“Dream getaway in Tamarindo”

Reviewed 1 May 2014

Our family loved this getaway and it felt like home away from home. Our kids "lived" in the cozy pool, we bbq'd, tried local restaurants but by far our favorite activity was hanging out on the beach near the inlet and marveling over the amount of water that moves in and out from high to low tide. Hanging out in the warm shallow pools was great for us with 4 toddlers and was a short few minute walk down the beach. The house was very luxurious and was a great place to relax and read---fans and aC units in all the rooms ensured climate control. The beautiful palm lined gated courtyard with 24 hr security was very welcoming. This rental will not disappoint.

“Perfect family March break vacation!”

We have just arrived back in Canada to snow and we are all depressed as we want to be back at this gorgeous villa! The villa is exactly as described and very relaxing. The beach is so close and the waves are excellent as are the sunsets. We did three trips through RPM and all were good especially the zip lining and horse riding on the beach. We ate at some good restaurants but a must is brunch at Sueno del Mar.We would love to come back. Thanks for a great holiday location.

“You won't be disappointed!”

Our stay was wonderful. The home is beautiful and well equipped with all the necessities that a family might need. I can't imagine staying anywhere else. Scott was very easy to work with and we will definitely use this home again in the future. You will not be disappointed.

“Good times in Tamarindo!”

Reviewed 2 Apr 2014

Villa Paloma met every expectation for our family vacation and provided the ultimate home base for our adventures. The villa shared a gated atrium with other homes; the lush entry setting the stage for total relaxation, we entered the villa and said, yes!", the photos on Homeaway captured the very essence of a tastefully appointed, clean and comfortable home. The private dipping pool and awesome kitchen allowed us to enjoy every evening recapping and laughing about the stories of each full day over a luscious dinner and mojitos. Our first day was spent taking in the wild beauty of Tamarindo with a quiet day on the beach. The week gained momentum with a gourmet sunset cruise complete with acoustic guitar and snorkeling, then surfing, and a road trip to Nicaragua for lunch in Granada. The last two days included quading to Playa Conchal, checking out a volcano and scaring the living day lights out of at least one of us on the zip line followed by a well earned late lunch at Lola's on Playa avellanas. With such a full schedule, three floors in the villa allowed for plenty of privacy to recharge from our daily excursions. We highly recommend Villa Paloma and plan to return.

“A Fantastic Place for a Fantastic Vacation! Try It!”

Reviewed 10 Oct 2013

This villa was the perfect thing for a much needed vacation. It was incredibly well furnished, with all the amenities of a first class resort: A complete and stocked kitchen, living area, two personal balconies, a decently sized private pool, and air conditioning units in each room. Each bedroom was lovely and spacious, each with its own bathroom! The place is in pristine condition. The villa is frequented daily by a pool cleaner, and several times a week by a maid, who keep the place in order and very nice shape. The premises are secure, with friendly security guards willing to point you in the right direction (or fetch a taxi should you find yourself in need of one!) The RPM office is located only a block away, and are wonderful at making sure you're having a lovely time in Costa Rica, and can help you find and book any type of amazing excursion you'd like. Despite the beach being a mere minute walk, the private pool is lovely, situated in its own little courtyard. We were frequently visited by howler monkeys, parrots, and hyperactive ground squirrels. Its location in Playa Langosta was ideal. Situated only 50 meters from the beach and a supermarket, the villa is only a mile from Tamarindo where you can find bars, restaurants, surfing, and all the activities an adrenaline junkie could want. Its a perfect spot - close enough to the town, but set outside Tamarindo just enough for privacy and relaxation. The owners are incredibly wonderful people and are easily accessible by email. I'd happily suggest this location for anyone even considering traveling to Costa Rica!

“Unforgettable vacation.”

Reviewed 8 Apr 2012

This is one of the most unforgettable vacations I have ever taken. Not only were the grounds impeccable, the feeling of security and safety were always there. The beach, only steps away, the food was incredible, the people friendly. The villa is filled with just the perfect amount of local decor. The rooms were so comfortable and clean. The pool was absolutely perfect. Just the right temperature to cool you off from the hot sun. I couldn't have chosen a more perfect and beautiful place to ask my girlfriend to marry me. By the beautiful pool, underneath the brightest stars, I proposed to my girlfriend and of course she said yes. There's not one thing that would change about my stay at the Villas in Costa Rica, I would have stayed longer.

