Very Good

“A wonderful place to stay”

Reviewed 3 Jan 2015

We had three generations staying in Cayman Sunset including grandparents and two teenagers for 8 days, It was a great location, with wonderful snorkeling just steps from the patio. Duncan next door was most helpful, and we highly recommend arranging a trip out to Stingray City with him - definitely not to be missed. Cayman Sunset has everything you need for a relaxing vacation. The location couldn't be better. Every evening we sat on the patio and watched the sun set, each one better than the night before. There are lots of things to do in West Bay, and it's a quick drive to Seven Mile beach or into Georgetown. The kitchen is well equipped, and the gas grill on the patio is very convenient. The grocery stores were easy to reach. The open plan first floor is very welcoming, and the bedrooms upstairs are very spacious with ample closets. Nothing is better than sitting on the back patio with a cup of coffee or tea in the morning and listening to the surf while planning the day. Darron was very easy to deal with - quickly responding to the initial inquiry and with questions. He also provided very clear instructions and directions. It was an amazing week, and we only wish we could have stayed longer.

“A quiet escape to a beautiful ocean-side home”

Reviewed 2 Jun 2014

A beautiful townhome located in a quiet development by the ocean. The floor plan is open on the main floor with a kitchen that leads to a dining area, followed by a living area, and then a patio that overlooks the ocean. The townhome was clean throughout, bed sheets and towels were fresh, and the kitchen was easy to navigate. We spent much of our time exploring various beaches which were all a few minutes drive or slightly longer walk. The development has a nice pool area with shaded gazebos around for reading and relaxing. There is also a sandy beach area off the back of the property that becomes rocky as it reaches the ocean; divers and snorkelers can reach the ocean from an anchored ladder. We cooked in and dined out equally - there is a nearby grocery store and an endless supply of great restaurants.

“Absolutely wonderful view.”

The home was very spacious with breathtaking view of the ocean. It was perfect for my family (3 kids age 9, 9, and 8 along with me, my husband and in-laws). Duncan and his family were wonderful and helpful! The kitchen had everything we needed to cook a 2 meals a day and the grill was wonderful for grilling fresh caught fish. Enjoyed many mornings eating breakfast on the patio just watching the ocean. Kids enjoyed the pool when we were not on the beach! It was in a quiet area, yet very close to excellent restaurants and a big grocery store. Beautiful property!

“Simply amazing - Stay here for a relaxing vacation - beautiful f”

We spent 10 nights in the condo and it was truly amazing! Everything was very clean and in working order. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Ocean access was ideal for snorkelers and divers. Facility has all appliances, including a grill where we grilled fresh fish on several occasions. This complex was not crowded...plenty of parking. Located just North of seven mile beach makes this an ideal location.

“Great vacation rental -- 3 story condo with great ocean view!!”

Our daughter and son-in-law had been to Grand Cayman, West Bay in the past. We were able to find Cayman Sunset at Coconut Bay condo and made arrangements with their office in the USa. We were really surprised when we arrived -- they had on-site contacts to help answer questions and any assistance we needed. They even took us to a local mini-mart to buy milk for our grandson on our first evening there. The condo was well equipped, clean and neat. There is a nice patio with tables and chairs so you can sit an watch the sea. Or, you can rent scuba tanks and weights on site so you can enjoy shore dives if you have your own scuba gear. There is also a nice swimming pool on the property. There were plenty of dishes, silverware, glasses, cups, etc. and cooking gear (pots / pans and utensils)and cleaning supplies. The 3 bedrooms are on the second and third floors so you have to be able to travel up and down stairs. There is a washer & dryer on the second floor so you can do laundry. The Turtle Farm is just down the road. That was a fun morning activity with our grandson.

“Best Vacation Ever!”

Brought 4 teenagers to Cayman Sunset and they had the time of their lives. The house has plenty of room and everything you need for an extended stay. Walking distance to Turtle Farm and Dolphin adventure. Otherwise, You will need to rent a car to get around. The private beach, private snorkeling area and peace and quiet made it well worth it!!

“Sunset and diving paradise”

Reviewed 5 Jul 2013

We loved the facility: clean, close by the reef and the dive shop (3 min walking distance or onsite bottles), convenient with everything required to enjoy our stay. The onsite manager was available for any needs we may have. A paradise view of the sunset. We enjoyed our stay and we will return!

“Great rental in great location”

Reviewed 11 Mar 2013

We just returned from 5 days at Cayman Sunset and we all left extremely happy. Fairly priced, everything with the house was as described and shown on the website. It was clean, well stocked with towels, sheets, all kitchen items, washer and dryer, great wifi and the absolute best view. Love that one of the best dives on the island is right out the back door. We dove w/ Cayman Diveshuttle (, fantastic . Also, great food next door at Cracked Conch. Great place, great location and great diving. Life is good.

“Does it get any better? What a wonderful week!”

We spent an incredible week in the Cayman Islands and it was surely made more enjoyable by the hospitality demonstrated to us by Duncan upon arrival and Darren during the initial process!   After finding Coconut Bay online, we contacted Darren for more information. From that first e-mail he was nothing but helpful. Every inquiry was replied to with loads of information and helpful links.  When we arrived at the location, we were so excited!  The condo is exactly as it appears online - open, inviting, fresh and clean.  The bedrooms are spacious and stocked with additional sheets. There was more then enough room for a group of 7!  We all had beach and bathroom towels to use. There is a laundry machine so we simply washed anything that we needed to!   We found the closet filled with beach accessories - chairs, a cooler, blow-up air mattresses and beach toys.  We often loaded up the car and travelled to different beaches so having all the "toys" was great.  Another feature that we loved was the BBQ.  We typically cooked up chicken breasts and made sandwiches to take to the beach with us.  We found that the groceries stores were not overly expensive and this made eating in a nice option for us!  As Darren says, the all your can eat buffet on Mondays is awesome, as is TimBucToo's and the weekend specials at the beach bar in front of the Cracker Conch.   Overall, we cannot say enough good things about the Caymans and Coconut Bay .   This is the place to stay when you go there!  Thanks for an incredible experience.

“Absolutely perfect set up, and wonderful host.”

We just returned from our first trip to Grand Cayman and like many others on a first-time trip did a ton of research. In the end the reviews of Cayman Sunset won us over - and we are delighted to contribute our own. All the other reviews were very accurate so here are a few tips I hadn't read that I was delighted to discover: - All of the bedrooms are very spacious - and even the one with the pool view is incredibly lovely and a wonderful retreat. You could fit a crib in any of them if necessary (we were traveling with our 18 month old). - If you do decide to stash a young child in the master suite upstairs, there's a spacious walk-in closet that served as a cozy mini-bedroom all for him. He loved having his own space and mom and dad enjoyed being able to watch TV quietly in the bedroom area without waking him up. - Duncan next door is extremely accommodating. We're from the frigid Midwest and didn't have snorkel equipment or a plan to rent them. He simply asked "what shoe size" and within five minutes four high-quality sets of masks, snorkels and fins were on our back porch table. - It's very easy walking distance to the Cracked Conch, where you have your choice of upscale delicious sunset dining (white tablecloths, wonderful wine list), or relaxed bar menu where you can literally where your bikini and snorkel there if you want to. Very different menus but in both cases the food and drink was spot on. It's just a wonderful location, perfect spot to unwind, and a really lovely, lovely home. You will want to return again and again. Thank you Darron and Duncan for giving us such a wonderful escape from the cold!
