We loved Villa Satori. We stayed there for a month, and wished it was more! The villa was beautiful, clean and well organized. All the amenities we could wish for were there, and more. The kitchen was well stocked with basics, and had everything we needed if we wanted to prepare our own meals. The staff was friendly, attentive and Wayan's cooking is fabulous! She was also great with our children. The pool house offered a great extra space for our guests who came to visit. The views are amazing, the pool was clean, and we really enjoyed meeting the local Balinese on the pathway. Fresh coconuts from Nyoman and world class massage therapy from Soni at Juwuk Manis Relaxing only steps from the front door. We highly recommend Villa Satori if you are looking for a luxurious but authentic Ubud rice field experience.
“Would come back any time !”
Villa Satori is located right next to the rice paddies - and it is such a beautiful location, because it is remote from the busy centre of Ubud, yet in easy walking distance. The garden is lush with many flowers and plants; the house and interior decoration is beautifully designed. You can feel that Kasey put a lot of work into making it her home. The staff was simply wonderful and most attentive. We would all like to thank you for making the 3 days we stayed at Villa Satori most memorable. I am sure we will return. Daniele
Response from the owner You are most welcome, Daniele! Our wonderful location, so close to town yet so private and a world away, is what compelled us to buy the property and build our lovely villa. We look forward to welcoming you again soon, and it was such fun to meet you. Happy Holidays!
First time to Bali and definitely will return! We did aquarobics and delightful night time swims. Captured sunrise and sunsets from the balcony's Jacuzzi & enjoyed powerfully relaxing massages. We purchased a hammock at the market to hang and read, lovely souvenir. The villa is well maintained, the breakfasts delicious. Wayan and Ketut, Ayu, and Kadek taught us a little local lingo and Balinese culture. The Galungun celebration initiated. It was exciting to witness! We took a Payuk Bali cooking class, cooked a vegetarian meal, made an offering & visited the market all taught by a chef! We also rode a bike tour with Bali Hai tours through a bamboo forest, entered Kehen temple, visited a village, Luwak coffee plantation for "cat-poo-chino" & Tegallalang terraces. We made a ring, earrings & pendant at Chez Monique's jewelry class. We experienced Qi Gong and attempted yoga at the Yoga Barn. We walked through the neighborhood rice paddies, chatted with Nyoman over some coconut water, and rode through the city on motorbikes with Ketut, Kadek, and ayu. At Café Lotus we watched a local Balinese dance(passed on the dinner, purchased tickets for the show only and found fantastic seats!) In Seminyak, Biku had he best Masala Chai tea and Mexican chocolate cake. Il Giardino delivered twice a spinach pasta with pine nuts, pumpkin ravioli, green beans almondine, artichoke heart pizza, pear and bleu cheese salad. Yum! We visited Terazo and tried potato leek soup, beet salad, but our favorite was the chocolate dessert platter with the molten cake and a view of the decoration setup at the temple across the street. We swung by Starbucks to pick up some Ethiopian ground espresso for homemade lattes, blended and iced coffee treats. Visited the new villas in progress, should be exciting when they are ready! Kasey's attention to detail, information, and staff contributed to a most memorable experience! The Balinese culture and people made us feel like family. Can't wait to return!
Response from the owner Thank you for such a lovely review, and you truly experienced some of the best of Bali! Wayan just made me a latte with the wonderful Ethiopian espresso that you left--what a treat. All the best until you return--you are lovely guests and we are grateful you chose Villa Satori. The finishing touches are being done right now on the four new villas, and we are welcoming our first guests at the end of December.
“Dreaming of Villa Satori”
Cannot rave enough about this beautiful villa, the sweet staff, convenient location, and the spectacular views! We loved walking everywhere, and enjoyed all the dance performances and shopping in Ubud. Coming back to the villa each night after a busy day was so pleasant..a swim, a cool drink (love Wayan's iced ginger tea with mint), feet up, and sounds of the rice paddies. The villa has everything you could possibly think of for a comfortable, easy stay and I wish I could take the staff home with me. A special mention to Cinta Grill for their Eggs Florentine (taken on Wayan's day off).
