“Stunning Apartment, Stunning views, great location”
Great hosts! Beautiful apartment! what you read about the apartment underplays the gem that you will find when you arrive! the views are stunning, the outdoor dining is great for sunset dinners while enjoying the view. have already recommended the apartment to my colleagues! and if u feel like not cooking breakfast just walk around the corner and you are sorted!
“Fabulous whale watching weekend in De Kelders”
Just spent a lovely weekend at the Lookout at Whale Cove. The apartment was very well appointed, very comfortable and spacious. But the views from the balcony were what made it fantastic - uninterrupted views across the whole bay. I would have been happy just to sit there all weekend. Well worth a visit and would highly recommend.
“Mixture of relaxation and adventure”
Hello, we spent 3 weeks as a family all over South africa and stayed here at the end of our trip. Wonderful small town on the coast, beautiful and spacious condo to relax in. The adventure part was going shark diving, lots of options for this. We were a bit late for the whale season but also another potential activity in this region. All in all a wonderful stay, fantastic views from the condo.
“Wonderful home and beautiful view even if weather lousy”
What a wonderful home. We had bad weather but could still sit and watch the whales. We will definitely be back. Ps: We recommend the calamari from The Fish Lady, Main Road.
“What an amazing place!!”
To wake up in the morning to the sound of a whale blowing - a memory that will stay forever! A really fantastic apartment, space and comfort for the whole family. Thank you.
“My favourite place in all of South africa”
We have stayed in this apartment whenever we get a chance to get away since 2010. There are no words for how amazing the views are - being able to watch whales breaching from the comfort of the gorgeous king size bed is something very special indeed. The attention to detail throughout the apartment is excellent with beautiful unique artworks, the softest carpets, beautiful wooden floors and high quality bedding. Although my husband and I tend to use it as a solo getaway, the apartment could easily accommodate 6 people without feeling crowded and you can use the gas braai to host a wonderful evening on the balcony while watching the whales play in the sunset. There are plenty of hiking trails down on the cliffs below that allow you to follow the coastline and the whales progression if the mood strikes, but you won't be missing anything at all if you never even leave the property - on this trip we saw loads of whales as well as several pods of dolphins close enough to watch freely from the balcony. We live in Cape Town, so the drive is only roughly 2 hours from home, half an hour from Hermanus itself and less than 5 minutes from Gansbaai (which has some beautiful restaurants and plenty of little shops to keep you browsing for hours). My grandparents lived in De Kelders while I was growing up, so I have a personal attachment to the little town. One of my favourite things is the solitude and quiet it provides; with all the awe of viewing the whales that Hermanus offers with none of the chaos and crowding experienced there. This is a truly special place to escape from the craziness of city life and experience unparalleled tranquility and serenity in a luxurious private space. I am homesick for it already!
“Fabulous stay in De Kelders”
We really enjoyed this apartment. It was very comfortable and well-equipped, feeling like a home from home. The whale watching from the balcony was superb and the apartment couldn't be in a better location. Watching the sun set over the bay whilst sat on the balcony with a glass of (local) wine was a highlight of our recent holiday. We will definitely want to return on our next trip to South africa.
“Whales at De Kelders”
We were last here in February 2013 and enjoyed it so much that we had to come back and will definitely be back again in the future. You have really catered for your guests right from the dishwasher down to the electric blankets to ensure that they are comfortable in every respect. Thanks again, we really enjoyed our weekend!!! Ps - We were also truly blessed with the sighting of the whales right outside our balcony!!
“Luxury with a view”
The apartment is beautifully decorated and it is equipped with all the amenities you will need. Towels are provided and the kitchen is fully equipped. The shops are only a 7 minute drive from the apartment. The Drip Kelders (Drip caverns) are right across the street and Walker Bay is just a short 10 walk away. The view is incredible come rain or shine. We love staying here.
What a fantastic apartment! We had everything we could possibly need and more. It was lovely sitting out on the balcony watching the ocean. Very relaxing, we will definitely be back!
