“Served our needs”
Location to beach was great. Location to noisy bar was not. We got by with the noise and they do provide fans/noise machines. I couldn't imagine staying there in summer with windows open. However, it served the purposes for us. There's 2 sofas and one needs replaced. They are/were very attentive to any & all phone calls. Immediately sent service repair man to fix garage door. Laundry facility on premise was nice, along with soap etc. House seemed a little dirty, but perhaps that's common with the sea air. Overall, we'd probably stay again.
This is a nice clean place to stay the bikes and beach toys that are provided is a great touch the kitchen has everything you need and the location just a few blocks from the beach and shops groceries and bars and restaurants all a block or two away. The kids loved it and just 5 minutes to sea world can't wait to come back. Also loved sitting outside in the morning listening to the ocean
“Perfect for an affordable family beach vacation!”
When I was reading reviews of this rental people complained about the location and the proximity to bars and the noise involved. While we ourselves were awake and about outside the rental we could hear noise but once we were in bed I had no trouble falling asleep. There are noise machines available but we didnt need to use them. Everything we needed for the beach was available--except cooler and food:) trader joes and sprouts were a 60 second walk away. Beach was a 10 minute drive away (with traffic). Parking was problematic at times but doable. Couches were a little dated and uncomfortable at times. I really tried to touch on all aspects of Our stay. It was an amazing experience. We have moved on to a rental in anaheim for our trip to Disney and I can't tell you I am missing the apartment on Felspar's. Can't wait to rent again!
“Good, but for a different crowd.”
The house was clean and cute. The beds were comfy. The noise from the surrounding neighbors was a problem all nights. One home in particular was extremely loud until 5 am on the first night we were there. I was looking for more of a family feel and this was more of a college area. The walk to beach was not too far. We rented bikes since we needed baby seats and one of the two bikes in the garage had a faulty chain that kept falling off. The customer service was nice every time I called them. I would not recommend this home for families with small children because of the noise and surrounding atmosphere.Parking was not very conveint. we were too big for the garage and in the night windows of other vehicles were broken out up the street we were parked on(Felspar). According to a neighbor this mischief happens often. We did enjoy Kayaking and riding bikes on the board walk as well as time on the beach. I was just looking for a quiet family time.
This is the third year in a row staying at 1175 Felspar. Nancy does her best to make sure that our vacation is worry free. From beach towels to laundry detergent, its all there. I love the place, and I will be back next year.
“Nice place, but a bit noisy”
The apartment was absolutely good enough for my partens, my 9 year old brother and me. The apartment had all we needed for 11 days. It was very nice to have a small garden outside. It was pretty clean, but we found some tracses from others guests, but nothing to bother with. There was some small ants criping around in the living room. The doublebed was nice, but the bunk bed made a lot of noise and was according to my parents not very comfortable. So we will not recomend this bed for adults. My little brother, who is 9, thougth it was good enough. Some of the nights were very noisy because of the neigbours party, but we found it best to accept the noise. At least, this is quiet close to the beach and the bars. For me, it seemes like it lives many young people in the neigbourhood. Very nice with a garage, since it is a bit hard to find parking in the area. All toghether, a nice place that is worth the money. But I will say that the apartment needs a little upgrade in a few years.
“Close to everything!”
Great little house, super close to Trader Joe's and Sprouts markets and the best sushi restaurant around (PB Sushi, kitty corner to the complex), and an easy walk/bicycle to the beach and great swimming and surfing. Five of us were perfectly comfortable in the house and it was great to have a place stocked with all the basics so we could cook or grab an extra towel whenever we needed. The only downside is the proximity to the nightlife of Pacific Beach on Garnet Blvd, not even 1/2 block away. Late night drunken revelry on most nights of the week makes the bedroom on the street side rather loud, and because there isn't an air conditioning system, if you try to close the window to the noise the room becomes stiflingly hot. During our 10 day stay, the vacation rental side of the little complex was quiet and the guests were friendly and courteous, while two of the units on the regular rental side (ironically, the side away from the street noise) threw several loud, crowded, parties with guests getting drunker and more belligerent as the night went on. On two separate nights there were fights and people trying to break through front doors at 3 and 3:30 am happening right outside our bedroom window on the courtyard side of the complex. Definitely not optimal. Despite the shenanigans of the young and drunk crowd, our stay was great and we loved having bicycles and boogie boards to use in this area where it's easy to find everything you could possibly want/need. The Nancy's staff responsive and helpful and we'll absolutely book with them again.
“Good location, very loud every night.”
When I booked your apartment, I understood there was a bar behind it, but I did not realize it would be loud until four in the morning every night of the week. I figured I could deal with the noise until 1 or 2 on the weekend. The neighbors across from the apartment were very noisy all night long. This was disappointing to me. The other disappointing factor was that the dvd player and oven did not work. Although you sent out your maintenance man quickly, it disrupted our plans and I was disappointed I did not get a discount on my weekly stay for having to put up with broken items which seem pretty basic to me. The bunk beds were incredibly squeaky and this was a nuisance for the kids to deal with. Okay, now the good part...the proximity to the stores and restaurants was great. The beach cruisers were fun and we loved walking everywhere from the apartment.
“Enjoyed being close to everything including the beach!”
The apartment was cute, beds were comfortable. They had fans for when it was warm. The night life was a little much until 2am, then it was quiet. I really enjoyed being able to walk right out the back to get real "Mexican" food. Floors could have been cleaner. The one problem we ran into was the circuit breaker kept popping and needed to be reset several times while using the hairdryer. All in all, I was pleased with our stay, and would come back again.
I did like my stay, but, I left a few items there on accident, and I was told they would be sent to me, I am still waiting. That's my only negative.