“Pura Vida in Playa Langosta”

Reviewed 29 Jan 2012

We had a wonderful 2 week stay at Villa Paloma #3. The villa is luxurious and has all the amenities needed to relax and enjoy Playa Langosta. Loved the kitchen with spacious island great for serving after using the barbecue. Peaceful and quiet but so close to the action in Tamarindo. We enjoyed Le Bistro a short walk away. We also utilized the local mercado for groceries. In Tamarindo we loved the restaurants Le Coconuts and the Langosta Beach Club for French cooking. Be sure and take the day trip to Palos Verde National Park and if the right time of year, visit the turtles laying their eggs at night on the beach. We wanted to stay another week. Next year hopefully we can stay for a month.

“Villa Was Perfect!”

Reviewed 13 Jan 2012

Before our trip to Costa Rica we had never rented a home outside the United States; and, frankly, we were a bit apprehensive about doing so. But the photos of the villa on Playa Longosta were so alluring that we threw caution to the wind as it were. We contacted the owners, the Elbergers, and asked a number of detailed questions about the property and the area. Both before and after we paid the rental fees Scott was an eager wealth of information, and so willing to help us choose the activities that our family would enjoy most (I probably could have saved myself $50 in travel guides . . . ). Anyway, upon arriving in Playa Longosta after a long flight, the folks at the property management company just handed us our keys -- no hassle, no paperwork, no worries. Five minutes later we were relaxing in the villa. The pictures of the villa are accurate but don't quite do it justice. Both the home and the private pool were in great condition, were comfortable and tastefully decorated, and included a number of useful items that some home owners don't think to provide (umbrella, boogie board, hammock swing, giant beach towels, pool toys, everything one would need in a gourmet kitchen, and so on). We breathed a sigh of relief that we had landed a great property. The 24-hour security guards were very friendly, allowed us to practice our limited Spanish on them, and even (unsolicited) rinsed-off our SUV after some muddy four-wheeling on some of Costa Rica's more adventurous dirt roads. The convenience store a two minute walk down the road was also a big help when we ran out of milk or got hungry for a snack. The next time we plan to visit Guanacaste we'll have no need to scour Homeaway and Tripadvisor for rental properties because we've found the perfect house for us in that part of the country. Thanks, Elbergers!

“Tropical Haven”

Reviewed 4 Jan 2012

Our family of three adult couples, two with infants, found Vila Paloma a perfect, tropical meeting place for the Christmas/New Year's week. The house is delightfully placed amidst a well cared for garden walkway. Just steps from the beach and close enough to the town to make the restaurants accessible. Vila's three bedrooms, each with bath, great working kitchen, private swimming pool (with floating toys awaiting), a.c., and services made it a pleasure to eat in and enjoy. We loved the cacophony of fancily plumed tropical birds who greeted us in the mornings; the howler monkeys in and about and the general air of acceptance and pleasure that we received there. Owner is willing to help and guide and we can happily recommend this spot for families or friends.

“The best vacation we've ever taken!”

Reviewed 11 Sep 2011

We spent a glorious week at this vacation rental in april and it was truly one of the best experiences of our lives. The Villa is absolutely gorgeous; the phots we'd seen of it don't do it justice. It is a perfect blend of elegance and comfort, impeccably maintained and built and furnished with attention to every detail. The spacious main floor has a first-rate kitchen, a dining area and a lovely living room. Best of all, it opens onto a private back patio with a pristine pool for cooling off and plenty of comfortable options for lounging in the sun as well as a bbq for dinners at home. The bedrooms, each with their own bath, are all beautiful and unique, have ample room for storage, and allow for plenty of privacy. By the time we'd unpacked our bags we felt at home. The location couldn't be better: a few minute walk to Playa Langosta, a quiet beach with lots of privacy for long walks on the sand or splashing in the surf. We generally began each day with a cup of coffee poolside and a stroll along the beach to the busier Playa Tamarindo, where we had breakfast at one of the many beachfront restaurants where the food was excellent, the service gracious and friendly and the prices very reasonable. We especially liked Nibbana and returned there several times. Then back along the beach to our "home away from home" to cool off in the pool and read and relax. On nights that we did not prepare dinner at home, we enjoyed dining at several of the local restaurants. The Elbergers were quick to answer all our questions and gave us a really good idea of what to expect. The management company was very helpful and informative and helped arrange a zipline tour that was beyond thrilling. The Villa Langosta complex is beautifully maintained and every one associated with it was friendly and accomodating and made us feel welcome and completely safe. The week sped by and we could have happily stayed longer. We will return soon as it was everything we could have asked for and more.
