“Experience the real Fiji!”
Our party of 9 adults and 1 child were in Fiji attending a wedding of our brother at one of the top resorts. We chose Heavensdoor as it would accommodate our entire family and was budget conscience. I'm so glad we did! Not only did the villa accommodate us all very comfortably, but we found that had we stayed at one of the larger resorts we would of had a very different experience, one that really would not of shown us what Fiji is really about. Our first impression of Heavens door was the hill. Although daunting, especially with a rental car packed full of adults and luggage, the views make it all worthwhile. We were recommended 4WD vehicles by the owners and made it comfortably up in 2WD even with challenging weather conditions. The views at the villa are amazing, with 180deg Coral coast views. Each morning we were welcomed by sights of the locals fishing, as well as the gorgeous blue ocean dotted with boats. The gardens were immaculate, and are a credit to Scott and the hard working staff. Our first afternoon at the villa was "weather-challenged" with the first big storm of the season just as we were unloading our luggage. Not only did Scott try to warn us of the impending storm with the cell phone that accompanies the propoerty but he also personally made sure by coming up the hill and letting us know the ins and outs of the property before the weather hit. We found Scotts knowledge of the area of great use, and loved that he was willing to have a chat about all our activities and give us some pointers. Our Fijian feast was beautiful and tasted great. Having some picky eaters in the group, no one left hungry which is testament to the great flavours and fresh produce. The presentation was beautiful and it was nice to come home to a hot meal after a day of exploring. As a whole our experience in Fiji was made so much better staying at Villa Lomagi. We were free to experience the local markets, travel to waterfalls, and see what Fiji is all about.
“Family friendly ... better than the resorts!”
Staying here was great ... in total there were 4 adults and 6 kids. The free run of the large yard gave the kids awesome opportunities to run around and be kids without worrying about where they could end up. We were able to accomodate two families comfortably ... without having to pay for an extra room because you have a 3rd kid. Staying here will give you the privacy to do your own thing, plenty of space for the kids to have fun and with full access to a few different resorts, why stay anywhere else? Thanks Scott and Christina ... we had a great time!
“everything we wanted in a family vacation”
our thanks to Scott for making our Fiji gathering of family and friends from around the globe every thing we wished for .The house accommodating our group of 16 at a stretch but we where all comfortable . The Lovo feast gave us the night off from cooking , on the other nights we ate like kings as well with the local Sigatoka market providing cheap fresh fruit vegetables and fish , the supermarket is not for the faint hearted busy and dirty ,but we catered for the group with ease . Cars are essential, so is seeking out activities . the walk to the waterfall was a highlight and the village shop as good as anywhere else for island trinkets . This side of the island is windy which we liked because the bugs are not so much of an issue and the house is cool . The local resorts provide a poolside escape , icecream and fries when a change is needed
Can't say anything but, praises for Heaven's Door! From the beautiful views to the relaxing bedroooms, we couldn't have asked for anything more! Scott and Cristina are gracious hosts and treated us like family, we really can't thank them enough for their hospitality. Thank you for everything.
“A Step Closer to Heaven”
Wow! That really sums it up. We arrived late at night, it was very dark and the wind was blowing. Sidney greeted us, wagging his tail and Scott, the owner was right along to welcome us and help us with the luggage. The pictures you see in the ad are exactly what you see on arrival. The next morning we woke up to the most incredible views of the Pacific, palm trees, etc. The house is huge and there were only four of us and we didn't even use half the house. Definitely enough room for 10-12, very easily. Just remember, this is a rental home, not a resort, which is what we wanted. You cook your own food or go out to eat. Ask Scott where to go to eat, where to get anything, as he is a great source of info and greets you each morning as he cleans the outside of the property and gives you weather reports, etc. The kitchen has all the utensils, machines (coffee, grinder, etc), refrigerator, freezer, microwave, etc. that you need to cook gourmet meals. Get the owners to make you at least one local cuisine meal and you'll be glad that you did, delicious!! Have tea and coffee on the outside deck, watch the sunrise and sunset and get lost in the beauty. I can still hear the ocean waves. Incredible! The beach, channel are only 200 yards away. Go at low tide with snorkel gear and you'll be swimming in an aquarium setting. We even saw a white tip reef shark swimming below us and a few other beautiful creatures and fish. Sigatoka is only 10-15 minutes away and the daily open market is not to be missed. It is a great place to get fruits and veggies for your stay. Saturday morning has the best selections for fresh fish and seafood. There is tons to do in the area and 5-Star resorts near by that you can go to and use as well, while you just saved tons of money by staying at Heavensdoor. Many pamphlets for local things to do are available.
