“Beyond Expectations!!!!”

Reviewed 28 Mar 2015

We had a surprise 50th birthday for my wife. Six couples spent the week at this fabulous location! Henry and Larissa were exceptional and took care of all our needs from pre-trip throughout our stay!! Larissa even found us a pirate ship to charter for a day of sailing and snorkeling! Her restaurant recommendations were outstanding! The Island Stones' views are incredible! The rooms are fabulous with individual outside showers! Often the property doesn't live up to the pictures but in this case Island Stones is everything it is shown to be! Although we ate out, the kitchen is a chef's dream and we may bring in some local chef's for our next trip to Island Stones! (Oops, there goes my negotiating power!) I could go on for pages but suffice it to say Island Stones is magnificent! Thank you so much, John and Vicky for sharing your beautiful place. Henry and Larissa, you two are the best and thank you for becoming our new friends and helping make my lovely bride's 50th a forever moment!

“Unbelievable!”

Island stones is the epitome of a luxury Caribbean experience. Stayed at Caneel for years . . . Island stones is the place that you always wished you could stay at. Already booked for next year.

“Breathtaking views, gorgeous villa, time of our lives”

Words can not begin to express the beauty of Island Stones. It will be a part of my heart and memory forever. We spent a week at island Stones with our friends and family and it was the best trip we ever took. The villa was perfect...each room has it's own charm and they bedrooms are spread out so you never feel like you are on top of each other. The pics on the site were accurate in depicting the beauty of the villa and I believe the villa is even more magnificent in real life. The pool and view took my breath away every morning as I had my coffee outside. We got married while there and had the very best time. The Daly's were great and amazing to rent from...so friendly and willing to go the extra mile for us. We hope to return next year and every year after! Thanks John and Vicky for everything! “Away from it all.”

People travel for different reasons and our group of 11 travel to get away from the day to day activities at home. We are used to finer things and want at a minimum what we have at home - our own space, A/C in all rooms, king size beds with our own en-suite. We also want a large pool and the best view available. Island Stones gave us all that and more. The view was incredible and the pool was perfect - day and night. Thanks to the owners, John & Vicky, recommendation we had a chef, Johnny B, cook for us our first night there and it was a perfect introduction. The week was not without a few glitches, but the property managers took good care of us and we were able to enjoy our week. It is a house with many upgrades and toys, maybe too many to maintain on a daily basis, but we did put most of them to good use. The guys were able to watch The Open on any of the many cable TVs, we played pool on the one rainy day, the washer/dryer were often used, the various tables allowed plenty of dining and game space, the outdoor bar/grill was perfect for poolside entertaining. Our only recommendation is it may be time for mattress upgrades and I mention it only because we have no doubt John will take care of this. Great time was had by all.

“Amazing...”

This was the most luxurious and relaxing vacation spot we have ever visited. The pictures online do not do it justice! The Island Stone was beautiful, clean and very comfortable. The views are just incredible. The amenities and location to the center of town and beaches were great. We are looking forward to revisiting again in the future!

“The perfect villa for a perfect family vacation.”

When reviewing the villa website; please believe it and so much more! View from the pool deck is transfixing: several days with full-sky rainbows. Villa is well designed to provide large separate areas for individual privacy and full-family partying. Each bedroom has indoor and outdoor showers and private decks with spectacular Caribbean views. Island Stones is set in beautiful private gardens with flowers indoors and out. This serene setting is completely private: no houses or people seen. Website only hints at the fun and beauty of the infinity pool and spacious deck. The freshwater pool is crystal clear with an unusually attractive design, and very well maintained. You and your kids will love it non-stop. All the amenities are top-drawer. We relished the high-performance outdoor grill strategically at the large outdoor wet-bar. A/C throughout the villa, however we much referred the cool breezes and sounds of outdoor wilderness. Appliances are top-of-the-line, perfect for our large family: clothes washer/dryer, dishwasher, side-by-side freezer/refrigerator. WiFi operated well. Ample supply of excellent snorkeling gear and great canvas beach chairs were available. The property management company is very friendly and attentive to your every need. Cautions: 1. Jeep or SUV required. The villa is off Route 206; many portions are narrow and bumpy. Drive 1 mile north to reach some of the best beaches on the island, but 10 mph. 2. Flow from the showers will be depleted when all of your kids simultaneously use. Schedule. 3. Mosquitos visited around sunrise and sunset; controlled by insecticide spray. 4. Shop in Cruz Bay. Favorite food market: Starfish (free parking). However, during the spring-break, Cruz Bay was too congested for us. Yet were delighted by excellent cuisine offered in small beachside restaurants around Coral Bay (book in advance). 5. Reserve the best multi-bedroom villa well in advance; you will not be disappointed.

“Outstanding is an understatement!”

Once again we have had the chance of staying in St John's best location. My family has stayed at Island Stones 5 times and its getting better every time. John the owner bent over backwards again to make sure we were comfortable and the house was prepared with the utmost attention to details. We brought our parents this year and needless to say the home accommodated everyone's need for space and privacy. We are back in the snowy Northeast and already planning next year as my new screen saver is the fabulous view from the pool/patio area. Thanks again John & Vicky for your warm hospitality and the use of your gorgeous home. Sincerely, Dan

This villa is top notch! The views are breathtaking! The bedrooms are all nicely decorated and comfortable and the outdoor showers are a nice bonus. The kitchen has everything you will need and more! The outdoor bar, pool and entertaining area is wonderful as well. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and will be back for future stays.

“A week in paradise”

Reviewed 7 Feb 2013

My husband & I just spent a wonderful week in st John at Island Stones Villa. Island stones is amazing and I would love to go back. The villa is perfect for families or a group of friends! The decor made you feel like you were in a tropical oasis. I loved that all of the bathrooms also offered an outside shower option. I enjoyed the weight room & actually exercised a few days during our stay. It was so nice to come inside to air conditioning in all of the rooms. The view from the villa is breathtaking!! I spent most of my time lounging at the amazing pool and listening to music from the bar area. We also enjoyed the privacy. That was our 5th visit to St. John and Island Stones has to be one of the nicest villas on the island, we would love to stay there again!!

“Wow - what a view!”

We had 5 couples stay here and everyone was thoroughly impressed! First off the view from the pool deck and top level of the villa are beyond description - what an incredible way to enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning or happy hour drink at the outdoor bar! You can't see any homes from this vantage - just the trees in the National Park and beautiful Caribbean sea! The villa is well (and tastefully) appointed yet comfortable. The layout worked well for gathering as a group or breaking off into separate quarters. We really loved this place and hope to return!
