“Wonderful Vacation Home in Paradise”

Reviewed 31 Jan 2014

My family of 6 (3 teenagers and a 21 year old) just returned from King and Ralph's wonderful home at Laguna resort area at Bang Tao beach. If you are looking for spacious, clean, well kept, beautiful to the eye then don't look any further than this house and the Laguna resort complex. The house is huge. We booked the maid's room as well which is just as nice as the rest of the house, just so all our boys could have their own "space" to chill in at night. The furniture is all good with lovely linens and lots of bath and beach towels are provided. The grounds and pool are great. The view is lovely over the lake. We used all the other pools available to us in the resort and ate at some of the restaurants too. Panache restaurant just up the road at The Lofts apartments is really good. The Manager of the house, Dao, is a wonderful person and nothing was too much bother for her. She even gave us a local phone to use while there. The maid does a fantastic job keeping the house clean and calls every 2-3 days to tidy up and change the linen. A highlight of our stay was watching a baby elephant swimming at the beach with us at Bang Tao. So special. All the staff and security at Laguna are so beautiful. Very respectful and polite. If we are lucky enough to be able top go back to Phuket we would not stay anywhere else. The whole complex is magnificent. Thank you King for answering all my emails promptly and for making our Phuket stay fantastic!

“Great value rental”

Reviewed 6 Jan 2014

Great service, easy booking process and quick check in and check out. Nice villa, good sized. Furnishings perhaps a little dated, but nice enough. Had some problems with the a/C in the maids quarter and the outside lights but this was sorted out straight away. Situated in a nice quiet area, restaurant close by and bus stop for shuttle around the Laguna are was right outside the villa. Great family holiday!

“Excellent Surrounding but Less Convenient”

Reviewed 10 Dec 2013

I was there for my wedding. Overall, the whole stay was confortable. Excellent neighbourhood as it is within a villa compound. A small lake right in front of the backyard. A bit too far away from the beach although the shuttle bus (30min - 60min interval/bus) is just outside the house. Extremely far from the shopping areas (Patong, Kama beach). Reasonably clean. Facilities in the villa is a bit old. The model of the TVs are quite outdated (not LCD screens) with very limited channels. Enough plates and bowls, but only a couple of pans, which are not "flat" any more. Maid and the villa manager are very friendly. However, although was told the maid will clean every 2 days, after given the tips on the first clean mission, she didnot show up until the day we are leaving... Positive side is if you dine in the hotel restaurants, you can get 50% off at selected restaurant including both food and beverages. Suggest try the Thai restaurant in Banyan Tree, excellent environment and service. Downside, have 0 access to the beach in front several hotels. Good for a family out if you like to enjoy sunshine and peace in the house. Not recommended to tourists, as taking a taxi to Patong takes 50 min + 1000THB/one way. Landlord is a good person, answers most of the request beforehand, but just sometimes difficult to contact.

“A new dimension to our usual hotel holiday!”

Reviewed 15 Apr 2013

We are a family of 5 (children aged 6, 12 and 14) who come out to Thailand at least once a year generally staying in two 5 star family resorts - one week in each. For a change this year we decided to try out a villa (through Owners Direct website in UK) followed by a week in a hotel in Khoa Lak. I must say we were not disappointed and it added a new dimension to our usual holiday with a lot more exploring. There are some lovely quiet unspoilt beaches to explore, amongst many other things - see tripadviser things to do in Phuket! The villa is part of a complex as you will see from the details - we hired a car through Canal within the resort at a negotiated cost of 1000 THB per day all inclusive. Petrol was around 1000THB for a full tank. We varied our days by often spending the morning in the villa around the pool and then going out for lunch, drinks, sunbathing at different beaches (Rawai, Kata, Karon, Banana Beach to name a few), back for a shower and then out again to the huge variety of restaurants (which we picked from Tripadviser recommendations). One of the days we visited the Big Budha (all free of charge), another day we went to the Centara water park (buy tickets in advance from agents - it costs less than on the door) and we spent two days at the new Outrigger hotel - purchasing a day pass. Day passes -if you staying at Outrigger Laguna Resorts & Villas, Adult- 500 baht per day ( included is 350 food and beverage credit) and Child ( under 12 years)- 350 baht per day ( included is 150 F & B Credit). The villa is great - lots of space and of a similar quality to our usual hotels (Centara, J W Marriott, Le Meridien). Owner and staff were very helpful and lent us a phone through our stay to contact them if there were any problems. There are many supermarkets a few minutes drive away, but we did bring wine, cereals, chocolate with us. We would definitely come to this villa again.

“What a place wow”

Reviewed 27 Dec 2012

Can't fault the place. the customer service puts other countries including my own to shame. Great buses take you where you need to go but only run until 11ish so if your a night owl like me go out of resort Walking to the beach takes an hour on foot or 4-5 mins on resort bus MaO YaN beach bar best bar on beach by a mile and have very own pizza chef and oven mmm

“Very relaxing holiday”

Reviewed 27 Dec 2012

The villa was fabulous and had everything we needed. There were 7 of us and there was plenty of room. The pool was a bit smaller than we expected but was absolutely fine and was maintained the whole time we were there. There was a larger pool not far from our villa that we used a few times. Transport around the resort was good. We would have liked a bit more information on things to do outside the resort as we found some lovely restaurants just outside, in our 2nd week. There was one called Black Cat which was very nice. We would definitely return to the villa again as we had a lovely relaxing holiday.

“Total paradise”

Reviewed 15 Feb 2012

We loved this place so much we're going to book it again. The villa was 5 star. We had a cleaner come every other day. She changed sheets and towels regularly. The weather was red hot, like the Thai food. We played golf 3 times in 1 week and the caddy's (ladies) told us where to putt. We had a guide from the laguna resort and he took us to see the old temples etc. What else can I say but try it. Best holiday we've ever had. Safe and friendly.

“Almost great”

Reviewed 28 Jan 2012

The villa was great in a lovely setting, but a number of small issues collectively took the edge off what was otherwise a great holiday during peak season: 1. No one present on arrival to open the house. 30 min wait. Had we flown long haul, this would have been a horrific start 2. Rough around the edges - damaged outdoor dining furniture (eventually replaced on day 6 of 7); unsafe toaster (replaced on day 5 of 7); rotten decking (dangerous for kids & mosquito breeding ground) - no action taken; TV cabinet door was broken/ controls broken (not rectified); garden lawn was unkempt with cigarette butts visible - butts removed but the rest remained unactioned. On the positive side, the location was delightful though a little out of Bangtao/Laguna. Stunning views of the lake and access to great communal swimming pool. We hired a car as we know the area well and this is strongly recommended.
