“beautiful and functional”

Reviewed 28 Jul 2014

This house was beautiful! Hardwood on top floor. .everything you can dream up to use in the kitchen. My children loved the bunk beds! My mother, who is physically challenged, was delighted with the elevator! I must say that amenity changed our vacation for the better! The beach is a stone throw from the house. When you sit on the widows walk deck, you do not see anything but beautiful scenery! The beaches are the most beautiful in Florida. We had one minor emergency with our Wii cord....thank goodness Tallahassee was close enough to get new cord! Grocery shopping in February was surprisingly easy...everything right on the island! We will definitely stay in this lovely place in this lovely home again!

“Family Trip”

Reviewed 25 Jul 2014

We spent a wonderful week at Broadwing with our daughter and teenage grandsons. We have stayed at other rental properties, but Broadwing is above the rest. We especially enjoyed the fact that there are so many different areas in this home. The porches and observation area with their beautiful views were perfect places to sit in the evenings with a cool drink and talk or read. Inside everyone can do there own thing or there are areas with plenty of space to sit together and watch movies or have a meal. Speaking of meals the kitchen is very well equipped! My husband does most of our cooking and everything he ever needed was there. With kids we used the pool a lot and this one is very private and it especially nice to have a bath right next to it. The master bedroom is perfect with a very comfortable bed. The others are on the small side, but met our needs. We will be back next summer and booked before we left the island!

“Thanksgiving at broadwing”

Reviewed 5 Dec 2013

I have been coming to St. George Island and have rented over 20 different properties. Broadwing is the only one that I have rented more than once, and I have rented it 3 times in the past year and a half. I love the house because of all the wonderful places it has to rest and relax, and the location and view are fabulous. It isn't right on the beach but because of the close beach access and the views, it doesn't have to be. The other two things I especially like about it are the elevator, which is wonderful when unloading supplies, and the pool. We fixed Thanksgiving dinner there this year and found that the kitchen was more than adequately supplied with all the cooking and dining equipment needed. I love the way it has been painted and refreshed. It looks amazing. The only suggestion I have is to replace the two recliners in the living room. They are worn and not very comfortable. But rest assured, I will rent Broadwing again.

Response from the manager Dear Kathy, Thanks so much for taking the time to review your stay with us at Broadwing! Broadwing is an amazing home and it's easy beach access makes it a popular choice for our guests. We are in the process of evaluating each home so that we can provide our home owners with suggestions for upgrades and needed repairs. Thank you for letting us know of the recliners, we will pass your suggestions along to the owner! Hope to see you on the island again soon! Respectfully, Resort Vacation Properties of SGI, Inc.

“Beautiful beach okay accommodations.”

Reviewed 30 Jun 2013

Overall our stay was good. It was very close to the beach with easy access. The beach was beautiful, but the seaweed is pretty bad in the summer months. We saw dolphins swimming in the ocean everyday. While Broadwing is okay, we would not stay here again. The plus of the house was the very nice private pool. We enjoyed spending time in it everyday. The decor is outdated, which didn't really matter. Our biggest complaint was that the bed in the master bedroom was broken and the bunkie boards on the kids bunk beds were pieces of wood paneling. we wound up sleeping in the recliners. The house was clean with a few overlooked candy wrappers in the window and some mold on the shower curtain. No complaints there. Overall I would not stay here again. I would save more and find an updated house. Also, we did not call the rental company. They seemed very nice, and I think they would have tried to do something. I don't think they would have brought new beds, which is the only thing that would have fixed the issue. The box springs and mattresses needed replacing.

“Broadwing stay”

Reviewed 24 Oct 2012

The house was nice but there were alot of stairs and with 2 kids (4yr and 2yr) I really didn't like that. We went in august and the pool was still too cold to swim, the house blocks the sun from hitting the pool. You will need to pay the extra money and have it heated.

“Loved it, but we were evacuated on day 2”

Reviewed 11 Oct 2012

Loved the pool and the elevator! Elevator is key for groceries to get to the top floor. We wanted to rent this house for years, so we were very excited about staying there. Unfortunately, the island was evacuated 1.5 days after we arrived for Hurricane Debbie, and we never got to come back. We would have loved to stay! And, the owners were so helpful and nice when we needed information about the storm.

“Wonderful!”

We had a great time during our stay at Broadwing. The house fit our family perfectly. We loved the pool and the fact that the beach was just a 3 minute walk away. Our kids are already talking about coming back next year.

“Peaceful, happy, vacation.”

Reviewed 28 Jan 2012

A great place for a family vacation. The pool is wonderful, our grandchildren loved it - walking distance to the Gulf. We've stayed on St. George Island several times in the past 15 years, and I had always wanted to stay at Broadwing, so this was a dream come true for me. It's the prettiest place on the island!!! We will be back!!!

“We love SGI”

Reviewed 26 Jan 2012

Overall, the home was very comfortable. However, while the master bedroom was a good size, the two other bedrooms were very small, with little room to even walk around the beds. The location is excellent, right at the gates to the Plantation, which limited the traffic and the access to the beach is right out the front door. We had a very relaxing time with friends.

“Family Reunion at the Beach”

Reviewed 31 Mar 2011

Broadwing was a terrific house for our purposes with a large number of people, room to park an RV, easy access to the beach, and a quiet location. We enjoyed the house very much. Clean, comfortable for a beach house (you can tell that the owners actually live there part of the year). With a somewhat large group, its difficult to go out for meals so the kitchen is important. The Broadwing kitchen was adequate though it was equipped like a beach rental with stray pots and pans, etc. I guess that's unavoidable though. That aside, we very much enjoyed the house and St. George Island and intend to return.