Response from the owner It was a pleasure to have you stay with us! Thank you for the great review, and next visit, bring your husband too--he can have a fantastic in-house massage while you are shopping for fabrics. Warm regards, Kasey, Ketut, Wayan, Vera, Kadek and Ayu
“Beautiful villa. Fantastic location.”
Loved every minute of our stay at Villa Satori. I provided such a peaceful oasis after a day of sightseeing/shopping. Wayan and Ketut were fantastic and ensured our needs were met. Gede drove us to many places of interest and helped us to understand customs, etc. The villa is everything others have written, and ultimately the reason we opted to rent it for a week. You will not be disappointed!
“The best villa in Ubud!”
We spent two weeks in the first half of June 2013 at Villa Satori. A pleasant walk up Jalan Kajeng from central Ubud leads to the house. The street turns into a footpath and climbs a small hill before reaching the villa. This adds to the pervasive, wonderful sense of being "far away" when in reality the house is quite convenient to everything Ubud has to offer. The owner has obviously put a tremendous amount of thought into the layout of the property. The living area is indoor/outdoor and features large, moveable glass windows between the interior and the dining patio. From that patio, steps lead down to a pool that is considerably larger than it looks in the photos. At the rear of the property is a beautiful, totally separate guest house with a bedroom, stunning high ceilings, porch and bathroom featuring an outdoor shower. Back in the main house, the two upstairs bedrooms each have their own private bath. The master bedroom has an indoor/outdoor arrangement with large moveable glass doors the lead out to a patio. Views from this patio seem to go on forever. My favorite thing about staying in this room is the view of Gunung agung, Bali's highest mountain, which was the first thing I saw each morning from the bed! This view was accompanied by the sound of ducks quacking in the distance as they moved from rice paddy to rice paddy, cleaning each one after the rice had been harvested. The staff at the villa includes Wayan, who is responsible for breakfast and housekeeping. Ketut takes care of maintenance. Their presence is discreet in spite of the fact that they are working hard to keep the house in immaculate condition. On our last day it was pouring rain but Ketut appeared smiling and ready to help lug our suitcases down the hill where we met our driver. The rental process was easy, the owner is helpful, kind and passionate about Bali! She has perfected the art of meeting guests needs before the need is even known! It was a perfect stay!
Response from the owner Thank you for your kind words! We agree Villa Satori is indeed the best villa in Bali, and our charming staff is the best at what they do. We look forward to welcoming you all back to our home in Bali!
“Villa Satori is the very best place to stay while you are in Ubu”
You will have the epitome of Bali hospitality in this lovely place, just a short 10-minute walk from the enchanting town of Ubud. It is a dream come true for any length of stay-you will adore the service provided, as well as the views, food, art, privacy, and luscious surroundings. Walk around the rice paddies, meet gentle Balinese folks in the neighborhood, and enjoy the luxury at Villa Satori. The owner, Kasey, will tell you everything you want to know about the island and give you fantastic information to inspire your trip. Villa Satori reflects the magic of Bali and offers a rare and scrumptious place to enjoy this amazing island. There are many choices of where to stay when you are in Bali, but this one is a gem, and will not disappoint anyone. Enjoy!
Response from the owner Dear Bonnie Lou, Your joyous enthusiasm is contagious in your beautiful review, and we are so happy to have been able to make your first Bali sojourn such a wonderful experience! I am always delighted to share 25+ years of Bali knowledge with guests, and hope you will return next year with your ladies group. Our four brand new Satori Villas will be complete and ready to welcome guests in December of 2013! All the best, Kasey, Wayan and Ketut Villa Satori
“My dream come true”
This is my second time to vist Villa Satori. To be right near the heart of Ubud and yet so quietly away from it all is to be at Villa Satori. This lovely home is just perfect. Wake up and go off to yoga, then home for a lovely breakfast and a swim. Whether you plan to walk the market and the streets of Ubud, or dream your way along the rice paddies (stopping for a coconut just steps away) you'll always be happy to return to Villa Satori where you can have a masseusse waiting for you. Then dine al fresco before walking down to the evening entertainment just at the end of street where you live! It's the best...can't wait to come back.
Response from the owner Thank you for taking the time to write such a lovely revue. Our new massage table and private, serene deck overlooking the ricefields make the perfect combination for dreamy massages. Please come back and let us pamper you again soon!
