Le Gite de Piquetalen is located in the Tarn close to Lavaur in the South of France in a little hamlet called Piquetalen. It was constructed in 2007. The architect-designed gite sleeps four people and has been built and furnished in a classical style to capture the relaxed warmth of the Midi-Pyrenees region. The gite has been independently assessed by Clévacances who have given it 3 'keys' (stars). Clévacances assesses the gîte every 3 years in order to ensure that it continues to provide guests with a high standard of accommodation.

The Le Gite de Piquetalen is 4km from the medieval market town of Lavaur, approximately 45 minutes from Toulouse Blagnac Airport and 90 minutes from Carcassonne Airport. There is a train station in Lavaur and the holiday cottage is also easily accessible by car. The gite is well positioned and there is plenty to see and do in the area. Free WiFi and/or ADSL connection available.

The gite living area (kitchen, dining area and living room) is open-planned. It has a high ceiling with exposed roof beams and a spiral staircase which gives it a very spacious feeling. In the summer the French windows add to the spaciousness with views onto the terrace and garden. In the winter the wood burning stove gives it a warm and cozy feeling.

The gite has two bedrooms, one downstairs with a double bed and one on the mezzanine floor with two single beds. Both bedrooms have large built-in cupboards. An additional bed can be provided by arrangement.

The bathroom equipped with a shower - is downstairs. Although it is not designed for wheelchair access, the bathroom and ground floor of the gite are suitable for people with mobility problems. Please contact us before booking, if you have any mobility requirements.

The kitchen is well equipped with a washing machine, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, ceramic hob and oven. We are happy to provide any additional utensils if needed.

Sun lovers will appreciate the gite's two terraces: the front terrace has views onto the garden while the shaded back terrace has views over farmland, with woodland in the background.

The gite is located in the our garden, at a good distance from our house so as to allow privacy. Next to the gîte is a small orchard and renters are welcome to pick cherries, plums and apricots when these are in season.

If you are renting in the autumn, winter or spring you will find the gîte warm and comfortable. It is equipped with an electric central heating system, which uses oil-filled radiators to provide a gentle and pleasant heat. The wood-burning stove can provide additional heat and the building is well insulated and has double-glazing. All the beds have duvets and extra blankets although you will be unlikely to need them.
