“1 Angels Dream”
Perfect location - the views and the breezes are lovely and the house is so easy to get to...no long wait in traffic, just across the bridge and onto Coast Guard Rd! The kitchen/great room layout is ideal for large family groups to share time together. There is a raised banquette that allows seated diners to see the those seated at the dining room table, as well as the entire room. We had relatives who were staying nearby come over every evening for dinner and a music jam session. Plenty of areas in the house to be by yourself, as well.
“Great house, needs some maintenance addressed.”
Great place for our family gathering. The pool was very popular with the grandkids! There's always so much to do at Emerald Isle, too. However, house has some maintenance issues that definitely need to be addressed. Perhaps the booking company should urge the owner to get them fixed. Overall, we loved our stay, and recommend Emerald Isle Realty.

“Angel's Dream - hardly”
Renter beware!!! If you are paying over $9,000 for a rental and it is rated "gold" and all these amenities are identified, would you not assume that this is what you are paying for? Read the fine print of the contract you sign. Too bad, so sad if amenities do not work. You are on your own. We rented this place because it was large enough to accommodate everyone who was planning to come and because it had an elevator to accommodate three floors with the kitchen on the third floor only to find the Tuesday before arrival that the elevator did not work. Although we found out later that this was known to the realty company at least two weeks before our arrival. We were not offered an alternative. Consequently, one couple backed out because there was no elevator and everyone else had to pay an additional amount to cover the cost of the rental. Also, I wish I could attach the picture of the one bedroom that had no blinds but sheets over the sliding glass door.. There were other issues too numerous to mention. We have been going to Emerald Isle for a number of years dating back to the late 70's. This is not the first time we have run into problems with issues with the reality companies. We understand that they are in business to make money but as a consequence they have too few people to manage properties and keep things in working order. Additionally, this rental is further complicated because while it is rented by Emerald Isle Realty, the maintenance and cleaning service are managed by the owner of the rental. We were led to believe that issues related to these services were out of the realty company's control. Interesting to note that the last review posted for Angel's Dream was 2013. Hasn't anyone one responded in all that time or have you chosen not to include them?

I am sorry to hear of your disappointment, and I understand your frustration when you were advised that the elevator would be inoperable for your stay. It is true that luxury amenities such as an elevator are not guaranteed. This is partly because the repairs of such items are not handled by general maintenance technicians but instead require companies and technicians who are licensed and specialize in such work. These companies or repairmen are not plentiful so repairs of elevators and other luxury amenities can take time. Most of our residential elevators are not ADA approved which is why they are considered a luxury amenity and we can't offer alternative accommodations. While I know it won't help in navigating a home throughout your stay, our staff is always happy to provide loading and unloading assistance when an elevator is not working. If you aren't offered this, and you should be, please request it and we will happily schedule it for you. As for other issues, I encourage you to speak with a member of our guest services team should you ever encounter a list of items that need our attention. We are always available and happy to help you enjoy a relaxing time on our beautiful island.
“Nice house in a great location, love Emerald Isle!”
1 angel's Dream was a nice house. It was located in a great area. The beach access was wonderful and the views of the beach and ocean from the house were outstanding. It could have used a better cleaning before we arrived and we had trouble with the septic alarm going off. Also, the air conditioning on the first floor was not working. Maintenance came and checked the air conditioner and said they would look into it and we never heard back from them. The people staying on the 1st floor were hot the whole vacation. Otherwise the house was really nice and everyone had their own bathroom which was great. We all loved Emerald Isle and plan on returning!
“Somewhat disappointing and frustrating.”
There is no doubt the house was lovely - but - I paid a good amount of money to rent this "Pearl" house and so many things needed attention. Central air wasn't working in the M.Bdrm; it had a portable a.C. in the window held together with duct tape, the temp.stayed on 78 degrees;the M. bath was a sauna all week. Cen.air in another bedrm. wasn't working well. Return air vents were dirty-filters had to be replaced. Missing Slats and wands on the vertical blinds in several rooms missing. We had to put a sheet up to cover half the sliding glass door in one of the bedrooms. Our last day there, they expected us to have the a.C. people access the attic from M.Bath.for repair -4 hr job. I am 77 yrs. old and for very personal reasons, I needed my bathroom to be private.I rented a very large house to accommodate my family of 14 people comfortably...sofa bed was broken and unusable...two "big" people had to sleep on bunk bed mattresses put on the floor. The realty people told me: Well the house sleeps 16 people so there should have been plenty of room. I would have rented a smaller, less Expensive home if I wanted cramped, uncomfortable arrangements for my family. I expected to get what I paid for this "Pearl" house. Emerald Isle Realty didn't see to it that it was in "Pearl" condition. More over, they did not give me a credit on the rental charge for the inconvenience and discomfort we experienced. One other thing, the flush mechanism in one of the toilets wasn't working properly; plumber never showed up. Very, disappointed with this "house experience". Emerald Isle Realty: you need to be more attentive to the condition of the homes you rent; inspect them when renters leave to make sure all repairs/issues are taken care of before the next renter occupies. My family should not have been so uncomfortable and inconvenienced.

