“Amazing and clean house”

Reviewed 8 Apr 2014

This place was perfect! It had everything we needed and it was close to beach and lots of shops.

“Convenient”

Reviewed 6 Apr 2014

This condo is well-equipped and very convenient. It is, however, located in a party district. That means, you will hear loud music playing at night and you will see drunk people out and about. It is very close to the beach and restaurants, and the bus stop is just across the street. So ... it depends on you ... we, being a family, won't stay again, because we prefer a quiet area ... but if you are single and love to party, this might be the place for you!

“Not ideal”

Reviewed 16 Mar 2014

The online service for renting this unit was smooth and hassel free. The young lady that helped me feel secure about booking on line was great! Upon arrival the home was exactly as it showed online. As our holiday progressed we found the location to be extremely noisey. The unit is right across the street from one of the many popular bars and it was a party every night! From bar fights to drunks right outside your bedroom window and the traffic going to and from the bar. We found the bikes in horrible shape, and there was only 2 even tho the add stated 10! We were a party of 4. Althought they did work it wouldn't hurt to have nicer bikes. We did though enjoy riding to and from the boardwalk and all around the bays, what a beautiful area! We found the beds horrible and had to remove the two inch padded mattress covers so we could get thru our last couple of nights. The bathtub drained so slowly that if one person showered, the next person was showering in a tub full of dirty water, plus this left a very slippery film all over the tub. We are talking about 45 minutes to an hour to drain. There were instructions that there was someone we could call but after calling about only having two bikes for a party of four, we were told to either use someone else's or wait until another unit went home. So we decide it just let the tub drain slowly. We found out that most of the units are rented to permanent residences which of all are under 30 and like to party as well. All of the permanent residences that we met were very very nice people, thank goodness! If we ever do decide to go back to the San Diego area we will definitely stay closer to the bay or the boardwalk now that we know more about the area and have actually seen it it's much easier to know what your getting into. With all that being said our visit still wasn't terrible we are all pretty easy going and still loved being and see such a beautiful fun area but, we would not return to Jeremy's on Felspar!

“We had everything at our finger tips!”

We were comfortable, close to the beach which was essential and we had everything we needed whether it be in the rental or within walking distance.

“Location Location Location”

Reviewed 3 Dec 2013

Great Location is the best way to describe this unit. There are 8 condos surrounding a courtyard. One car garage in the alley. Back gate lets you out right behind Garnet Street. Trader Joes was a one minute walk. Bed in master bedroom was comfortable, beds in second bedroom were comfortable. Couches were perfect for a nap. We never used the fold out bed in the living room. Tv was a bit small for watching Thanksgiving football. Kitchen was adequately stocked with dishes and cooking utensils. There was no condiments or spices, however. There was no fan in the bathroom, which I thought was odd. It is a great spot for 20 - 30 year olds. Would not recommend for families with small kids.

“Nice, but loud at night”

Reviewed 2 Nov 2013

Nancy visited our place the day we arrived. She was very nice and attentive. The apartment has all the necessities, even for cooking. The amenities are great in the apartment itself. One night we had trouble with our door code and they worked very hard and quickly to resolve the issue. The rooms are great and the bathroom was good for what we needed. It was a very nice home away from home. The reason I gave the place 3 stars was parking and the noise. The apartment is located 1 block from the main strip in pacific beach. This is great during the day to have access to shops and restaurants. However, at night it becomes like a college dorm room. We were woken up several times to girls screaming, people yelling, and the blaring music from the restaurants turned night clubs. I had to buy ear plugs before going to bed the second night. Fortunately the noise didn't seem to disturb our kids, but it was very disturbing for my husband and I. If you are a light sleeper, beware about renting this place. The noise was better during the week, but still present. In conjunction with this problem was the parking. When I was looking at the website for this property it stated that there was a garage. I didn't figure parking would be an issue. However, after booking and prior to our arrival we received an informational email that stated that minivans and trucks will not fit in the garage. It was too late to make any changes so we had to try to find parking on the street. During the day this was no big deal, but because of the night life there were several nights my husband had to drop me and the kids off to park blocks away. One night he gave up looking for a space and just paid to park in a lot nearby that was associated with the bars/clubs. That was a disappointing and frustrating issue caused by a lack of information up front. I would possibly stay in this rental property again, but I would probably only stay during a week day.

“Comfortable apartment in the heart of Pacific Beach, well equipp”

Reviewed 22 Sep 2013

The booking service was efficient and we were kept well informed at all stages. Detailed instructions as to access etc. made it very easy to arrive and settle in. The apartment is well furnished, and equipment such as bicycles, body boards, and a gas bbq are provided, and there are tables and chairs outside in the shared courtyard garden. I loved watching hummingbirds coming and going. As the apartment is only a couple of blocks from the main drag of Garnet, it could be a bit noisy at night but this was compensated for by being so close to the beach. We did not have a car, so it was great to have two good grocery stores, 'Sprouts' and 'Trader Joe's' nearby. We had a wonderful holiday.

“Could be better, but we had fun just the same.”

I have never not loved a summer rental, but this one fell short of expectations. Enough bikes for our family of 5 were rarely available after the first day and we chose this site due to its having many bikes. Regular smoking in common area (by both long-term and short-term unit renters). Broken beach chair, missing beach umbrella (I purchased one and left it). Ripped sheet on master bed, blood stains on duvet cover in 2nd bedroom. Blinds missing slats in master bedroom meant we changed with lights off or went to another room. Kitchen had dirty dishes in cupboard and sticky table and chairs. Whole until needs a fresh coat of paint. Some silverfish, but not many after we settled in. We had to purchase more kleenex and TP as it ran out before our stay was over (and we were out most of each day we stayed). That said, the unit had a clean bathroom and great supply of hot water. Wi-fi worked well and we like having a coded entry instead of a key. The master bed mattress was very comfortable. The garden courtyard was lovely (when no one else was smoking out there). The location was great as far as the beach. It is close to Garnet and a very popular bar/night life, so count on noise (thumping bass beat) until 2am. That was what we expected, but then the party continues across the courtyard. Perhaps it was just during our week, but I don't care to hear shouting about beer bongs and the like until 3 in the morning. Noise machine and windows shut helps, but it can get warm. Lastly, whenever I did call the office, a friendly voice was always there to answer and assist. I just did not want to be "that renter" who was always calling about something. For our 9 days, it was just easier to deal with things ourselves rather than sit around and wait for someone to figure out bikes, deliver TP, etc. If you are in college (over 21)and like to party late, this is a great place. I would recommend this rental if you can put up with the noise and go with the flow.

“Comfortable and Convenient”

This is the second year I have stayed at this location. Everything about it is easeful...it is located within walking distance of shopping, restaurants, the beach. It makes a wonderful home base for a great vacation for a small family or group of friends. The house is equipped for every possible need, and when something was lacking, it arrived within a couple of hours of my phone call. Nancy's Vacation Rentals is a company that truly understands excellent customerr service. On a scale of 1-10' they are a 10!

“A beautiful stay for our family of 6 and close to the beach!”

Reviewed 22 Jun 2013

We had a terrific time in sunny San Diego. This apartment was well equipped, clean and comfortable for all of us. The beds were great! We were about 7 blocks to the beach, which was a walkable distance for our kids (ages 6-12). There are plenty of little restaurants and a Trader Joes & Sprouts for last minute items. The only item we could have used was a clothes line for all our beach attire. I have seen retractable clothes lines in hotel showers before which would be a great addition. The detailed check list prior to our trip from Nancy's was very helpful and everything worked as they said it would. Thanks for a great trip!
