“So much to do!”

Reviewed 8 Apr 2014

We had a great family experience (kids age 8 and 11) at Casa Ladera and Vieques! Renee was a great host with lots of tips for us which matched our interests and was very responsive. Casa Ladera was very comfortable - we spent time in the pool, patio, grilling and just hanging out. There was great snorkeling (a variety of fish, sea turtles, sting ray, coral and so much more) and swimming at every beach. Our favorites were Blue, Red, Green and Navio. A jeep was very beneficial to get to a few of the more remote beaches. Groceries were reasonable and the farmers market was great! We ate out at several restaurants all with great food and services. Nothing negative to say. Thanks for a great trip!

“50th girl's trip!”

We had a lovely stay for a celebration of all of our college friends turning 50. The accommodations were perfect for us and we would recommend to anyone. The island is amazing and fun. Thanks Jen for hosting us and providing everything we needed to set the scene!

“beautiful vacation facility”

Highly recommended, my family of 10 spent 4 days in upstairs and downstairs bedrooms in Dec 2013. beautiful villa and adjoining large pool, clean with all supplies. great views of atlantic. handy location close to town, groceries, ferry, rental cars, beach on a quiet deadend street. very helpful host.

“Great vacation rental”

This apartment is very large, well decorated and clean. The kitchen has all that you would need to cook and a washer and dryer. The living room and the master bedroom are huge. The lanai is large with a great view of the pool and the ocean and plenty of seating. Renee, the manager was extremely helpful both in planning our trip and while we were there. The location is in walking distance to a good size supermarket although you will need a car to go in to town for restaurants and for sightseeing. We flew in from San Juan although there is ferry service available. We loved Casa Ladera. Our deposit was promptly refunded. Bring shampoo as it is not provided.

“Excellent accommodation!”

This place is really well managed, and the amenities are fantastic. Great pool, comfortable beds and awesome kitchen, even the internet was reliable. Furthermore, it was close to town, but not in a noisy area. My only critique is that it felt almost too civilized, missing a certain element of rusticness, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

“A wonderful island hideaway!”

Reviewed 16 Jan 2014

We loved Casa Ladera although we can't say as much for the weather. We were a week in late November to early December, 2013 that stayed pretty blustery most of the time. But - when it was nice, the island is amazing and the pool and layout of Casa Ladera kept us more than contented. We could take advantage of the lovely pool when the sun shone through and we walked the sea glass beach at the end of the road, watched horses over the fence and had coffee with some truly sweet neighborhood dogs. The space is large and well appointed so we never felt closed in by the weather. Renee was terrific. We couldn't get in on our appointed day because the planes wouldn't fly in the bad weather. She was there to help us first thing next morning and was a big help suggesting beaches and other island "todos." Casa Ladera was also close to our car rental (Avis) and they drove us to the airport on our last day. A nice touch. We found a number of good restaurants, both casual and more upscale. Make sure wherever you eat that you try the Mofongo's. We never had bad ones. We also took advantage of the gas grill at home and bought fresh fruits and vegetables at the open market. If we come back to Vieques we would definitely stay at Casa Ladera again!

“5 stars plus!”

I don't know where to start...we are a typical midwestern family of 5 and we loved everything about the place! First, Renee was awesome - she picked us up at the airport, got us to our rental car, took us to the house and got us checked in, answered all our dumb tourist questions, showed us how to read the map and we were off to explore. The house is in a great location in reference to the grocery store and the breakfast spots (for the coffee). The house is very clean, plenty of room, satellite tv, wifi, great pool and outdoor grilling area, beautiful landscaping, about 100 yards from the beach, crazy huge iguanas in the trees, lizards and frogs for the kids to chase around. They also have the little things you'll need - cooler for the beach, washer and dryer, outside shower to get the sand off...you name it and it seems like they've thought of it. Can't wait to go back!

“A hidden gem!”

The only reason I almost didn't write this review ... is because I don't want anyone else to fine about it! Great spot, beautiful rugged beach, tucked away on the atlantic side. Clean, comfortable and very well managed...what more could you ask for?? ... not a thing! Karen, Matt, Sarah and Summer

“Pleasurable”

Reviewed 28 Aug 2013

It was my first time to Vieques and it was so special. It was very relaxing. The apartment was well located, very neat , clean and spacious. The pool was steps away and refreshing after a day of discovering empty and beautiful beaches...eating healthy salads and not so healthy cocktails. The market was not far and with my morning cup of coffee I would watch the horses chomping on grass across the fence. Not far away was the. W hotel and spa and I took advantage and had a wonderful massage. I plan on making this my favorite stop in the Caribbean

“Wonderful visit - stayed twice!”

The downstairs apartment at Casa Ladera is a gem! Beautiful, comfortable, restful. The owners have thought of everything, and our stay was such a success that we booked again a year later. Pool, beach, and a quiet residence on this lovely island equals bliss!