This is indicative of the lavish, professionally designed decor, upgraded surfaces and appliances, and amenities. I certainly understand your disappointment and the discomfort and inconvenience you experienced when the air conditioning went out. This home was great for our multigenerational family of 17, ages 7 months to 87 years young. The home is a little older but furnishings were very nice. We had seen a review of this property from June 2013 where the guests had experienced the washer/dryers not working, and the elevator broke down and was out of service for 2 days. Also, that the kitchen was not equipped adequately for the size of the property. We stayed the week of July 22 and found the washer/dryers in working order and the day we arrived the housekeeping crew arrived with all new supplies for the kitchen! We had plenty of kitchen equipment for our large extended family. The elevator did malfunction once, but only because we failed to follow the instructions. We called the maintenance number and a very nice man came within an hour and fixed our problem. We also had some trouble the first day with some of the Tv's in the house and another call to maintenance was answered promptly and a repairman came to address the issue. I must say we had been a little worried after reading the June review, but we found our entire vacation experience truly an "Angel's Dream"!!!
“This rental is over priced, poorly maintained, and has a poorly”
The house was not clean when we arrived- rental company was aware housekeeping left before finishing but did not send anyone to complete cleaning. The home is poorly maintained, and the kitchen is very incompletely stocked with cooking utensils. The location and the pool are great, but the house leaves much to be desired. The house is over priced for the condition and amenities. The ice maker and washing machine broken. I made several calls to rental company but never received call back or repair. I've rented from Emerald Isle realty on several occasions. This was a dissatisfying house and service experience.

“Great family gathering place”
Fourteen of us ( six Children) had a memorable time. House is older, but with many amenities. Eight bedrooms all with own bathrooms--a plus. Great decks and plenty of space for everyone. Some problems some of which were handled well by E I realty. Cribs and high chair were not in house when we arrived--had to call and wait two hours for delivery. Elevator had a malfunction--two days till problem fixed. Problematic, as one of our family needed the elevator. Washing machine problem--one worked sporadically the other, totally non-functioning--With a group this size--a disaster. When we left, washer was still broken. Broken glide on cabinet drawer--door came off --fixed, but prior renter should have notified company as they should have about washing machine. Company should check out all machines, etc. as the house is turned over--would avoid many phone calls about problems. overall, a wonderful house for a large group
“1 angel's (Sweet) Dream”
Visited mid-Sept. 2012 with family ranging in age from 2 yrs to 94 yrs. The elevator was perfect for the 94 yr old and moving our gear from floor to floor! There are 40 steps from front door to kitchen level...since there is an elevator we regarded the steps as good exercise. I will note that the steps are wood and perhaps due to this they seem to blend into one another. Two of our family memebers fell down the last steps because they thought they were on the landing. I would not have mentioned this if only one fell...but two??? Lesson: use the elevator! Home is spacious...very spacious and has a nice feel. It is not as highly decorated as some of the other homes but is very comfortable none-the-less. Two friges, 2 dishwashers plus 2 washers and dryers can't be beat. Home was clean. There is a sense of privacy here too. The lavender room on the 2nd level has a comfortable bed. But, that was reported to be the only bed which was comfortable. The Master bed is so squeaky...and I'm not making this up...it even squeaks when you are pulling the blanket down! This was the main negative. Overall, our stay was enjoyable.

Everything was great! The only issue was the cleaning Staff didn't do a good job prior to our arrival. We also saw a few roaches Near the end of the week. The kitchen also needs to be better Equipped for large groups. We actually had to go buy a spatula! All that said, The rooms are fabulous, the pool and jacuzzi wonderful and our family booked again for next year. Can't wait!
