Very Good

“This substitute home upon arriving was fair but did not meet med”

Reviewed 23 Jan 2012

A detailed letter was mailed and months later faxed to RVP detailing things. While our time there was shadowed by lack of needs being met, however when finally RVP was made aware they isued an apology and a discount if we returned to SGI at another time,The layout dimished the qualities of a nice home. The master bath had to be shared with another bedroom. Location is great and view is lovely. Maintence problems were addressed promptly. Due to bathroom configuration, I would not rent it or recommend it. I had reseved Heaven sent but the elevator did not work, and my oxygen dependent group required one, We do like Sunset Beach Beachside very much.

“Needs new carpets”

Reviewed 7 Jan 2010

The home is in a great location with a beautiful view and good layout. However, the carpets are filthy. They were filthy several years ago when we stayed there and were even worse on this last stay. The location (next to another house we rented) and the elevator for a disabled family member were the reasons we rented again despite the nasty carpets. Caution though for those with disablilties - the elevator is extremely small and does not fit a full sized wheelchair unless you take off the foot rests. We are returning to St George again this year but will not even consider Cevera Sands again until the carpets sre replaced.

Response from the manager Thank you for taking the time to share your vacation feedback with us. We are delighted that you found the layout & location of Cevera Sands to suit your needs well. With regards to the carpeting, we are pleased to inform you that new carpeting has just recently been installed throughout Cevera Sands. Thank you for your comments about the elevator. That is very useful information for those with unique needs. The elevators installed in the homes managed by Resort Vacation Properties are categorized as use for “Private Residence” as defined by Title XXIX, Chapter 399 of Florida Statutes and are not subject to the same regulations as those licensed for commercial use. Thank you for your continued patronage, we look forward to having you as our guest again this August at Cool Breeze & Sunset Palace. Sincerely, Resort Vacation Properties

“beautiful location / unexpected expense”

Reviewed 29 Jun 2009

We love the location of the house with the beach at our back door and the nearby pool. The kids loved the accessability of it all. When we arrived at 4:10 pm we were surprised to find the maid still there. She had just finished mopping the kitchen floor, but everything seemed clean and ready for occupancy. She apologized for the stained carpet and said they had tried to clean the stains to no avail. We noticed right away that the bunk beds upstairs were pretty rickety, but the kids that were sleeping on top are not too big, so we thought they would be ok so we didn't report it. The air conditioning went out one day and was fixed within an hour of our reporting it. We checked the house before leaving ond thought everything was in order. When we arrived home on Sunday evening there was a message to call the resort office. I returned the call and learned that the maid had reported a "substantial" crack in the stove top and we were expected to pay for a new stove. I said that we were not willing to pay for a new stove when the stove that we used was obviously not new. The woman said she would check with the owners and let us know what they decided. As it stands we are expected to pay for half of the cost or risk being brought into Florida small claims court. Needless to say we will pay since we have no option. Bottom line is : In order for the renter to be protected from such claims in the future there needs to be a procedure in place where there is an inspection (with renter present) upon arrival and before departure. Much as we love the location we will not rent with Resort Properties again until there is some protection for us.
