“Great place for a family”

Reviewed 3 Mar 2012

I came here with my family for six weeks, and it has been the perfect place for us. The house itself is quite roomy and has plenty of space to spread out. We spent a lot of time in the hammock and the pool. The solar hot water for the house and the solar pump for the pool helped keep the electricity costs to a reasonable level. The beds were very comfortable and had a luxurious feel. The kitchen is adequately stocked with utensils, dishes and cookware. We especially liked the layout of the house and the natural light that filled the living area and bedrooms. It was very quiet and secure at night, and my children slept better there than they do in their own beds. We enjoyed getting to know the staff who work on the grounds, they were very friendly and trustworthy. The owner and local property manager were also very helpful from start to finish and made it a painless process. The rate is unbeatable. We found a lot of enjoyable activities in the surrounding area. As other reviewers have noted, the beach is absolutely gorgeous. Sand is fun to play in, and there are plenty of shells to find. We had a great time doing the canopy zipline, and exploring the large rocks and crashing waves in the ocean (you can see them on your drive to Jaco). We also traveled to Volcan arenal (dormant for the last year) and enjoyed the beauty and found a free hot spring there. Jaco (30 km) is definitely a bustling tourist town with great options if you're looking for something to do. Parrita (15 km) is a local farming town with decent shopping options and a little bit better prices. I would definitely recommend this to others.

“Amazing house, relaxing and tranquil setting, stress reliever.”

Upon check-in of our house rental, Shannon greeted us with open arms and was very informative. It was awesome to get up every morning and walk upstairs to our private overlook to have cofee and listen to the birds, ocean and see monkeys in the trees. The private pool in our back yard was awesome and my wife and I couldn't get enough of it. Being in the back yard was like being in our own little retreat. We also had several massages upstairs in the overlook by a local, professional masseuse named Erika. It was the best massage we ever had and very reasonable prices. Can't wait to go back.

“Great place to enjoy peace and quiet”

I stayed at this place a few years ago and haven't been back recently but I sure to miss it. I had a good time and back when I stayed the owner had the place painted brown and there was no pool so he has really made some improvements from what I can see in the new photos. I went alone after my divorce and need peace and quiet and got it. It was the best month I had post divorce. I would love to go back with the new wife and baby I have.

“Excellent Time!”

We love the location of this property! It's perfectly located between Jaco and Manuel antonio. Playa Bejuco is beautiful but the waves and rip tide are very strong so you have to be careful not to swim out too far. There are no life guards on duty on the public beaches in Costa Rica. The property has monkeys right behind it that we saw in the morning. You have to get up early to see them and you could see them in the trees from deck above. There were several sightings of Scarlet Macaws but they never stopped at the property. Looks like they had an agenda! My husband is a surfer and loved the surf. I really enjoyed the place a lot and the only place that tops this project is the Marriot Los Suenos in Playa Herradura. The Marriot is great but super expensive. If you go to this place be sure to visit Marriot for their excursions. Safety is one thing very important to me and my husband. Costa del Sol has a gated community with security guards and is fenced in but not like a secure camp or a prison. We felt very safe knowing there were nightly patrols in the project. All in all I have been to CR about 20 times over the past 10 years and have done the Vrbo and Flip Key thing and I have to say this place was only second to the Marriot which was about 4 times the price as Costa del Sol. Bring bug spray and sun lotion! Man there sure are a lot of bugs on the jungle tours and that sun on Bejuco is a sorcher at times. I know I am rambling but I told the owner I would write him a great review as I had a great time and I am not normally one to bother with reviews. Take care, Diana

“Best Vacation Ever!”

I stayed at this beautiful home last summer with my family. The location was spectacular; close to the ocean and to the main town, yet far enough away to enjoy our privacy. The beds were comfortable, and the interior design was just gorgeous. We loved the in-ground pool as well. I would highly recommend this place for anyone looking to rent a home in Costa Rica!

“Monkeys Galore!”

Reviewed 18 Sep 2011

This place was great. The private pool and upper deck was just perfect. I had a blast watching the monkeys every morning feeeding from the trees behind the river. The beach is very close by; just a 2 minute car ride and the views were amazing. I would recommend staying at this house. It was clean, the staff was friendly and I had a great time.
