“Everything you need”

Reviewed 23 Apr 2015

We had a great stay at this Villa. There was enough room for everyone (including 5 kids under 10). The Villa is clean, tidy and has all the facilities you need for a relaxing stay. The pool was great for the kids and adults alike and the pool fence was fabulous to keep the little ones from falling in. It enabled us to relax when they were playing outside instead of worrying they would end up falling in the pool. The staff were amazing, they were able to help us with anything we needed and the meals were delicious! There was no need to go out when we had such amazing food cooked in house.

“The perfect balance”

Reviewed 11 Mar 2015

Villa Munay Ki promises quite an exceptional list of qualities on its homepage. Can it really deliver the perfect balance between the comfort, space and privacy of a privately owned home and the luxurious service and amenities of a 5 star hotel? Read on to find out! There are probably a million nice things I could mention about the villa and the staff, but none would do justice to this place that the owner has created, so I'll just list the few things which I thought stood out the most in my view. Service: The two staff in charge of the villa are villa manager Aoy and the master cook Wa. They both did an exceptionally good job in making us feel at home at the villa. They were always there when needed and became invisible the second we did not need their services, only to materialize out of the blue again as soon as we had any wish or question. They also managed very well to keep the villa in tip-top shape, and never hesitated to call an engineer when it was required, be it for some minor electrical repairs, the pool water-fountains or a kitchen appliance. Transport The arrangement with having your own villa car available was great! Based on the information on the villa web-page, I expected that this was a shared car between all the villas, and that it would be maximum "on call", but it was of course much better like this to have the car always available for shopping at villa market or for transport to one of the Laguna hotels or the canal village. We also highly enjoyed a full day tour of the Island and we were even happier than before to return to the beautiful villa in the evening after seeing many other hotels. I think our routing south along the west coast with lunch at Mom Tri's Kitchen at Villa Royal with a return via lookouts in the south and the big buddha was a nice way to discover Phuket and it was easy to do in a day. Food: Wa's cooking skills are second to none! She managed to make everyone happy at all times, and that is an achievement she can be very proud of. Again, she'd easily win comparisons to many of the better known restaurants we've been before, and I'd say that includes the Grand Lanna at the Dhara Dhevi and I would say our food was on par with our most favorite "brand name" restaurants in Bangkok, such as the Basil in the Sheraton Grande and the Na Aroon at Ariyasomvilla. Food is of course only half of the dinner, especially when you have someone as skilled and happy as Aoy around. Especially our kids had a great time mixing all possible shakes and drinks for themselves as well as for the adults. Our younger son will have his birthday next week and his birthday wish is now a set of mixing cups. :) The villa: It's magnificent! You will already know this when you look at the web page and it's really an achievement to build and maintain a villa to such a standard! I already expected it to be very nice based on the pictures on the webpage, but being there, it felt even much cozier, warmer and super pleasant all around. It offered the ideal mix for us between lots of luxurious comfort, without going over the top. From what I've seen on the various competitors on the internet, the distance to the competition is really remarkable. What would I improve? I really have to be extremely picky to find anything I'd have done differently or where I wished for something more or less. - One little thing that can make life a little hard for older people is the first steep step into the pool. The rest of the villa is very easy to navigate with only shallow steps going in and out, but entering and leaving the pool requires some level of fitness. - iPod dock in the living room (Attached to the large Denon Receiver/Amp): Couldn't get it to work but fortunately there is an Apple TV as well, so it was easy to connect our own devices to the system, and we did enjoy to chance to listen to our own music indoor and out. - Mosquitoes: They were quite numerous on the side of the house (along the water feature next to the living room). Conclusion: I definitely recommend this villa and staff wholeheartedly. Considering all the numerous services tailored to your needs, it offers an excellent value.

“We felt like Premiership footballers and WAGs”

Chang met us as planned at the airport, such a nice, patient man. 25 minutes to the villa (Thursday evening traffic). When we walked through the entrance gate, we were bowled over, the photos are good but do not do the villa justice. The villa is built in a horseshoe shape with the dining and lounge area in the bend with the pool in the middle. The rooms are spacious, airy and light, the fittings expensive and tasteful. Pure luxury. We had planned to visit Phi Phi Island for two days but we cancelled, the villa was too nice. Then, to complete our holiday, the two ladies Wa and Aoi, were fantastic. Aoi , a bit of a nutcase but bold and strong (made brilliant cocktails), and Wa, demure and always smiling, who cooked the most amazing meals for us. They completed the holiday for us, so many things to thank them for.

“Superb Villa & Food!”

