“Amazing Vacation”

Reviewed 26 Jun 2014

We just got back from a week at A Place of Grace. 12 of us stayed in the house and had an amazing time. The house had plenty of room - basically 3 master suites plus 2 bedrooms with bunk beds big enough to each hold 3 people. The main living area also had plenty of space for all 12 of us as we never felt crowded at all. The house is kept in immaculate shape and couldn't have been better for a large family gathering like we had. Private access to the beach and close proximity to the pool in the secure community meant that nobody ever got bored or wanted to stay inside during the day. The beach was fantastic, very fine powdery sand with some shells in various areas. The water depth is very shallow out for a long distance directly out from the house, and we found multiple sand dollars and starfish, which was a lot of fun. There were many people fishing off the shore and had good luck, especially in the morning. There were dolphins out swimming that we saw every day. The island is very quiet overall and is very family oriented. We ate at many of the restaurants, and we had good experiences at all of them. We took a day trip fishing and had a blast catching as many king mackerel as we could handle, many small sand sharks, grouper, and snappers. The week was amazing, the house was amazing, and we will definitely be going back to A Place of Grace!

“"Great Vacation, have already booked same unit for next year.”

Great place, only problems we had with no code for check-in and dryer that was slow on drying clothes.

A Place of Grace is a beautiful vacation home. Large well-equipped Kitchen had everything we needed and more. It was perfect. Will definitely rent this one again!

“Wonderful, Relaxing, Gorgeous!”

So far this is my favorite of the Sunset Beach homes we have stayed in. Clean, well appointed and very well designed. We had a wonderful family vacation. Thank you for the memories and for being dog friendly!

“Beautiful Home, Perfect Location”

Reviewed 27 Jan 2009

This home is large, well-appointed and in a perfect location. We had three families here with enough room for everyone. Covered porches were great, kids loved the hot tub and we were just steps to the Gulf. The community pool was just a short walk within the gated community. Proximity to state park is great - lots of wide-open beach for walking; this is a plus because beach area in front of 300 Ocean Mile condos next door can get crowded. Of courese "crowded" in SGI terms still isn't terrible. Be aware that dogs are not allowed in the state park and this includes walking on the park's beaches. The only shortcoming of this house over others we've rented is that is has only one living area. With six adults and six kids, it would have been nice to have two seating/TV/game areas. Bedrooms were lovely, with two having top-floor Gulf views. The master bath is gorgeous! Main floor bedroom is on the back side, but does have a full bath attached. Kids rooms are small but sleep 3 each in full/twin bunk beds. These rooms share one bath, which meant that kids often ended up showering in one of the other bathrooms to get everyone done in a reasonable amount of time. Sunset Beach is a beautiful, gated community with a small number of homes and a nice community pool. Being at the East End of the island, it's quiet but not too far a drive to restaurants, shops and the causeway to Apalachicola. Some must do's on the island: ~ Rent a kayak or two; go for the 5-day or 7-day rental. You can paddle among the dolphins - it's amazing! ~ Fish at the old bridge (you now how to drive over to the mainland side to do this). ~ Eat at Boss Oyster in Apalachicola. ~ Buy shrimp from Dale's or one of the other vendors in the center of the island; it's the freshest you'll ever taste! ~ Relax and enjoy this wonderful island!

“Peace and Quiet”

Reviewed 27 Jan 2009

Our extended family, when you add all of our visits together, has stayed in most of the beachfront homes in Sunset Beach over the years. It is quiet, relaxing and lacks nothing. It is always beautiful- the bad weather never stays for long. The homes are large enough to truly relax, even with lots of people around and the hot tub and pool give you lots of options. The state park is next to the homes and gives you miles of extra beach to walk and explore shells and beach critters. We have seen dolphins close in on every visit. This is a star-gazer's delight- the Milky Way and shooting stars... Appalachicola has some nice shops and historic areas- it is very picturesque. I have never been disappointed and have always come home refreshed. Place of Grace is a real treat if you need some down time.

“Nice beach place - very convenient”

Reviewed 18 Jan 2009

Extremely nice place - walk right out on beach - dog friendly - would love to come again but recent price increases in rental rates make this less competitive with comparable properties in the same area.
