“Every morning I woke up happy, refreshed and to the singing of b”

Reviewed 21 Aug 2012

Marilyn Proctor was delightful and so accommodating as were all the folks at adobe that I communicated with. Any maintenance issue was always quickly addressed. My husband and I loved staying just a few miles from the town center and right next door, literally, to the Santa Fe Opera. We attended all 5 productions and a special concert. The security staff at the gate welcomed us each and every time we drove in. We loved staying for 5 weeks, feeling so at home and what we liked least was having to leave. We have already signed up for next summer!

Response from the manager We look forward to having you with us again in 2013!

“Peaceful Paradise”

Reviewed 21 Aug 2012

Aria is a peaceful paradise. It couldn't be more convenient for the opera. We loved the home. It had all the amenities. Wonderful kitchen, spacious bedrooms and bathrooms. Beautiful living room and a dining room table that seats 10! The backyard is stunning. Trees to give shade and a lovely sound in the wind. Very spacious with lots of seating. Gorgeous view. The gate keepers are very accommodating and friendly. All of this and only a few minutes from downtown Santa Fe. Adobe Destinations made everything easy. We did the whole thing online.

Response from the manager Thank you Andree - we look forward to having you with us again next year!

“Memorial Day comfort”

Reviewed 21 Jun 2012

Having been at aria before, we invited 2 other couples to join us this trip. Three friends joined us. They loved aria so much that we couldn't get them out the door each evening---they wanted to cook and "eat in" to enjoy the beautiful ambience and the terrific ammenities aria has to offer. What a comfortable home to accommodate three couples. Mornings, sitting around the breakfast nook was priceless. Evenings, bbq-ing and enjoying a fire in the courtyard was magical. We can't recommend this home strongly enough. And all of us plan to go back again next year!!

“Gray-Green Hills and Purple Mountains”

Reviewed 24 Jun 2011

Our visit to the aria found the spirit of Santa Fe present in every aspect of this home. After leaving the freeway just outside the metropolitan area of Santa Fe, the road somehow transformed into a well-maintained trail of gravel. At the community gate a friendly guard welcomed us--and we entered an area of rolling hills that became our new world, all of it wide open and spotted with gray-green chapparal as far as the eye can see. As we pulled into the driveway at our destination we were greeted with a graceful adobe arch and a bright blue pottery cistern. Into the dooryard and then through the thick wooden door on iron hinges, we entered a spacious interior that smelled of leather and sage. The beautiful brick floors before us were the first note of the aria, providing radiant heat on cold mornings. The view through the glass doors across the back of the great room revealed purple mountains on the horizon above the rolling gray-green hills. Beautiful colors were everywhere in the house, from the dramatic paintings on the walls and the indigenous pottery, to the carved furniture pieces and the handwoven carpet in front of the fireplace. The bedrooms were no exception to the rule. Bathing was a luxurious experience. All showers and baths were exquisitely tiled and the radiant brick floors made each bathing room equally inviting--including the smallest one with the sink that is fired like Spanish tile. Mornings we made breakfast on the aged cucina grande table in the bright open spaces of the kitchen. The brick floor and Spanish tiles provided a festive atmosphere and we found everything we needed to prepare our meals. As for eating, we could choose the cozy nook in the kitchen, made out of the adobe walls themselves, or the patio in front of the old clay fireplace outside--and if our mood called for it, we sat in the elegant dining area of the great room at a massive wooden table under an Old World iron chandelier. Perfect.

“we felt at home”

Reviewed 23 May 2011

We spent Christmas and New Year in this truly wonderful house. On the outside this sturdy castle blends in with the magical landscape in a quiet unobtrusive way - the thick walls and wooden beams give it a feeling of permanence. On the inside the house and furnishing seemed to us Europeans to reflect well the New Mexican past - native american and Spanish influences - coupled with all the modern american comforts. I really liked the collection of exquisite pottery. The house is furnished tastefully and beautifully in an unostentious way. The layout of the house is simple and logical, giving it a sense of openess while at the same time providing lots of room for privacy. A view of the high country on the patio, two large bedrooms along side the patio with a third on the side of the house, the living-room with its grand fireplace and dinner table that easily fitted 12 people during Christmas dinner. The kitchen is large and is a living-room in itself. Everything was in excellent order. It was a great place to return to from skiing and from expeditions to Santa Fe and Northern New Mexico. We felt at home here.

“Very comfortable, beautiful home with gorgeous southwest decor.”

This home is a treasure. It is set up beautifully to accommodate three couples in luxurious style. The family kitchen is large and just made for gathering. The location feels very private and safe. I can't say enough great things about this property. I would return in an instant!!

“Aria review”

Reviewed 6 May 2011

I have stayed at this home several times and during different times of the year (winter, spring, and summer). I find the location to be wonderful and very convenient. You can get away from all the chaos of downtown and just relax and enjoy the beautiful views. The house is well designed and is tastefully furnished with anything a person could possibly need. Also there are lots of different areas that are useable - such as a patio in both the front and back yards. The house has a wonderful serene atmosphere. Heaven on earth.

“A truly wonderful place”

Reviewed 26 Apr 2011

My wife and I had the pleasure of spending several days/nights at this distinctive home last year. I was a wonderful experience, and we highly recommend it. We have traveled extensively around the world for over 30 years. Rarely have we encountered accommodations with such a unique combination of space, warmth, design, proximity to attractions, and cost effectiveness. It is a truly wonderful place.