Reviewed 4 Nov 2014

Our group consisted of 6 adults, 2 x 3 yr olds and 3 babies under 1. The villa was exceptionally presented with everything you would need. Plenty of toys for the kids, pool floaties and even pool bar for the adults. The pool fence made it very safe for the kids to wander while we battled it out on the table tennis table. Probably the best aspect was the exceptional cooking of Wah and Aoy (our inhouse staff). Nothing was ever a problem and they definitely cooked the best Thai food we had in Phuket! The viilla is located in a safe large villa complex which is a 5 min drive to the closest beach (too far to walk). It's the type of holiday where you would spend the majority of time within the villa!

“One of the best...”

Reviewed 8 Oct 2014

One of the best villas we have stayed in... 5 star accommodation at a very reasonable price when taking up the option of the 5 bedrooms with plenty of space for our group of 5 adults and 3 young kids. Villa Munay-Ki is stunning and has everything you need... car, driver, staff, pool fence, kids toys, huge day bed and a separate little villa for the most relaxing massages. With a short drive to the beach and a great group of shops nearby to pick up supplies the location is fantastic... we will definitely be back. Thanks to the owner for making it so easy to organise!

“Outstanding accommodations”

Great place, close to beaches and shopping with a great pool. There was plenty of space for everybody to spread out with 5 bedrooms. The house keeper, Aoy, was efficient and intuitive and the chef, Wa, made the best meals. We would plan the day with Aoy in the morning figuring out where we would go for the day and what meals we would be having if we ate in. They would go down to the market each morning to pick out the ingredients. One of the best meals was sea bass with lime but every meal was awesome. Aoy took us to the beaches and even helped the girls in the group find the perfect swimsuit. No small feat! We would love to go back. We highly, highly recommend this villa!

“Luxury villa and fantastic holiday”

Reviewed 23 May 2014

My wife and I stayed with party of 5 friends to celebrate our 50th birthdays at Villa Munay-Ki and this was the perfect location! Luxury villa with all the facilities and amenities of 5 star hotel but with personal touch of private holiday. Although the staff are new, Khun Aoy and Khun Jik were fantastic! Always available to help out and nothing was too much trouble. Cooking ... and cocktails ... were also great! The beach, local Thai restaurants and Laguna resort are within walking distance, but there is little reason to leave the villa - so much fun with a lovely pool, spa treatment room, pool-side bar and lots of games! Highly recommended for friends and family. We will certainly be back to stay again.

“Great Villa!!! Absolutely Relaxing”

Reviewed 11 May 2014

My family and our friends (total 6 adults & 5 kids0 stayed there for 7 days during Easter. Our group had an amazing time and our kids enjoyed so much at the villa. Actually, we spend the first three days at the villa just for relaxing and hadn't done much but enjoying the facilitites. The location is located in a villa complex (Sai Tann) near Laguna and very closed (walking distance) to local restaurant, supermarkets, Spa, beach, horse riding, elephane treking etc. Each of the bedrooms in the main villa had its own bathrooms, safe deposit box and TV. We particularly loved the open plan living area, big comfy sofas and a TV next to a proper dining area and kitchen. One of the beautiful things is the fencing around the pool and we don't have to pay too much attendtion on our kids runing around the villa. The kitchen is fully equipped and the owner had already prepared a list of delivery menu from the nearby restaurants. We just needed to quote the customer reference # to the restaurant and they already knew where to deliver. It reduced a lot of time and effort explaining the address. Overall, we enjoyed very much during our stays and the owner/staffs were very helpful. Particularlly the owner is really know what the guests wants and she always responded our queries within one day via email before our arrival. We will definitely come back in the near future.

“Perfect retreat”

A beautiful and very inviting villa. The owner spared no expense or thought for the details of this amazing property. You will not be disappointed when staying here. Close to the beach, quiet area and exceptional staff. Highly recommend staying here over any resort in the area.

“Luxury in Phuket!”

Reviewed 27 Oct 2013

I stayed Villa Munay-Ki in September 2013 and had an amazing time... Giving you luxury that you might not be able to afford at home, the villa is based next to Laguna Phuket - Phuket's up-market resort in the North West of the island. Set around a large pool with a bar, this several bedroom villa has a great space for socialising but loads of room if you want to get some peace and quiet. Each bedroom has its own lovely bathroom, and the master bedroom has a walk in wardrobe. We particularly loved the open plan living area, big comfy sofas and a TV next to a proper dining area and kitchen.. The decor has a lovely Thai contemporary feel to it and the location is great, just a few mins drive / ten minute walk to the beach and bars / restaurants of Cherngtalay and Bangtao. If you can tear your self away from that pool that is! The villa also has lovely English owners, and loads of options for getting food delivered to the house if you are feeling lazy.
