“Breathtaking Views and Warm, Comfortable Home”
This is a three-level home and each level provides a breathtaking view. We traveled with three teenagers and everyone had their own bedroom and privacy. It is a very comfortable home with all of the amenities, including a chef's kitchen. We spent a lot of time playing games in the large kitchen area and when we felt like venturing out, we were close to Breckenridge, Vail and took a day-trip to Denver. This is one of the best family vacations we ever had - and we would return to Bear Lodge in a heartbeat!
What a wonderful comfortable home! We were 8 people staying at Bear lodge. The house has plenty of room for everyone to have private space and also large living room where we all could be together without being on top of each other. It is very well kept, very clean. The decor is terrific, perfect for a mountain lodge. The view from the large deck is something very special, I just want to keep on looking. We will definitely be back and I will recommend to friends and family.
“Ladies lost Weekend”
The 18th annual ladies get away weekend was held here two years in a row, we enjoyed the property so much. Not just the location, but the amenities, so well appointed with all we needed to enjoy a wonderful 4 days of enjoying the scenery, skiing, snowshoeing out the back door into a huge mountain open space, shopping & enjoying the beautifully appointed gourmet kitchen which we used constantly. Always 5 Diamond Lodging & always a fabulous mountain lodge to relax in.
“Better than the pictures!”
Great place, secluded yet close to in town (if your car can handle the uphill during the wintertime with snow on the ground). Clean, spacious, well decorated. Rooms were divided up to even out the private space. Only problem there was, was that maintenance was going to shovel the snow on the decks and never came. Would stay here again only if there was a hot tub.
“Trip of the year!!!”
Can't say enough about this place! Went with my in-laws and had more than enough room for us to have fun, live, be loud, all while letting the babies sleep. The house has everything you will need from board games, Dvds, plates, pans, toys for outside, and the list goes on. The location was close enough to town to be a simple trip to store or dinner (try the Dam Brewery) but far enough out so you didn't feel like you were in town. We got 12-18 inches of snow in 30 hours and the plows came by the next day and we got out with little problems. Bed rooms in the cabin were large and roomy, bathrooms were great with good water pressure, fireplaces kept the home as hot as you needed. Place was great. Want to go back already. This is the place to stay, views can't be beat!
“Best View and Luxury Decor”
Our family of 9 (2 married children) stayed here for a beautiful summer week. We we impressed with the clear view, private lot and beautiful "woodsy" yet luxury decor. Caution on the two stairways to the living area. Not for visitors with any gait issues; but definitely worth the trip up for the view. The location gave us good starting point for trip back to Denver airport/shopping and trips to 3 mountains, spa in Idaho Springs, and grocery and outlet mall shopping. Yet we had a completely quiet and serene spot on the mountainside. Pro: I easily cooked all meals in the hub-like kitchen of the great room on the top deck, great appliances, service for 10, new extra large laundry equip. Con: Bakeware selection could be expanded by a pizza pan or cake pan or cookie sheet. Pro: The management company was super about responding to internet connection issues even on a weekend. Con: The security deposit took 3 weeks and two phone calls to get back. As an area issue, Golf is too expensive here to make flying your clubs worthwhile. There are plenty of other things to do including fabulous sunsets on the Dillon dam and rafting the arkansas River.
“Lost Weekenders at Bear Lodge”
Every Feb. our L.O.S.T. (Ladies On Skis Together) weekenders gather (12 - 24 of us)for a wonderful gathering of cooking, laughing, sharing, snow sports and caring for each other. we've done this for 18 yrs now and with 5 Diamond's help we chose Bear Lodge. Great weekend getaway for us all (11 this year). It was a lot of stairs but those stairs accessed a lot of floor real estate which was beautifully and whimsically decorated. Very well appointed with an upscale wildlife decor like we've never seen. Note: the backlit salmon in kitchen was most amazing and caught everyone's decorative eye, so masterfully done. We did have some plumbing problems in the bottom level bath, we had an emergency number to call & did receive a calback, straightaway. Fabulously stunning view from our living/dining floor & top deck in Wildernest. Outdoor access for ski gear, great idea. Everyone should walk away from a rested vaca at Bear Lodge along with some greatly creative decorating ideas to boot for your own 'mountain lodge' (home or away from home)
“Winter Wonderland in early spring”
During our week long stay we had daily snows. The driveway and roadways were plowed as needed. We had trouble with the tv cable reception and Five Diamond sent out there own maintenance man after comcast was not able to fix the problem. We had a new router and were able to cheer for our March Madness favorites. This house is well equipped with extra bedding, a fully stocked kitchen and truly the best views from the front windows. this is our second year in this home and we will continue to try and return here.
This place was great for a family. Very clean and very comfortable!
