“A wonderful destination to celebrate 20 years of marriage”
Everything was seamless, from booking the villa to checking in and out. Sue and Joe are gracious hosts and do not miss any attention to detail. The villa is nicely appointed and has an awesome music system to listen to music inside, by the pool or in the Crow's Nest. Steven and Jeanette were also very helpful with anything we needed. The view of Saint Maarten from the Crow's Nest was probably one of our favorite features of the villa. While it is located somewhat off the beaten trail, if you don't mind driving to beaches around the island, it is a lovely getaway for a couple.
I worked with Sue for nine years and was always fascinated by the twice yearly island sojourns to this place called "Anguilla." I had never even heard of it! We decided to splurge on an island vacation this year, and fortunately Almond Tree Villa was available in our timeframe. The Villa was everything we expected. I had coffee everyday in the Crow's Nest with its spectacular views. Although we didn't cook any of our meals, the kitchen was certainly well equipped with anything we would have needed. Sue and Joe thought of everything including beach chairs, coolers, and umbrella. It would be hard to choose a favorite beach or restaurant as they seemed to just keep getting better. My first rum punch ever was excellent, and it was our drink of choice at the beach! Gwen's on Sunday is an absolute must - best BBQ ever, and delicious sides, along with reggae entertainment! Grilled lobster at On Da Rocks and coconut shrimp at The Place were awesome, but all of our meals were excellent. We tried Elite, On Da Rocks twice, as well as Smokey's, Blanchard's, and Da Vida. Le Bon Pain is a must try for wonderful pastries. Jeanette did a wonderful job keeping the Villa spotless and Steven was ssooo helpful in tending to our departure details as there were Ferry issues on our last day. This vacation exceeded our expectations; Anguilla is an absolutely beautiful island, and now I "get it." Hope we'll be able to get back someday. I believe the expression is "soon reach"....
“Perfect & Peaceful!”
There are not too many other positive things I can say about Almond Tree Villa that has not already been mentioned by other reviewers. However, with that being said, if you are considering a stay at Joe & Sue's wonderful retreat, book it now! You will not regret it. Our favorite part of our stay was starting each day enjoying our coffee and breakfast in the crows nest soaking in the most beautiful panoramic views and peaceful tranquility! Oh, every once in a while you hear a rooster crowing who lets you know it's morning! Every detail has been thought of from the well supplied kitchen to the coolers and beach towels and equipment, to the clothesline for your wet swimsuits, to the restaurant information including Joe & Sue's personal recommendations and beyond! The Villa was just as it is pictured on the website except for it is even more beautiful in person. Steve, the Villa manager was so personable and accommodating. He will take good care of you during your stay. Jeanette the housekeeper keeps everything immaculate and even does your laundry if you desire. We so much appreciated that added service! The people of the small island of Anguilla are so friendly. The island is a very safe destination where you can venture out and explore without worries, just use common sense as you would if you were at home. The beaches are gorgeous and the water has the most beautiful shades of turquoise you have ever seen. We will be back. Thanks Joe & Sue for an awesome home away from home in Anguilla. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will return!
“Couldn't Ask for More!”
This was our second time to the Almond Tree Villa since our first trip was cut short due to a family emergency. Joe and Sue were so accommodating and hospitable. We were met on-time at the ferry dock by the property manager and he was helpful throughout our trip. We loved every moment of our time in the villa and on the island. We had breakfast each morning in the crow's nest and took advantage of the pool after days on the beach. It is so helpful having a stocked kitchen and beach essentials already in the villa. The island locals are so friendly and the combination of the beautiful island with all of the amenities of the villa made for a perfect vacation. We plan on spending many anniversaries at the Almond Tree Villa in the future and can't wait to go back!
Almond Tree Villa is in a perfect location with abundant, beautiful Caribbean breeze on the east end and away from the more touristy west end of Anguilla. The views are outstanding and the floor plan is ideal. The villa is in flawless condition and it is evident that these owners truly care about making their guests happy. Sue and Joe have tastefully incorporated the colors and feeling of the island into the decor, with Joe's idyllic beach and ocean photos throughout the villa. I knew from my first conversations with Joe and Sue that they have high integrity and that that I was in good hands. All transactions from start to finish went smoothly.
