“Perfect for a large group”

Reviewed 12 Sep 2013

The house was immaculate upon arrival and we couldn't have been happier. We had 6 adults and 9 children and more than enough room. The location is fantastic - one building from the boardwalk, then beach. We are going to stay there again next year.

“Wonderful House”

Reviewed 25 Jul 2013

This house was one of the best places our family has stayed in at the beach. The furnishings were nice, the rooms were comfortable, most mattresses were fine, kitchen well-equipped, and there are lots of places to gather. And it's so close to the boardwalk and beach. The best feature of the house is the large closed-in porch with a view of the ocean. That's where we spent most of our time in the house. The only drawback for us were the steps. The master is on the main (2nd) floor with the kitchen, dining, living, and porch areas; and all of the other bedrooms are downstairs. We had 2 elderly and/or disabled people with us and the 2 flights of steps proved to be a challenge. And some the vertical blinds were in disrepair and kept falling down. Hopefully that's fixed by now. We still enjoyed ourselves very much and would return.

“Another lovely stay at 8 Virginia avenue”

Reviewed 19 Jul 2013

As always the house was well-stocked with all the basics. Everything was clean. There are still outlets where one of the plugs has no juice. Phones don't work anywhere but the 2 upstairs jacks. There are no functioning clocks in the four downstairs bedrooms. That being said, no one much cares about the time when on vacation and everyone uses their cell phones. Still, it would be nice if these things worked. Also, there is no broom sturdy enough to sweep outside; the driveway is lined with small stones and it is helpful to be able to get them off the drive to save all from foot pain. One of the realtors from CB who was showing the property to a prospective renter promised me a real (corn) broom but it never arrived. It would be a wonderful addition!

“Just what we were looking for”

Reviewed 19 Jul 2012

This was the second time that my group stayed in 8 Virginia. We came back because of the open second floor spaces, the "meeting" room that is enclosed in glass and the spaceous bedrooms.

“Great location!”

Reviewed 22 Oct 2011

We love this home and it's location! We have rented it for 3 consecutive years. It could use carpet replacement, upgraded bathrooms, and new sofas. The new tv this year was a great treat!

“Close ... But far”

Reviewed 14 Oct 2011

My family and I have stayed in this house for the past 13 summers. Yes ... I think we like it. Why? Well first of all, the house is extremely close to the beach ... only one property away from the boardwalk. You can actually see the beach and hear the waves from the 2nd floor enclosed porch. It's location is also convenient (very short walk) to all the local restaurants, shopping, and, of course, Fun Land. However, it is just far enough away from the main street (Rehoboth avenue) where it feels quiet and removed. If you have a family ... or a large group, I would highly recommend. Enjoy!

“We Love the Beach House!”

Reviewed 13 Oct 2011

We have stayed at this property for the last three years and plan on staying next year as well. The location is great and accomodates our family (three generations) perfectly. Every year we are pleased to discover improvements and updates to the rental unit. Rehoboth Beach has been "our spot" for 43 years and every year it gets better and better.

“Wonderful, luxurious, convenient”

Reviewed 13 Oct 2011

Large house with lots of room for extended family (we totaled 12). Very comfortable. Great parking on side of house. Kids could walk to the beach; no streets to cross. Very quiet location.

“The Beach and Beach Bunnies”

Reviewed 30 Dec 2010

All of us love this place. We would like to make this suggestion. In one of the bedrooms they have a bunk bed, since we are not young girls this is not a good, only one person can sleep in this room. Our suggestion is that they have two single beds in that room. This is only a suggestion. We love this place!!!. It's close to the beach and boardwalk and shopping!! The place is beautiful. Rooms are big and clean. Views are beautiful. We all enjoy looking at the beach and seeing and hearing the waves.

“Annual Friends at the Beach Time”

Reviewed 9 Dec 2010

We have been renting 8 Virginia avenue for 2 weeks (most years) since it was built in 1998. The layout of the house and its ocean view second floor screened porch make for a great place to spread out and enjoy the company of many friends or family - it sleeps 12, plus 2 on the sofa bed. The property is regularly maintained and updated and is fully equipped for a group that loves to cook and eat in at least every other evening. Its proximity to the beach is ideal and it is at the quiet north end of the boardwalk. We love it!
