“Everything nearby with privacy and true feeling of island living”

Reviewed 4 Jul 2012

Had been through Ocho Rios a couple of times on several visits to Jamaica and wanted to stay there but wanted to avoid all inclusive or condo type arrangements. Found the Cottage at Te Moana and was very pleased with the cottage, it's secluded location on a private road but close enough to stores, dining etc nearby. Cottage has a full kitchen with very interesting features throughout if you really want to see how a living space can compliment island surroundings. Got to kayak, snorkel and swim everyday or just lounge in the backyard facing the sea to wave at passerby's in their boats. I highly recommend the place for someone who wants the feeling of getting away but do not want to be in a completely isolated place. The caretakers were always on the premises for any requests but all was fine. The owner gifted me with an flowered annabella Box artwork created by Jamaican artist Rudi Patterson. I've visited Jamaica 6 times in the past 2 years and stay mostly on the southern coast now. However whenever I return to the northeast coast, I will certainly stay at Te Moana!

“Relaxing & comfortable!”

Views! Comfort! Relaxation! My huband and I just returned from our 17th honeymoon in Jamaica. It was one of the most relaxing trips we've had. At the cottage, we enjoyed all of the comforts of home -- and then some. The hammocks were comfortable, the water was beautiful, and we enjoyed the company of the adorable 3 dogs and cat. It was definitely memorable.

“Priceless views”

Reviewed 27 Jan 2011

In april of 2010, my husband and I stayed at the cottage and it was beyond our expectations. The views were amazing. The owner was great and he took us to the store to purchased groceries. Earlier in the week, we stayed at Breezes Trelawny and although it was all inclusive, it was no match and truly a vacation staying in the cottage. I would recommend the location to anyone and plan on coming back in the near future.

“The Best Place we stayed at in entire Jamaica”

We loved the house and felt homy right away. Peter is just next door and can help you with anything you need. He's friendly and very laid back and always available. Thanks Peter! Here are a few reason why we loved it so much: You have your own snorkeling area which you can access using your own little entrance; the house has some snorkeling equipment in case you don't want to bring your own!!! You wake up hearing the sound of the ocean right from your bed (you can actually see it too), you can have breakfast with an amazing view on your own patio, have coffee in the hammock or cuddle the cat that comes with the house. The house has tons of areas to just chill - inside and outside, it come with some board-games, Cd's and Internet of course. You have 2 showers - inside and outside and you can see the ocean from almost every part of the house... You are close to Ocho to run your errands but you are far enough to not feel like you are in the middle of it. I think everybody will love it here. Be advised that the house has some shutters instead of windows and you do get in touch with some of the outside, but just bring some bugspray and you should be fine. This house is not for luxery travelers.

“The best place to stay on the island - is is totally perfect!”

Reviewed 1 Dec 2010

We stayed in the house on the water and it is absolutely beautiful! It is cozy but spacious and annabella did a marvelous job of decorating. There is a private garden in front of the house from which you walk down some stairs to the ocean where it is, hands down, the best snorkeling on the island. The fish and coral are amazing and it is shallow enough to go out very far without the need of a boat. The upstairs has a magnificent view and in the early morning hours you can see the local fishermen out in the water. The house is located on the edge of Ocho Rios which makes it a perfect location. You are centrally located on the island to go anywhere (if you are daring enough to rent a car as we did), you have restaurants nearby and a market in walking distance. Peter and annabella are delightful and their staff are charming and attentive. We can't wait to go back!

“Characterful cottage with fantastic views”

Really enjoyed our stay. Great location on the outskirts of Ocho Rios, away from the slightly hectic and very hot town centre. Could sit looking at the view for hours. Very atmospheric bedroom on the first floor, nice living room with sitting area/double bed off main lounge.

“It’s Nice to Know A Place Like This Exist”

We had a great time at this eclectic cottage by the sea. It was exactly what we were looking for, a piece of paradise all to ourselves. We can only reinforce what has already been said, and can't wait to go back.

“Perfect peaceful getaway!!”

Reviewed 6 Aug 2010

Stayed at both cottages, the garden and seaside. Loved them both!! First of all, the uniqueness of each cottage, their eclectic flair, art work, comfort, they both had it all. Each cottage had all the amenities of home, kitchens well stocked for whatever cooking you may want to do. Fresh produce on Saturdays right outside your door. The location off the beaten path, and right on the sea, it was wonderful. Peter and annabelle were warm and friendly, very gracious hosts. It felt like our own private oasis with a dock on the sea and kayaks to use. I would highly recommend staying here, why would anyone want an all-inclusive resort stay I cannot imagine. We had great food just a short walking distance away, or cheap taxi to the grocery store, because like us you may not want to leave once you get there!!

“Picture perfect.”

Peter and annabella were welcoming and informative. The cottage is absolutely beautiful and was exactly as it appeared in the photo's we'd seen when booking. Location wise it's close enough to the buzz of Ocho Rios but being tucked away on a quiet side street made us feel far away from it all. Views of the sea right outside your window are lovely. A peaceful, cozy, tastefully decorated quaint cottage with bucket loads of character. A perfect romantic getaway which we can't wait to visit again. Highly recommended!

“Amazing seaside cottage”

Reviewed 5 Aug 2010

This cottage is one of my favorite accomodations ever. I stayed there with my boyfriend for several days and we didn't want to leave. The cottage has more than enough space for two people, with everything you need in the kitchen, plus music, books, television and wireless internet. The best part is the view of Caribbean from the bedroom, the living room and patio. This is the place to stay if you want something unique and affordable, but not if you expect luxury amenities and air conditioning. The owners live next door but gave us privacy and were very generous if we needed anything. They didn't try to nickel and dime us.