“Amazing view in Aguilla”
We loved our stay at Almond Tree Villa! The view from the rooftop patio was gorgeous! We ate almost every meal up there. The pool was wonderful too! The house was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the outdoor shower, but was surprised house cold it got out there when the wind was blowing! We were taking a break from the internet during our trip but the house does have Wifi. We appreciated the access to the guest cell phone in case we needed to make any local calls. I was glad we stayed a few days at the resort on Meads Bay because the house it a drive to get to a beach. The beach nearest to the house isn't really for swimming, although it is pretty. If we get to Anguilla again, we will stay at Almond Tree Villa!
“Joy, Serenity, and Contentment”
This was our 4th stay at Almond Tree Villa in Anguilla and it just keeps getting better. This is an extremely well-maintained home, with every possible convenience. As you enter, you can feel your worries fall away. Exceptionally well managed and maintained by Steve, along with immaculate home- keeping by Jeanette. The owners, Joe and Sue, are great people and will work with you on having the perfect stay. This home is intimate without being small or confining. Perfect for a couple. Great kitchen, if you are eating in during your stay. We spend most of our time at the beautiful pool and the crow's nest outdoors. A bonus- this is located in a very quiet area, with a "neighborhood" feel. The atmosphere here defines the Anguilla mystique. We will return!
“A Perfect Villa on the Perfect Island”
We are Caribbean veterans, but this was our first trip to Anguilla and we were very unsure of where to stay and what the island would be like. The owners of this villa were VERY easy to deal with and quite prompt and responsive. We were met at the ferry dock as expected, even with flights being changed at the last minute. The villa was spectacular. We had coffee in the crows nest every morning and drinks there every evening (while we weren't in the pool). The area was very beautiful. We rented a car so had the run of the island while there. This villa is towards the eastern end of the island which is less populated, which worked out perfectly for us, but some should note it is a 15 to 20 minute ride to the far western edges of the island. This seclusion was perfect for us, but if you're looking to be right in the thick of things, you should probably look to the west. We had a glorious time exploring the island and all of the beautiful beaches it has to offer. Anguilla is truly a gem, as is this property. It was a joy to stay there. The staff were extremely accommodating (she even did our laundry) and friendly. We're really looking forward to going back to this wonderful villa.
“Perfect place to leave your worries behind”
From the very first contact with Joe and Sue things could not have been handled any better. Every detail was covered. From best way to get there to best places to eat to favorite beaches and even helped organize our "fishing excursion", with Nature Boy. Steven met us at the ferry dock just as planned and we jumped in our prearranged rental car, again thanks Joe and Sue, and Steven took us on a brief tour to the exquisite almond Tree Villa. We were given a thorough tour of the Villa and all the wonderful amenities and Steven left us with multiple contact numbers for us to call him with any questions or concerns. The pool, the crows nest, BBQ pit all were used extensively without flaw. The view is dramatic. The villa had absolutely everything we needed, including WiFi to stay in touch with home, a little, cable TV, full kitchen with all the necessary implements, very comfortable bed and great private outdoor shower. The island itself is warm, people and weather, easy to navigate, and has some of the most beautiful beaches we have ever seen. Great meals and entertainment where ever we traveled. Highly recommend a day trip with Nature Boy Charters, he is a true pleasure to spend the day with .Thank you Joe and Sue to sharing your piece of paradise with us. Phil & Laura Barber
Response from the owner Thank you so much for the flattering comments. We also feel the same way about Nature Boy, he is so very genuine and has a subtle whit which make a day on the water a very special experience. Hope you can both make it back to Anguilla again soon! Thank you for being our guests! Cheers! Joe and Sue
“Privacy and Luxury in One Beautiful Villa”
The service was great. From the manager to the maid, everyone was extremely helpful and friendly making our stay comfortable from the start. The almond Tree Villa is quiet, relaxing and so beautiful. Located on the quieter south east end of the island, the villa was a perfect place to find privacy we wanted on our honeymoon. The villa is spacious, the pool is wonderful, and the crow's nest provides a great place to watch the sunrise or sunset. We loved our stay in anguilla and the almond Tree Villa was a big reason why. Great place to find luxury and privacy all in one relaxing place.
Response from the owner My Wife and i spent our Honeymoon in the Caribbean, both of us experiencing for the first time, why the Caribbean is so often called Paradise. We just celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary. We wish you both a long and happy life together and hope you will share the memories of this special place for many years. So glad you had a great time and we hope to have you back again soon! Cheers to you both!
