Lovely home in a beautiful location, it was a short 4 day stay for us but it was the best. I will definitely will be going back. The home has everything anyone can possibly need.
Response from the owner Thanks for you kind review. There is no better endorsement than a desire to return. I hope you do. Thanks again.
“A safe, relaxed island house in well-located, town in the countr”
The owners were great. Thought of/took care of everything. The house was cozy yet secure. This was a return visit with my family, and everything at the house had just gotten better - especially the gorgeous, totally private pool! We loved this place because you could just jump on Route 30, and pretty much get to anywhere on the island with minimal hassle. It was also fun staying around Las Piedras and exploring the countryside in the southeast.
Response from the owner Thanks for coming to Casa De Loma for the second time. You're right the new swimming pool in the garden courtyard setting makes the house even more special. We enjoy it too! Especially just before dinner time when we take a drink pool side and watch the palm trees blow in the breeze and listen to the many birds sing. Casa De Loma is a wonderful retreat. Cheers!
“Great island-style house, with all amenities, in nice, well-loca”
No worries here, mate! House well-decorated/appointed, & clean. Nice pool, totally private. Loved location: Las Piedras cool little town - has everything, plus beautiful countryside to explore. But really close to Humacao & beaches. Best part: strategically located for day trips all over the island with least traffic problems! Loved roadtripping & checking out small towns - nice vibe, nice people.
“Comfortable. Convenient. Private Pool.”
Casa de Loma is quite comfortable and had everything we needed. We especially enjoyed the private pool. The veranda for breakfast and in the evening with a glass of wine. Even though the temps in 80s when we were there, the cool evening air, the constant breezes and the ceiling fans kept us very comfortable. The area seemed very safe. It is a neighborhood with tasteful and well maintained homes...and you are only a short drive from town. We used the location as a jumping off point to do exploring -since this was our first visit to Puerto Rico outside of a few stays in Old San Juan. Las Piedras is very convenient. We headed north one day for a visit to the Las Cabezas Nature Center which was very interesting - we wished we had planned more time so that we could have done the Bio Bay kayak trip in the evening...that sounded amazing...and we spent one day in Ponce (to the south) visiting their art Museum (which was exceptional), the Museo Castillo Serralles mansion, and spending some time in town visiting the Cathedral, fire house (uniquely restored and now a museum),and the town square...just soaking up the scene and a little of the culture. If you are looking to experience Puerto Rico - not just sit on beach at a resort - do some exploring and have a beautiful, comfortable place to relax in between your adventures, this home is perfect. Plus owners Jim and Marilyn were very gracious and helpful and gave us detailed guides for dozens of possible trips and adventures that proved invaluable. We are planning on heading back in the late spring to experience more of Puerto Rico.
Response from the owner Thanks Cliff! This is the house to rent if you want to see the real Puerto Rico. Resort homes are wonderful in many ways, but you never find out how it would be to live in PR. Anyone thinking about a retirement home in PR, should rent Casa De Loma. It would provide a real insight to the joys of a long stay on the island. At the same time it is near beaches, golf and dozens of other convenenices and intersting venues. We think this home is a jewel!
