Getting around

There is a bus stop two blocks from the house the Tri-Rail is approximately 3 miles from the house but the best way to get around is with a rent a car.

Interaction with guest

You are renting my personal home, just like your home away from home. My maintenance man is available his name is Jeff, only for emergencies things like they're being a leaky pipe. He's available for other services but there is a charge. Once you enter the house we have a table set up the pamphlets and menus of things to do places to eat. There is something for everyone. There are tons of bars restaurants shopping in the beach right by the house. There is a bus stop two blocks away although it's much easier to get around in your own car

Response from the owner This review is very puzzling the points are mostly subjective. The guest never contacted Jeff the property manager one time. The property managers phone number is right on the refrigerator and on the clipboard yet not one phone call? It is clear from all the subjective points that this guest could not be satasfied, there is always that one. The decor is Roman And the pictures show all the furnishing colors And any other points of interest that you may have when choosing a house listed for all to see on TripAdvisor that match your specific taste. I have to wonder why this person renting the house did not look at the pictures before renting? Every piece of furniture And every color is shown in the 60 plus pictures displayed on the site to see before renting. I really am puzzled Why you would have 60 pictures to look at and not know the decor,  these pictures that shows every detail of the house including the decor every piece of furniture The colors Etc And you would rent it and then get there and not think that it was "In need of updating" When you already should have looked at the pictures of the house inside and out? Everyone's taste is different and there Are as many decors as there are preferences.  So with 60 pictures to review on the site.  Why would you rent a home with a decor you do not like?  The house has been painted Inside A year-and-a-half ago. I would be the first to admit because There are so many people in and out of the house sometime suitcases do mar the walls. But I was just there 2 weeks ago and the paint still looks amazing. Thin sheets? I live in Chattanooga Tennessee And people in certain climates, due to the cold weather, are more likely to have thicker sheets. In South Florida it is a subtropical climate And thin sheets are the norm. All of the sheets and bedding are all within a year old and are all Egyptian cotton With at least a 750 thread count. Again I can't believe someone Would leave such a subjective comment.  If these points were important, I think that I would have asked before renting? Complaining about thin sheets in a sub tropical climate seems not well thought out. Beds "terrible and uncomfortable" is a subjective point of view that I don't really know how to reply to. We have hundreds of guest per year. Because peoples preference are as individual as they are, there is no way we can make the bed perfect for each individual guest. Some people like a bed that's hard some people like a bed that soft and some people like medium and everything in between. This is my personal vacation home for me and my family and we think the beds are very comfortable. We all sleep very well when we were visiting our vacation home.  Bugs in the kitchen. We have a professional exterminator. In a subtropical area compared to where the guest came from in Canada, there are simply more bugs. And most guest leave the doors and windows open to enjoy the warm climate and this invites bugs. The service comes every week and will come more often if needed. If this was a problem, why was the property manager not called.  The service could be sent out for a spot spraying. All pots and pans are checked by the cleaning service and yes it is a professional cleaning service who cleans hundreds of vacation homes in the area with great feedback and reviews. Again if this was an issue why was the property manager Jeff not called, his phone number is right on the refrigerator and the clipboard. The professional cleaning service would come out and spot clean any areas at the guest felt needed extra attention. There may have been a pan that they seen that was questionable, the cleaning service is only humans after all, but I can say with 100% confidence that not all the pans or utensils were or ever have been questionable. Personally I think it's a good idea when you're staying in someone's home to wash everything again before you use it. I would agree with that point. But I know Jeff the property manager double checks this after the cleaning service has finnished. I talked to Jeff, he checked this before this guest stay, he confirmed that they were clean. I have to wonder did this person ever read what the house comes with and what it doesn't? Its CLEARLY listed so guest can know what to expect to be supplied and what is not supplied. They think it should have come with salt and pepper? It is clearly laid out in the ad for all to see before renting. The house comes with laundry detergent and some toilet paper towels had soap dish washing soap trash bags *(the expensive things). How could someone assume it comes with salt or paper from this? Why would a home owner provide salt & pepper? The people that stay in this home or on vacation for a short period of time and they are to supply all of their own food and spices they may want to use. We do not supply any food items expressed or implied. I am very puzzeled how this guest would would even bring something like this up, especially given the fact that what is supplied is laid out in the ad in some detail for all to see on the site before booking. Why didn't they complain we don't provide tooth brushes? Jeff has went and inspected the house they gest left it in filth that required extra charges from my profesional cleaning company . He said "they were some of the nastiest guest we have had in over 5 years of renting the home". He looked in the bathroom for " Toilet in second bathroom not secured to floor." And sees no problem with the toilet being secure. Again why did the guest not use the provided phone number of the property manager who's number is listed on the refrigerator and on the clipboard in the kitchen? The note says if you have any issues with the house please contact the property manager Jeff evenand gives his phone number. Why was it he never received a call? Why would someone leave a review asking for more then is listed in the ad, "salt & pepper", really? Why would somebody complain about cleanliness and then leave the place and a filthy state as this guest did?

“fantastic!!!”

“Decent but not impressive”

First thing first, I chose that place because I wanted to try the intracoastal. I thought I could park a boat and go to the ocean. You need to know that you are in a no wake zone for a couple of miles… More

Response from the owner The Beast distance is written in the description, 2.5 miles two Pompano Beach and 3.5 Mi to Lauderdale-By-The-Sea I don't consider that far if you wanted a place on the sand in south fla, it is definitely possible but expect to pay for two five times more per night. When you rent the house we clean the pool and a professional company cleans it every Thursday. This is not a hotel with a hotel staff that is true you must act as though it's your own house it's close to the ocean and there's always an ocean breeze so you can expect that things get in the pool but guests in the past has never minded just skimming it out between cleanings, this is a common understanding when renting a house versus a hotel. If price is no issue you can definitely get all the things mention in the review, but you're not going to get them for a fraction of what chappy resort rents for. All waterways unless the main intercoastal *( that will cost two or three times more just to get to this level then chappy Resort) Arno wakes most people can know this from a simple Google search. Salt pepper and sugar is not included all the things that are included are listed on the HomeAway page for all to see if it doesn't say it is included, it is not included. I'm sorry that you thought you were on the intercoastal the intercoastal cost so much more than what you're paying for chappy Resort champi resort is on a back finger of the intercoastal not the same thing at all. You may want to educate yourself on the waterways in Florida. It's funny you found it overpriced but yet it is one fourth of the price of what you would like to get from your description, we would all love to have the Hyatt for the Motel 6 price but it just isn't possible. I would recommend researching next time before your stay and look for the specific things that you want for what you want I imagine that you rented this place because it was affordable, like I said if you want to be on the sand or the intercoastal the pricing is going to be substantially more. The guest was nice and kind enough, but I would highly recommend them reading the description of each place that they want to look at and make sure that it has what they're looking for everything the house has is listed in the descriptions on HomeAway for all to see and make sure they get what they need. If this Gast got all that they wanted they would have walked away with sticker shock for sure, this is south FL, not Daytona
