“Paradise in the Emerald Isle”

Reviewed 5 May 2014

Friends and family stayed at Rathellen House (and the adjoining Coopers Cottage) in conjunction with the wedding of our daughter. We can only sing the highest praise of both the accommodation and our charming hosts, Eamonn and Stella. Rathellen house is exactly as stated - a luxurious country house set in verdant grounds. The hosts; charming, understated and ready to oblige any request - which in our case included a gourmet buffet for 30 on Easter Friday and an emergency summons to the local doctor! you don't need an excuse to visit Tipperary - Rathellen House is a destination in its own right.

“Fulfilled my every expectation!”

The Rathellen House and Cooper's Cottage were the perfect home base for our group of 14 this past March. With long days visiting Ireland's beautiful land and sites, the Rathellen House was just as much a destination for us all to start and end our days visiting, sharing meals and celebrating life. Stella and Eammon are wonderful hosts that made us feel at home, ensured that every detail of Rathellen House was not overlooked and were responsive to our large party. We also enjoyed a beautiful welcoming meal prepared Eammon and Stella. The kitchen was well stocked and had everything we needed to prepare meals for our group. The rooms of this beautiful country manor are tastefully furnished and above all comfortable. The grounds were waking from Winter and coming to life with daffodils, crocus and budding trees. We all loved "Murphy" the soulfully sweet Black Lab who also resides and Rathellen House and even took morning walks with.

“Amazing luxury in beautiful surroundings with a real friendly we”

We stayed in Rathellen during Christmas and it was absolutely amazing, Stella and Eamonn had the house decorated with the most incredible tree, Eamonn even set the table for Christmas dinner and the whole experience was unforgettable. The house itself is huge yet amazingly warm and comfortable, offering plenty of space for all the family to enjoy peace and quiet. Each room is decorated with the best furniture from beautiful comfy couches to the best beds we've ever encountered. All the family from those that flew in to those from the area loved the house and have already asked what the plan is for Christmas 2014. We didnt get to sample to food at Rathellen ourselves but having seen what Stella was preparing for the arriving guests as we left we will definitely return to taste the delights at some point in the future. We genuinely couldn't recommend this place enough and hope to return some day

“Most wonderful time!”

Our family of 16 just arrived back from a fantastic week at Rathellen House. Everything was exactly as described in the internet if not better! Stella and Eamonn are absolutely wonderful and you feel at home the minute you arrive. Eamonn prepared some gorgeous food the day of our arrival- let's just say you do not want to miss his cooking skills! Nobody wanted to leave Rathellen House and we all decided to come back some time. This is the place to stay if you are in that area and looking for something special and luxurious.

Great location, incredibly accommodations, convenient to Waterford, Limerick, Cashel (Chez Hans is not to be missed), Blarney. We are already planning our return trip next year!!

“Excellent place for a group”

Reviewed 6 Sep 2012

We chose Rathellen House because of its location - a great spot from which to take day trips to explore the Irish countryside. Our group of 12 enjoyed the beautiful rooms with en-suite baths, the large living and dining rooms in which to gather, and the generous and warm hospitality provided by Stella and Eamonn.
