Very Good

“a beautiful spot”

Reviewed 30 Mar 2014

paul and anna are wonderful hosts, and greycat django is also wonderful (providing great outdoor company - he respects the sanctity of the b&b; suites). we stayed this february in the pond suite... a beautiful spot for rest, relaxation, and quiet work. the careful decor and attention to detail is remarkable. what else? it is very important to try anna's amazing granola. also there are great hiking spots on the island, and paul will probably draw you a map if you ask!

Response from the owner Thank you Jasmine for taking the time to let other travelers know about Bloom Organic b&b. We look forward to having you visit us again in the future. Anna & PAul

“Get away and get it done - in style.”

Reviewed 29 Mar 2014

My girlfriend Jasmine and I spent a few days at Bloom over reading-week this past February, and had a magnificent time. It was the perfect place to relax and get caught up on left-over work from the term. Anna's delicious granola, jams, and baked goods were a wonderful touch, and it was a pleasure to chat with Paul about his amazing sculptural work. The white-on-white suites are stunning and impeccably designed with plenty of great light. Just a quick drive out of Ganges, but with all the peace and quiet you could ask for. Whether you're planning your first trip to Salt Spring, or returning for your hundredth visit, be sure to consider Bloom when booking a place to stay. Highest recommendations.

Response from the owner Thank you Joseph for your kind words.

“A country escape with elegant charm”

Reviewed 14 Apr 2012

There are 2 separate suites on this property: pond and orchard. We stayed at pond which is on the second floor, above the owners' art gallery, Blue Horse Folk art Gallery. Bloom is a delightful accommodation with all the comforts of home. There's a tranquil ambiance here that starts with the warm hospitality of the hosts, Paul & Anna. The stylish suite overlooks tranquil gardens and is decorated with the owners' original art. The rooftop garden enhances the view. The yard and the owners' country home provide a natural and serene backdrop. The suite is cozy and inviting. The vase of fresh tulips was a welcoming treat on a rainy and cold day. It is clear that Paul and anna have put a lot of thought into creating Bloom and they are dedicated to maintaining the property to high standards. We especially appreciated the spotless accommodation and the inviting bed with crisp, white linens.

“Total Tranquility”

Reviewed 6 Feb 2012

We decided to stay at this beautiful B&B; on Saltspring Island when we realized that it was recently constructed by the owners of Blue Horse Gallery. We used to live in Edmonton, Alberta, and we had visited the gallery a few years ago and bought a contemporary, blue rectangular vase that we love. The gallery is a must see if you're on Saltspring, but we leave that up to you to discover. There are two different rooms to stay in, both impeccably decorated. One is above the gallery with a beautiful view over the pond and garden. The other room which we stayed in is adjoined to the owner's fantastic studio/home. The furniture and walls in both rooms are entirely painted in a rich cream color. The walls are generously accented with original artwork from the gallery. The lamp bases are designed and made by the owners as well. The bed linens are of exceptional quality. Anna was a gracious host and made incredibly delicious pastries from her kitchen for our 2nd breakfast. This B&B; is located on a beautiful property with arbutus trees and has a truly exotic garden and pond with lovely stone patios around it. It is a work of art in itself, in progress. The fencing is beautifully designed as well. The location is very private and it is completely silent at night. A north location on the island, it is about a 15-minute drive to the towns of Vesuvius or Ganges, or about a half-hour drive to the southern most town at Fulford Harbor. The only suggestion that we have is for anna to offer the home-made pastries for every breakfast rather than just on the morning that one leaves. This would add value to the price charged.

“Bloom is Pure Bliss!”

Reviewed 4 Feb 2012

At the top of the gravel drive, beyond the gate, a glittering pond reflects sunlight on the gallery, and in the background sits a charming house. It's rare to land in a strange new place and feel at home, but instantly, we did. Anna greeted us at the gate and gave us the tour, explained the breakfast arrangements, told us to holler if we needed anything, and strolled back to the house. Ours was the suite above the Blue Horse Gallery, where each window frames a picture-perfect view: the pond beneath its towering trees, the rooftop garden and the house with its windows thrown wide, the deep blue sky. The rooms are squeaky clean and bright; the chairs are comfortable and invite relaxing with a good book. The bed is deeply comforting to sink into after a day of hiking, swimming, and sunning. After the first morning, which includes anna's tasty baked treats, breakfast is a do-it-yourself affair. The fridge is stocked with organic milk and butter, the drawers with homemade granola, good bread, teas and coffee. Everything you need for a hearty start to the day. (Even the soaps are homemade and pleasantly clean-scented.) Bring back cheeses and olives, crackers and wine from the farmer's market in town. There is a plethora of great food, local and delicious, to tempt you. The little kitchen has space for your finds. In the morning, hike through the trees, and over the rocks and driftwood, to a quiet stretch of sandy beach. Loop back around to the road and to Bloom in time for lunch in town. Our time at Bloom was deeply restorative and inspiring. Anna and Paul are perfect hosts, unobtrusive, yet ready to guide you toward a great hike or meal or glass of wine. Creative energy is the pulse of this vibrant island, and Bloom is no exception. Every detail here is artful and full of charm---really, it's perfect. We booked our 2012 stay on the spot!

“a perfect place to rejuvenate the mind and body”

Reviewed 31 Jan 2012

We stayed in "the Pond" suite located above Blue Horse studio. It was immaculately clean, bed with it's crisp white linens & duvet was so comfortable that it was difficult to wake and everything was organic from the wonderful food to the bathroom products. The tranquility of the place is like no other while having all the modern conveniences of home without TV which we found to be a bonus. Anna's and Paul's attention to detail is evident throughout the property and is a photographer's or artist's delight. Would definitely stay here again!

“Beautiful, Blooming, Bed and Breakfast”

Reviewed 30 Jan 2012

My Husband and I stayed at this fantastic B&B; on our wedding night, and I the night before our wedding. It was one of the highlights of our wedding for sure! To be able to come back to this beautiful, peaceful and romantic place after our beautiful day was fantastic! Paul, Anna and their family are some of the warmest people I have met, and with their incredible creativity, have created a wonderful retreat above their art gallery. Eating our breakfast of delicious coffee, homemade granola and yogurt, while looking out of the room's open windows at the pond and beautiful grounds was the best way to start off the first day of our married life together! Its only 15 minutes from the town of ganges and is close to many hikes and beaches. I would definitely recommend this lovely getaway. <3

“Heaven on Earth..”

Reviewed 28 Jan 2012

This was the best getaway we have ever taken - the property was not only gorgeous, but incredibly quiet and peaceful, which is exactly what we needed. Anna and Paul were generous and gracious hosts, and the room exceeded expectation. I would like to live here year round.

“Magical stay at Bloom B”

Reviewed 28 Jan 2012

I can't decide what I fell in love with more, Salt Spring or the Bloom B&B; - maybe it was the magical combination of both. You can tell this place is run by artists, because the decor is so beautiful & peaceful, but what comes as a lovely surprise is that they are also great foodies - the homemade muesli & bread & jam were sooo delicious! and it is quite a treat to sit in the light airy living room eating it at your leisure in the morning. Anna & Paul are delightful too. I only wish I lived closer so that I could come back more often.

“A beautiful, restful, delicious and inspiring stay!”

Reviewed 28 Jan 2012

Bloom was exactly what my boyfriend and I were looking for. The only problem with Bloom is that you don't want to leave. The accommodation is very comfortable and incredibly beautiful and the food was perfect - delicious, fresh, homemade and locally/organically made. It was so easy to relax when I knew that Paul and anna had taken care of every detail. Thank you so much!
